Just found out the kids and grandkids are coming up to us so it will be a few early drinks in the bar, then home for supper and then an evening playing silly beggars with the grandkids before crashing out on the sofa
My sort of NYE

We'll be having a couple of friends over that we haven't seen over the Xmas period. We weren't doing anything at all until they text me yesterday to ask what we were up to. Hadn't even thought about it until then.0

Lily-Rose, I shall attempt to explain Cards Against Humanity as nobody's answered your question
it describes itself as "a party game for horrible people". I played the American version before the UK version came out, and they are both as good/bad as each other...
Here's a review that explains a bit more:

Having just got my own set, I'll probably be playing that on NYE along with things like Pandemic and Settlers of Catan at our local community centre (it has a bar and a hall with lots of tables available)!
It's something I've done for the past few years and it's a great night out with friends - local enough to taxi, cheap enough to afford a good few rounds!
HBS x"I believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another."
"It's easy to know what you're against, quite another to know what you're for."

Recovering from our son's third birthday, by having some bubbly, and then probably to bed early - the party animals we are 😂0

Nice meal at home, soak in a warm bath and in bed by 10 pm hopefully.
Party pooper of the year here and not ashamed to admit it !
Happy to be woken up by church bells at midnight but fireworks which continue until the early hours can be a bit of an annoyance.0 -
Its the first one in 3 years i haven;t worked....and i shall be spending it with the bf. Will proobably have a few drinks but tbh i'm more bothered about spending it in the company of someone wonderful (*ahem also there are certain things i've never done on NYE.....that i'd like to do
for some reason the idea of ringing in the new years in the throes of passion is somewhat appealing :rotfl: ) This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Don't you feel you're missing out not staying on to party with the glamouristas?
I just so enjoy watching all the glam coming in the door in a stream from about 8.30 or so. The high heels make me laugh so much, you would need a ladder to get into some of them!
And NO, I would not be missing out on anything by not staying on.... honestly, but thanks for your concern. :rotfl:
Suffering a bit of insomnia at the mo, so having a glass of milk and a mince pie. I feel like Santa Claus.0 -
OH is on call so we are doing the dine in from M&S and will watch the usual on TV. Don't think a bottle of fizz is enough to make me enjoy the bay city rollers though0

This year just me and my 2 kids and my 3 cats so probably a game of monopoly with tunes on in the background, takeaway and then watch the fireworks on the TV. New year to me is overrated and I would rather be at home then stuck somewhere I don't want to be unable to get home!I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0

We're going to a local pub which has good music, a mixture of live bands and DJ sets, with some friends. I was all for having everyone to us, where we can choose the music and not have to queue for a drink or to go for a wee, but apparently that's old and boring - even though I'm the youngest in our group
