I wondered where all the animosity in this thread was coming from.
We live in the country with fields but a Cul-de-sac with semi-detached houses. Again I wondered where all the animosity in this thread was coming from. People seem to have made all kinds of assumptions.
Oh dear.
No animosity OP, just incredulity based on your own posts - perhaps badly worded, but very much the inference to be drawn. You have an assumption that your post has been replied to with animosity but I would bet the opposite is true.
No matter, all things being equal, what do you think you will do now, based on what you have read and researched?
I think a sound proof shed where you can all practice/rehearse and enrich your son's experience is the best long term solution - especially if the garden backs onto fields.0 -

I think that you'll find that your perceived animosity in this thread is as nothing compared to that you'll get if you pi$$ off your neighbours.
Do yourself (and them) a favour by going round to discuss it with them amicably and establish some mutually acceptable ground rules before they are driven to complain.0 -
Let's look at it this way, I belong to a Led Zep tribute band, I live in a semi, and we practice every day for fours hour on and off.
Of course we stop dead on 7pm
Would you and your autistic child be happy?

My hobby is vintage motorbikes, I rebuild them and test the engines throughout the day. Of course I stop at 7 pm, but before then I run the engines, sometimes without an exhaust for test purposes.
Surely you and your autistic child wouldn't complain!

I also build model airplanes, they use pulse jets that need testing, only 120 db, surely you couldn't complain, after all it is my hobby and I enjoy it!

I enjoy playing at being a DJ so I play louds of punk songs and other material as tho I was trying to fill the O2 with sound, I cannot believe anyone would not enjoy my voice of music, okay with that?

If a feature of your son's autism were hypersensitivity to sound, how would you feel about a drum playing neighbour, particularly one who felt that the people next door needed "punishing"?0

Depends on whether you're any good or not0 -

I mentioned you in an earlier postbut he/she didn't heed my advice, I'm beginning to come to the conclusion it's not heeding anybody's advice here.
Let's hope he's not trying to 'play' you (ok it's corny but couldn"t resist :rotfl:)0
