There was a poll on "toilet roll etiquette" in the Money Saving Arms not long ago. There was a clear winner:

Tsk, so many misguided people :undecided... so sad.

Just no
I read (on MSE) recently that it was deemed to be a moneysaving idea to have the loo paper running down by the wall (rather than on the facing outwards side). Apparently its deemed visitors/children are less likely to pull at it and take a few more sheets of it than the minimum possible.
Hence why it would appear to be better-off households (ones not going to concern themselves with whether one or two extra sheets of loopaper get used:rotfl:) that tend to put it coming down the front.
Hence one of my reasons for the way I do it - because I don't wish to come over as being mean to my guests iyswim (all part of the having in "their" drinks specially for them being part of my definition of being a good hostess).0 -

I'll risk it unravelling during the next earthquake.:D- Over reduces the risk of accidentally brushing the wall or cabinet with one's knuckles, potentially transferring grime and germs.
- Over makes it easier to visually locate and to grasp the loose end.
- Over gives hotels, cruise ships, office buildings, public places and homeowners with guest bathrooms the option to fold over the last sheet to show that the room has been cleaned.
- Over is generally the intended direction of viewing for the manufacturer's branding, so patterned toilet paper looks better this way.

Having someone mess with the blinds wouldn't annoy me that much, we have vertical blinds too unfortunately and the cat messes them up enough on his own!
Laptop however I would only let them use in exceptional circumstances, tell them the work laptop's the only one in use if needed!
But...
Am I the only one who doesn't care a jot which way round the loo paper goes? As for having it a certain way so people don't think you're tight :rotfl: Ye Gods...0 -
I wouldn't change it if someone had the toilet paper the wrong way in their house (that is, unrolling against the wall). However, I would assume a small child had tried to be helpful and done it wrong, or someone unwell/hungover who couldn't be arsed to change it back upon noticing they've done it wrong. Its a bit like when people flush the loo with the loo seat up. I just go 'urghhheurghhhhherhghhhurghhhhhhh' inside. Inherently wrong...0

Blinds? Not a problem in this house; all windows are fitted with shutters so the rule is simple: If it's light outside they're open, if it's dark they're closed.
Laptop? Anyone touching my personal lappy can expect instant eviction, never to be invited back. However a guest machine is provided (running Linux to avoid unwanted updates and virus attacks).
Loo-roll? Quite by accident DH bought a very clever holder with a metal cover from a pound-shop, which tightens as the roll is pulled - when fitted 'correctly' with free end forward - detaching two sheets per go. Excellent system although always supply quilted loo-roll in order to prevent unhygienic 'break-through' during use.

You'll be fine.

Maybe the lights were stopping them from sleeping? I spend quite a bit of time in hotels with work and I hate the TVs where the proper off walls witch is hidden, the light keeps me awake and I find it really distracting. The Sky box doesn't just have one light on constantly either...
I also wouldn't give a toss if someone touched my laptop. Anything important is encrypted, they can use my wifi by looking at the router etc too, really not bothered.0
