Evening everyone, omg DD1 took me out to get a few bits today, at last i felt warm :D I went to Home Bargains and got a gorgeous big soft rubbery dinosaur (from the kids film Dinosaur) 3.99 for Thumper so that is him finished for christmas now, and some Family Guy socks for DS stocking 79p!!!! When we got back DD1 broke up 2 dog kennels that the ex built (they are never used) with an axe and we had a bit of a fire tonight but our burning bin has rusted through so we werent too confident about it not tipping over completely and setting the whole garden alight (although it needs it), we have made a pact that we will do a bit each weekend and then keep on top of it :o and i feel as if a weight has been lifted from my shoulders now that we have started, as many of you know the state of the garden and all the tip rubbish really get me down. We will have to save bits of money here and there as it really needs money thrown at it, all the decking that the ex did and never sealed is rotting away and is dangerous, i could never let Thumper out there not forgetting a stupid big, deep deep pond grrr but we are going to have a go at hiring a pump to pump out all the water for a start. Its amazing how much better i feel just at the thought of tackling it.

MONEYMISSION thankyou, we havent fallen out but i just stood firm and not my usual wimpering self, the trouble is she is very much like my mother, never wrong, opinionated, and feel they can say what they want regardless of the persons feelings. Oh wow your CP lodge sounds fantastic, i WILL go one day :rotfl:Oh i hope you do keep it to yourself that would be a fab surprise for DH and kids

PEPPAPIG thankyou i will, oh i know how you feel, i dont have Thumper anymore as DD2 said its too much for me not being well and i miss him like mad!! Im so glad you had some quality time with DGD. Ooh those champagne bucket and wine/prosecco pressies sound fab they didnt have them in our HB today, i would love a present like that!

MURIE no you are right i dont need any more negativity in my life :o omg Bailey is gorgeous, what a beautiful colour he/she is, my other sister had a cat that colour once with massive orange eyes, beautiful! I cant wait to hear all the funny exploits he/she gets up to when you start seeing her/his personality

The metal drum of a washing machine makes a fantastic burner. We have used one for several years. Each time someone we knows WM 'dies' the drum get taken out as there's always someone else wanting a washing machine drum burner. The funniest time was when a friend's relative, who is quite wealthy admired it and asked if it came from The Range and I told her the truth. :rotfl:

It's so weird, you've all been going on about the cold rainy weather, but where I am we have had glorious sunshine & it's so lovely and warm. It's been anything between 17-20 degrees here!

Hi Dolly - they're all lovely on here, you will love it. It really starts moving fast from around October & they all have so many great ideas :)

Ok I've kind of done something Christmassy. I've booked for us to go to center parcs just before Christmas. I can't wait! I've told my OH I've booked it but what I haven't told him is I've splashed out a bit and booked a nicer lodge, with a games room and hot tub. I was going back and forth between the cheaper lodge and this one, because usually on holidays we don't spend much time in the room/villa, but when we have been to CP before in the past we have always gone in December and because it's cold we tend to spend a lot more time in the lodge and only venture out to have a walk, go swimming and go for food, so I thought it would be a nice treat to have the upgraded lodge. I want to keep it as a surprise for my OH and daughters but I hate keeping secrets so don't know if I'll be able to keep it from my OH for very long.

Also I realised yesterday that I said I haven't really done anything in preparation for Christmas but that's actually not true because I have been putting money aside every month for Christmas and I've also been saving all my amazon vouchers. So yay me!:j

Chrissy - I hope your daughter gets the treatment she needs soon and starts to feel better, it's horrible when they're unwell isn't it :(

Pinksteps - sounds like you have a lovely Christmas to look forward to this year. I hope your son has cleared all his boxes before then :rotfl:

Peppa - I'm glad i'm not the only one who thought the feathers and fur thing sounded like something saucy :rotfl:

Free - families can be a nightmare sometimes cant they! I hope you get some sort of truce between you and your sister, sometimes people do wrong but are in denial about it so prefer to put the blame on the other person. Maybe when she sees you at the funeral she might mellow a bit & realise that it does go both ways and she could have contacted you in those 19 months, so hopefully will put all differences aside.

    xx

Centrerparcs at Christmas will be amazing! Good luck keeping it a secret :)

Here's a picture Of Bailey as I think she/he will be called from here on in. Her eye is a bit crusty in this picture taken Wednesday when we brought her home but its fine now.

