What are our rights playing the drums?

The place where he has his drum lessons is an end of terrace house. They have 4 studios and they soundproofed them all fairly cheaply. The saved (and got people to donate) egg boxes, which they stuck to the wall. Plasterboard was placed over this and instead of using wallpaper, they've used carpet. All 4 studios can be accessed from the waiting room, and when I'm waiting for him I can't hear any music at all.
Maybe this is something you could try. If you don't want to carpet the wall, at least do the egg boxes.Because you the majority are just the anti noise brigade (must not drum at all) rather than coming up with constructive solutions. This did not work/help me when travellers were noisy 24/7 and living next door to us. So I was wondering what actually pushes the authorities into action?
You have posted twice since DevilsAdvocate's useful post but you haven't responded to it or even thanked it. You are just looking for an argument not constructive advice.Sell £1500

It's a funny old world where peoples first thoughts are their 'rights'
I think MSE has helped create this world, where it's all about rights and compensation, rather than consideration and personal responsibility.
Yes what are our "rights"? As we are now a drumming family. Does anybody actually know. I am guessing nobody is going to tell me because you don't actually know.0 -

I dunno, it's been quite an enjoyable diversion from cold turkey and Corrie omnibuses!
Yes, everybody's at home between Christmas and New Year - this is an added bit of entertainment.

What about if you were to start to learn the bagpipes and get your own back.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

The neighbors have been less than considerate towards us.
Now we have the drums we want to know what exactly we can and cannot do according to the authorities as consideration went out of the equation long time ago.

I dream of playing the bagpipes especially, usually in summer when everyone is being inconsiderate in the back garden absolutely destroying my peace.0 -

Go for it. You can make as much noise you want to make until told by the court that you must no longer make that noise. Until the neighbours or the council get that order there is no penalty for making noise.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
