Hello
Sorry i've been a little AWOL and hands up I haven't read for almost a week, although prior to that I was still reading.
Had a good bank holiday on one hand spending time with DH but we had a rough time as had a 2nd miscarriage so just not been myselfpicked ourselves back up though and have booked a (very) last minute holiday next week for a few days away in the sun to just get away from everything.
I will try and catch up on what I've missed.
Tea and cake for everyone

Hi all, I can't believe i've been AWOL again for so long! After all my best intentions! DH had last week off so we were out and about everyday, each evening I collapsed on the sofa and didn't have the energy to get the laptop out! I haven't caught up yet so will go back and have a peruse.
I did catch your news though newthrift and I am so, so sorry to hear that, it must have been a very difficult time for you both. You poor thing, you definitely need a holiday to rest and recuperate. I never know whether i'm saying the right or wrong things in these situations but I wanted to say that a friend of mine had a couple of miscarriages but still went on to have a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Sending you lots of hugs, cake and stength. xx0 -
Welcome back VULPIX, glad you had a fab time but sorry to hear about the horrendous flights and DH's dvt. Hope they get it disbursed quickly. You can end up like a pincushion with the blood thinning jabs.
NEWTHRIFT so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and I can only second what the others have said, try to relax on your break and give yourselves time to heal and your body time to recover.
PRINCESSKITTY nice to see you back but no need to apologise, sounds like you've had a good week with DH. Hope you're settled in your new home now. When will your actual new house be ready to move into? Bet you can't wait.
It's been nice and warm today although a bit overcast followed by the loudest and biggest storm I can remember this evening! I can't remember ever hearing thunder so loud. My sister's conservatory flooded and she had a bucket in he fireplace to catch the rain cascading down the chimney! All passed over now though and just rain left. Chemo tomorrow as they're behind because of the Bank Holday so I'll be all confused thinking it's Monday lol. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

In the day she was the happiest baby I've ever seen, even our health visitor said she'd never seen such a happy baby. But in the night she just wouldn't sleep, took ages to get to sleep, woke up constantly. I must have looked like a zombie for probably the first 2 years :rotfl:. I know it's always said and probably feels a bit futile, but try and get some sleep during the day if/when she sleeps, just so you are getting some rest. Is there anybody that can take her every now and then for you to get some rest? When our youngest was about 3 months old my OH's mum started having her every other Thursday. It really did help me a lot because I knew that I was getting that one day's break every 2 weeks so whenever I felt things really getting on top of me I would take a breather and remember that my rest day was coming around again.
I hope you can get somewhere with her soon. Have you spoken to the Health Visitor about it? My HV was really helpful with our little one. She always asked how her sleeping pattern was and as soon as she realised she wasn't sleeping for me she tried suggesting things. At 3 months, when I told her she was still having a bottle every 3 hours she told me to start feeding her some baby rice during the day, even though their recommendation at the time was no solids until 6 months. I was going to do it anyway but to have that support from the HV as well made me feel better about making that choice.
Thank you lovely! Because she had issues with feeding and weight gain (still only 9lbs at 19 weeks!) early on, they think she is feeding so much overnight to make up for it.
The MIL was having her of an evening every other Saturday, but we've got her into a fab routine of bath, feed and sleep for around 8pm ish and I don't want to throw it out. DH and I were talking about perhaps settling her for the night and getting his parents to look after her at ours so we could have a date night.Hi Folks,
Back from Canada bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Have speed read all pages from whilst I was away.Glad to see on the whole an improvement in health problems.
Fiesty,I feel your pain.It does improve,honest.
Free,I think you are cold because of your fantastic weight loss.I was freezing when I lost 4 stone + . Gardening sounds great.
I tried to get the cake in a mug but my local tescs is too small, will have to go further afield.
Well Canada was fantastic and it was so nice to see my son and his girlfriend.I managed to find a Christmas shop in Banff,I have a picture but am such a dunce I dont know how to put it on to show you all.I only bought 2 things from there,an ornament and a shopping bag. Most restrained. We didn't buy much at all as I am trying not to amass stuff after getting rid of so much when we moved.Youngest had a few clothes as they are much cheaper there and bought the Grandmas Maple syrup biscuits.Oh I did buy fabric from a patchwork shop, two types of Christmas print for a throw.
Mr V has a dvt and spent the afternoon at the hospital yesterday. He has to inject warfrin and go back for a scan tomorrow:eek:Brave soldier is still working, bless him.The flights with delays both ways nearly finished us off.I think that was the last long haul flight we will do.No crying children this time but a yapping dog! I didn't know you could take dogs on planes. Was only 3 hours thankfully From Calgary to Toronto.
I am enjoying this beautiful weather and now i have caught up on my sleep cannot wait to get in my garden,it has grown whilst I was away. The wall is not finished, they were here yesterday but not here yet today.
It's all downhill now for me to Christmas :xmastree::rudolf:Vx

Great big hugs new thrift. If you need an ear, please do pop me a message. I had two missed miscarriages and almost 6 years of trying, I found speaking to others that had been in similar situations helped, so I'm always available if you need it xxx[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Evening everyone, i got a text this morning from a local hospital saying dont forget your appt in Gastroenterology on 17th June so i guessed that was my new appt, then an hour later a letter popped through the post (nearly 2 months before the other one???) Then like buses all come at once i realised tonight i have a voicemail and it is another local hospital asking me to ring them ???? I have been baking to take my mind off of it all
VULPIX i know you have said before it could be my weight loss, it makes me laugh thinking about it! So glad you enjoyed Canada i bet you had a fab time, i have always wanted to tour the Rockies. Shame about the flights they can ruin a holiday cant they!! I hope DHs dvt disappears soon for him and he is back to good health!
NEWTHRIFT oh honey i am so sorry about your news, get yourself away from everything and completely relax and start again when you are ready to try again. Have you looked through the different threads on here? i know there is one about trying to conceive, and the girls get a lot of comfort from talking to each other as they know what each other is going through
PRINCESSKITTY how is everything going? Have you made some new friends yet for you and Wiggle?
PEPPAPIG omg your poor sister that must have been quite scary! Good luck tomorrow, and i hope you feel ok afterwards, will be thinking of you

No chemo this week after all. Had phone call from hospital this morning and yesterday's blood test have shown that my immunity hasn't come back up after the last round (it's 0.1 which apparently is very low) so they've booked me in to try again next week. I'm what they call neutropenic so I have to be extra careful now to avoid anyone with germs. Feeling pretty fed up really as I'm not good when plans are thrown out and this means I'll finish this at least a week later than I thought and also my non chemo week will now be my chemo week so where I've planned to do things I'll have to change arrangements. I'm making a fuss about nothing really but it feels better to vent a bit lol.
FEISTY your plan sounds like a good one. Keeping the little one in her routine is bound to help and you and DH will benefit from some baby free time.
FREESPIRIT that's typical, nothing for ages then everything all at once. Deep breaths, bite the bullet and make that phone call. Glad you've got confirmation of your appointment on 17th, I'll be thinking of you. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