It seems that Mylie may not be the best name for our new addition as there is some debate over whether she is a boy or girl! Bailey is unisex so thats the way we are going at the mo- although DD is at work so we cant make it a unanimous decision til she gets in! She (the kitten not DD!) slept through last night so DS didn't have any issues with her.

Free- the sooner you see the specialist the sooner you will start to get better! Shame on your GP for taking so long to become proactive in the first place. As far as your family- let them squabble between themselves, you don't need any more crud in your life x

Peppa - the only thng I really remember about the rollers is that my friend Pauline liked them and always had a tartan scarf wrapped around her wrist. I think the fact that she had a tortoise had more of an impact on me than the rollers lol! I am definitely not cool!

Money Mission- that's a good idea to upgrade to a bigger lodge. I love the idea of a hot tub!

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, take care xx

So gorgeous! S/he looks like a cute little troublemaker!

Free, don't fret too much! I'm sure it is minor, just concentrate on the fact it's being sorted. Yay for the garden!

Another night of less than 5 hours interrupted sleep and I'm beginning to lose the will! Our little madam seems to turn into an absolute nightmare overnight :(

Bailey is beautiful, l miss having a cat, but have stroking rights on DDs cat. She (cat, not DD) is hilarious when she tries to miaow, her 'bits' do the right motions, but only silence is emitted, and she looks so pleased with herself.
Great tip about the WM drum, and, Free, so glad you have made a start on the garden. You will be surprised just how much you will achieve in an hour a week. When l get back from China l intend getting the final stage of mine under construction. a lot of that is getting rid of rubbish that accumulates from the earlier phases.
l have been really bad, and bought 3 pairs of sandals, l know l can only wear one pair at a time, but when you have size2 feet, and find a maker who has a selection in your size.......it seemed rude not to order them.
Feisty, l hope your little angel starts to sleep longer/better at night, my memories of sleeplessness and bone weariness are still fresh, so my sympathies to you.
We still have the sun so today will be more outdoor than in, once l get my Skype in.

Lovely weather today- hope everyone is well and has been able to get out and about if possible and enjoy the sun x

Blimey Mrs I- size 2 is a tiny size! Now wonder you took advantage of the sandals!

Feisty- as Mrs I says, you never forget the feelings of being absolutely dead on your feet, but you do eventually learn to make the most of the odd second or two during the course of the day/night that the little darlings allow you to grab! DS slept through from 6 weeks, DD on the other hand from the age of 8 moths, could literally sleep for 10 minutes and not need to sleep for another 10 hours (til she was 4 and a half!!!!).Mind you she slept solid from birth to 8 months and wouldn't even wake up to feed which resulted in several emergency hospital stays as her blood sugars kept dipping dangerously low. I had to be cruel to be kind, she had to be laid on a flat surface like the floor to be fed as it was the only way she would suckle. It used to take about and hour to feed her even a small amount of bottle and was stressful to say the least. To this day she still doesn't have a big liquid intake (and she's 20 next month!)

Not saying it to frighten you, just to let you know that there is light at the end of the tunnel that you will be able to see eventually through red rimmed, (held open with matchstick) eyes xx.

Free- small steps for the garden, it will get done eventually, Im glad its cheered you up to start the clear up operation. As for the pond, I might be being mad but could you put all the garden burnable into the hole and set fire to it to get rid of it? Then fill the hole in cus if you pump it out it will gradually fill again and still be a potential hazard. Whatever you decide just take it easy x

Spendless- that a brilliant idea for using a washing machine drum!
    lovin' this site!

