Free - you treat yourself to those new sunnies, you deserve it
. Funnily enough I was having a conversation with somebody in work today about my sunglasses because I always wear my sunglasses but left them on my desk yesterday when I left work, so had to drive home without them. Well, I say I had to, I could have gone back into the office to grab them but I was being lazy :rotfl:. We go on holiday at the end of this month though & we always buy a new pair, so I might start looking now & treat myself.
I know of the Bay City Rollers, but I think I would only know their music if somebody put it on & told me who it was. My mum was a big fan of them though.
Peppa - you're very good painting your own porch, I am so lazy with things like that. Whenever I need decorating done I put it off until I've got enough money to pay a decorator. I used to actually enjoy decorating, seeing the end result and knowing I did it myself, but we had to do so much decorating in our first house that I think it sucked the enjoyment out of it for me.
Feisty - I hope your routine starts to settle soon and your DH recovers after his op.
What a change in the weather today! We had beautiful sunshine and blue skies yesterday and this morning it has just been overcast all day. It feels like we're going to have a thunderstorm, but the weather forecasts say just cloudy for a few days.
I hope everybody else is feeling good today and for those having a not so good day, I'm sending a big sprinkling of fairy dust to hopefully brighten up a gloomy day0 -
Hey everyone,
Just found this thread today, haven't read through the whole thing so I will be very behind on all the chat.
I bought my first Christmas pressie last week, a top that my mum liked which was in the sales so just picked that up for her.
I love Christmas! Its such a lovely time of the year.
Really need to be more organised though I usually leave it till December then have to buy all the pressies from the one wage. Not this year though, this will be the year I finally get to grips with it I can feel it in my bones :rotfl:
Weather has been gorgeous in Glasgow today too, been stuck in the office since 8am, managed out for a little while on my break which was nice.
Anyhoo looking forward to the countdown to Christmas & getting to know you all a little better.

Welcome to the thread DOLLY ROCKER, you're at home amongst the Christmas nuts here.
FREE, I do remember. As a child I loved The Monkees (Daydream Believer still makes my tummy go all funny lol) and I loved glam rock with the best of them (Metal Guru by T-Rex was the first record I ever bought) but The Rollers were definitely it for me. I still love all the songs though I wasn't too keen when they said they were going to reform, I think I prefer to remember them as they were. I have to ask - what's a fur and feathers afternoon, it sounds a bit saucy lol.
FEISTY nice to see you back and hugs and best wishes to DH - it must be very scary for you both but will be worth it if it can improve his quality of life.
MONEY MISSION I know what you mean, I used to decorate just for fun but it's definitely more if a chore now. Fortunately I just woke up with the urge to do it so it got done. Lucky you with the weather it's rained cats and dogs all day yesterday and today here and I'm just about fed up with it. Hard to believe we were in the garden on sun loungers a few days ago.
Nothing festive happening at the mo but I need to complete the welcome basket for honorary DGS as going to see him on Monday. Fingers crossed he might be coming home from hospital tomorrow. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Thanks Peppapig.

Morning all and new Dolly, well things are getting back on track following the slight family hiccup, but safe to say I will probably have 2 DSs at home for Christmas now as I welcome one back to the fold. Another stocking to make even though he's thirty, but it will be treasured as just over a week ago we lost him a few times and it puts everything into perspective. But he's here and I'm tripping over his boxes of carp everywhere and I wouldn't have it any other way (well not until it really gets on my nerves). Thoughts are with all and I have been keeping up, just not posting as much as I should. X0

So happy for you all, Christmas will be all the more special this year for you.
DD has her "young inspector" day out today , its a group where young people who use the LA services get to do things and then have their say. She is out for 5 hours I don't know what I will do with myself !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Don't waste the time, 5 hours will fly by for you. I can so imagine her putting the services to right in that time too, I don't think they thought it through letting her have her say :rotfl:0 -

Afternoon everyone, the one good thing to come out of all this illness and not being able to eat i have lost 4st 11lb now, DD2 said to me the other day mum your clothes are really baggy on you have you lost more, so i weighed myself today and have lost another 8lb, i have never lost this much in my life and havent weighed this number for about 15 years!!! It has rather lifted my spirits i must admit, now DS challenge to me last august is definitely happening, he said if i lost 4st before my 50th (oct) he would take me to see the Northern Lights never in my wildest dreams did i think i would get there, although i cant unfortunately say it is all SW but my eating habits (although atm all over the place) have definitely changed. Is anyone else really feeling the cold atm tues i had the heating on, yesterday and today sitting with a constant hot water bottle under a throw???? I know part of it is me as DD1 was walking round with no sleeves last night!!!
