I should be at work today but I've been up almost all night being sick so I'm going to spend the day curled up in front of the TV .
Hope everyone has a great BH.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

filling pots in the garden yesterday, then invited over the fence for a G&T and 'craic' (sp) .
yes, it is lovely seeing the baby birds get their wings.
We have 2 baby red squirrels, they were in the garden with mum or dad yesterday. Looked like they had just discovered their tails the way they were waving them about. stayed less than 5 minutes, but what a fantastic sight!
Nothing Christmas to report but l found myself humming last years thread title if that counts?0 -
Hello everyone,
I normally pop in around late summer/early Autumn and join in, but I've seen a couple of things recently that I thought I'd share.
Tesco have Dr Oetker cake in a mug sachets for 50p. There are 3 different flavours, lemon, chocolate chip and I think the other was double chocolate. BB date (for people who care about such matters:p) is end of Feb 2017. Thought it would be handy for teenage boys stockings as they can be difficult to buy for.
The other thing I'm hopefully getting DD tomorrow is there is a David Walliams book (The World's Worst children) for £5 if you buy The Sun newspaper. I have seen this offer in Tesco, no idea if it's available elsewhere. My Dad buys The Sun everyday, as I had no intention of getting itso says he'll pick up the book too.
Currently I have plenty of time on my hands to source presents, but no money as I lost my job at the end of the year and haven't managed to find anything else.I did buy in the Boots 70% off sale, but stupidly did not think to include getting birthday presents in. Thankfully after MILs tomorrow, the birthdays slow down.

Afternoon everyone,
Sorry i have been away again for a few days but same old same old, still not well, it was going great then saturday morning i woke up and had to run to bathroom  and the rest of this weekend havent felt well enough to go out, nearly got brave and went to cinema with DD1 today as she has some free tickets but my body had other ideas so still sitting here. It has been so cold here i could really put the heating on but my purse says NO!!! I had some very sad news last night as my aunty who i was very close to when i was a kid was found dead by her carer in her sheltered living flat yesterday morning, its so so sad and i really regret not making more of an effort for her in the last few years, needless to say i am very emotional at the moment, but what really grated was being told by text by my sister, i know i am estranged from my parents but has communication got so bad these days that a personal phone call cant be done in these circumstances??? And then when i asked if she could please let me know funeral arrangements she was horrified that i wanted to go, just because i am "not included in the family anymore" so the kids and i are going to take flowers, wait for them all to go and go and pay our respects and lay flowers after they have all gone, i just havent got the mettle for family feuds at the moment! I feel so nearly down on my knees i am thinking of going back on my ADs, i was crying at the Bay City Rollers last night fgs! It just made me think how happy and carefree i was at that age and how long ago it all was, i think this turning 50 business is playing on my mind more than i thinkAnyway this is why i havent been posting, it has turned into a rant and i dont want to come on here every day and bring you all down! Still reading though, you arent getting rid of me that easily :rotfl:

Oh freespirit, how sorry I am to hear all this. We've had our fair share of family feuds over the years and at the moment I would be the one in your sister's position, as my sister isn't on speaking term with our parents and we have elderly Grandparents in their 90s in ill-health. Sis is only in contact with one of them, but I do my utmost to stop out of it. It is her business and nothing to do with me. I can't imagine being discouraging if she announced she wanted to attend a funeral, or letting her know anything quite personal by text.
Mil's present proved relatively painless. She had her bathroom refurbed recently and just a shower put in. I have a towel in my present cupboard in a design she likes, that I've not got round to giving previously. Managed to get a shower set fro Boots and had enough points to pay for it that way and added a cheap bunch of flowers. Cost in money to include cards and wrapping paper £5.70 :money: Don't think I'll bother telling Mr S;) DD bought herself a new nomination charm whilst we were out shopping, from proceeds of car boot she did last week, plus some pocket money, went in hubbys car as don't pay for fuel (company perk) and free parking due to it being a BH. Quite happy with the excursion. :j

So sorry to hear things have taken a downward turn FREE. It's not really a surprise that you're feeling so emotional, your health is pulling you down and to have such sad news as well is a lot for anyone to cope with. I know you have problems with your family and I think your idea to go and pay your own respects when the others have gone is a good one. It's having that closure and time to talk to your aunt that matters, not being seen at the funeral and it'll be personal time for you and your own little family to say goodbye. I'm the last person to advise on whether or not you should go back on your anti-depressants but I do know that there is nothing to be gained by not taking them if it's making you feel bad. My sister gave up hers for about a year a while ago but she decided in the end to go back to them and not struggle to cope with day to day life. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that it isn't a failure to go back on them if they help you. You're a brave lady and you've come so far in the last few years so be proud and cut yourself some slack, take time to grieve both for your aunt and for your own past and I truly hope things look up for you on the health front very soon. Sending you big hugs xxIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
