Remember you're a womble - 2016

I have an uncomfortable womble coming up (I just invented the idea of an uncomfortable womble as I already fill the immoral womble category)
19th August is World Orantutan Day, and lots of zoos are giving free entry to redheads on that day - so that is a day trip out for me and my 4 DS for petrol money (less than £5). Dyed red hair is allowed btw. Spray cans available from £shop.
I have a problem with zoos though. The one near us does an awful lot of conservation work, but it is all for ensuring the continuation of the species 'in captivity'. I want breed and release. Sometimes you have to accept the world is not perfect and as I will not be contributing financially, I can do this and show the boys animals I cannot yet afford to show them where they should be living.
So, school holiday zoo womble of £72 next Friday.

Finally discovered how to get DH to do something!
I have to send him an email at work - today's went - Can you ring Tax office on 0300 blah blah blah, you will need your P60 tell them you want last year's backdated married person's tax allowance, it will be just over £200, tell them you'd rather not have a cheque.
Seems he paid too much tax last last tax year, and they were hanging on to the MPTA as well - they were correcting this mistake by not contacting him to tell him in any way whatsoever.:rotfl:
So I have a v happy DH who is getting a rebate, plus the £200 odd MPTA from the tax year before the end of this end of tax year (mine!). It was utterly painless,no waiting around on hold, all done in less than 5 minutes.
I have only been asking him for 4 months.
Email - the way of the future - sadly he wants to use his rebate on a PS4.
So a womble for me of £200, a womble for him of a PS4 and a new game :mad:4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Expectation Management for Next Year - he had the toy this year, you get it next... Or HMRC can keep it?! Plan, Aloud. Nice kitchen thing for extra nice nosh? Improved white goods (you *Can* put a price on peace of mind)? Holiday fund (no need to say it's a one gal city break)? Something only you would use & enjoy (opera membership)?
Wombled another asda chit - all of 90 pence but again the analysts will be going berserk as it's heavy on the dog food. Just what am I feeding my teenagers?! Or hypothetical baby?!
Soapkill of an entire pound coin!
Husband morally opposed to zoos *and* red hair (ancient history) but was sorely tempted to get a spray in tint & croon at orangutans. Just hazards of washing it all out again outweighed real live orangs.0 -

My stepmum makes craft things to sell at fairs and fetes and she is having a clear out and has given me 3 baby bibs (£4.30 each), a fabric floor alphabet set (will claim £7) 2 phone cases (£3 each i guess) 2 PE kit bags (will claim £8 for each), 7 fabric brooches (will claim £1 each) and a felt covered soap (£2)
All in all wombled about £50.90 worth of stuff. I am going to gift most of it so that will keep me in check for a good little while.

He is a bricklayer so he earns more in a day than I do in a week as a part time cleaner. I find him quite careless in his spending and so I keep trying to educate him about being more savvy with his money. Time will tell