Evening everyone, DD1 got straight back out into the garden this afternoon and we have tidied, pulled weeds, stinging nettles out, picked numerous bottles and rubbish the dog has sneaked out there :D washed all the patio furniture down, and cleaned a wrought iron gate up, bless her i dont know what has got into her but i am making the most of it!!!!!!! I just wish i could help more but still got no strength and now have a fibro flare up :o but helped as and when i could and sat out with her keeping her company. MRSINVISIBLE you are right its amazing what a difference can be made in just a few hours.

SPENDLESS oh that is a fab tip, thankyou :)

FEISTY oh i feel for you honey, for me that was the worst part of babyhood for me

MRSINVISIBLE it cant be long until you go to china can it? I bet you cant wait!!

MURIE i have actually been out in the garden in the lovely sunshine, warming these cold old bones up :D

Thank you everyone! Another night with hardly any sleep, but I've at least woken/started the day not feeling quite so angry as did some reading overnight about it.

Our garden had some progress over the weekend too, courteous of the lovely father in law! Our big corner of dirt and rubbish was dug out and a sold fence panel inserted over the slatted one. This now means that next door can no-longer see in to the house from their parking space :)

Feisty I feel for you. Our eldest was fine at night but our youngest was a nightmare from day 1! In the day she was the happiest baby I've ever seen, even our health visitor said she'd never seen such a happy baby. But in the night she just wouldn't sleep, took ages to get to sleep, woke up constantly. I must have looked like a zombie for probably the first 2 years :rotfl:. I know it's always said and probably feels a bit futile, but try and get some sleep during the day if/when she sleeps, just so you are getting some rest. Is there anybody that can take her every now and then for you to get some rest? When our youngest was about 3 months old my OH's mum started having her every other Thursday. It really did help me a lot because I knew that I was getting that one day's break every 2 weeks so whenever I felt things really getting on top of me I would take a breather and remember that my rest day was coming around again.

I hope you can get somewhere with her soon. Have you spoken to the Health Visitor about it? My HV was really helpful with our little one. She always asked how her sleeping pattern was and as soon as she realised she wasn't sleeping for me she tried suggesting things. At 3 months, when I told her she was still having a bottle every 3 hours she told me to start feeding her some baby rice during the day, even though their recommendation at the time was no solids until 6 months. I was going to do it anyway but to have that support from the HV as well made me feel better about making that choice.

    Hi Folks,

Back from Canada bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Have speed read all pages from whilst I was away.Glad to see on the whole an improvement in health problems.

    Fiesty,I feel your pain.It does improve,honest.

Free,I think you are cold because of your fantastic weight loss.I was freezing when I lost 4 stone + . Gardening sounds great.

I tried to get the cake in a mug but my local tescs is too small, will have to go further afield.

Well Canada was fantastic and it was so nice to see my son and his girlfriend.I managed to find a Christmas shop in Banff,I have a picture but am such a dunce I dont know how to put it on to show you all.I only bought 2 things from there,an ornament and a shopping bag. Most restrained. We didn't buy much at all as I am trying not to amass stuff after getting rid of so much when we moved.Youngest had a few clothes as they are much cheaper there and bought the Grandmas Maple syrup biscuits.Oh I did buy fabric from a patchwork shop, two types of Christmas print for a throw.

Mr V has a dvt and spent the afternoon at the hospital yesterday. He has to inject warfrin and go back for a scan tomorrow:eek:Brave soldier is still working, bless him.The flights with delays both ways nearly finished us off.I think that was the last long haul flight we will do.No crying children this time but a yapping dog! I didn't know you could take dogs on planes. Was only 3 hours thankfully From Calgary to Toronto.

I am enjoying this beautiful weather and now i have caught up on my sleep cannot wait to get in my garden,it has grown whilst I was away. The wall is not finished, they were here yesterday but not here yet today.

It's all downhill now for me to Christmas :xmastree::rudolf:Vx

    Hello
Sorry i've been a little AWOL and hands up I haven't read for almost a week, although prior to that I was still reading.
Had a good bank holiday on one hand spending time with DH but we had a rough time as had a 2nd miscarriage so just not been myself :( picked ourselves back up though and have booked a (very) last minute holiday next week for a few days away in the sun to just get away from everything.
I will try and catch up on what I've missed.
Tea and cake for everyone :)
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
