Mr S is still away, and will be for 2.5 more weeks. I am wombling lots, as my parents insist on paying for everything, but won't count it here. My parents are helping out for a fortnight at our place, then for half term we will all move to their place, then the week after the girls and I will have to manage on our own. I have a lot of admiration for single parents....Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

I bought 2 X boxes of McVities Family Circle biscuits on BOGOF in Tesco saving me £4 (put away for Christmas and New Year)
I bought 2 X Haribo mini treats tubs in Morissons for £5 saving me £3 (also put away for Christmas and New year)
I bought 2 X 15 cooked Texan barbecue chicken wings for £7 saving myself £2 ( the counter assistant rang them up as 2 X £4.50, so once again I had to be assertive and point out that there is a promotion for 15 priced at £3.50 and the code was in the book they keep near the till)

I rarely check what prices go through the till, but I was shopping in new look a month or so ago and found a good Stash of scarves, beanies and gloves reduced to 50p/£1 each, RRP of £12 ish each so I took them all to the till and it went through at £60, I then had to explain that the tags said 50p and that i hadn't just stuck small tags on each item, which I think she didn't really believe. I ended up paying about £6 for the lot!
Moral of the story, always check what price it goes through on the till!Documenting my journey from full time support worker to full time eBay reseller0 -
No!! Never correct the person on the till in Tesco. Always pay, and then take it and the receipt to customer services, and remind them 'if for some reason it doesn't add up, we will refund double the difference', it is usually printed on the wall behind the c/s desk - I got £14 back on one sack of rice.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thanks for the heads up Foxholes, but I very rarely buy items in Tesco stores, I do my weekly shop online. If I need the odd item to top up, then I usually pop into my local Morissons. I knew about Tesco's 'refund double the difference' policy, as I have shopped with Tesco most of my adult life.
I am sure that many others will benefit from this advice.0 -
