No chemo this week after all. Had phone call from hospital this morning and yesterday's blood test have shown that my immunity hasn't come back up after the last round (it's 0.1 which apparently is very low) so they've booked me in to try again next week. I'm what they call neutropenic so I have to be extra careful now to avoid anyone with germs. Feeling pretty fed up really as I'm not good when plans are thrown out and this means I'll finish this at least a week later than I thought and also my non chemo week will now be my chemo week so where I've planned to do things I'll have to change arrangements. I'm making a fuss about nothing really but it feels better to vent a bit lol.

FEISTY your plan sounds like a good one. Keeping the little one in her routine is bound to help and you and DH will benefit from some baby free time.

FREESPIRIT that's typical, nothing for ages then everything all at once. Deep breaths, bite the bullet and make that phone call. Glad you've got confirmation of your appointment on 17th, I'll be thinking of you.

Peppa you are not making a fuss about nothing! Gentle hugs to you my lovely.

Peppa it will all be soon a distant memory, you are doing so well.xx

This thread is ace,I read for about 2 years before I posted. It helped me a lot when I finished work and lived in the sticks.I missed the general chit chat from colleagues.I love to hear the ups and downs of peoples lives. It is odd that we would walk past each other in the street.

I need to get my act together and go to the bank, laters Vx

ps went to giant tescs and couldnt find the cake/mug thing.Which section was it in?I looked in baking but perhaps they are elsewhere.

I can't wait to see the ring! I really hope your jet lag has eased and that Mr Vs DVT is better!
Oh really tired today, we've been up since 2am as Wiggle was chesty and it sounded bad when he was breathing, a bit like a seal. He ended up in bed with us which hasn't happened for some 10 months or so and he's a big boy now so we didn't have much room to move! His symptoms are exactly how croup is described but the doctor this morning said he couldn't hear anything on his chest and it was probably just phlegm in his throat. I really didn't like the doctor this morning, he was not very personable and was a bit dismissive. Wiggle hasn't really been coughing and especially hasn't coughed anything up so we really don't think it's phlegm in his throat. He's quite well in himself and happy, it was bad last night where he'd been lying down but ok today, surely if it was phlegm he would have been coughing it up this morning? I never know how they can hear his chest at all as he's always screaming the place down when we go into a doctors room! We're going to have to see how it goes I think. Anyway i'm just rambling now, he's just gone down for a nap so i'm going to see if I can grab 5 minutes. x

Oh Hun, that is awful! We have a nurse like that, implied that me going dairy free was unnecessary and scoffed when I said the chiropractor had pretty much diagnosed it. As others have said, be firm and ask for a second opinion! Never be afraid to complain when it comes to yours and your family's health. I hope wiggle is feeling better now?

Free have you made that call yet lovely? Don't beat yourself up about stress eating, be kind to yourself!

Last week I was completely on the ball with housework, this week I've done hardly a thing  I did manage to whip up a Victoria sponge today though!

Thanks all for your messages. So it turns out Wiggle has a really heavy cold that has come out today. So the doctor was right, but I really didn’t appreciate his manner. Wiggle has never had breathing problems with the onset of a cold so we were naturally worried, and as I said he wasn’t coughing anything up for about 24 hours. He didn’t have any cold symptoms at that time. I wouldn’t take him to the doctors for a cold, it’s just his breathing noises and difficulties were something new. Thankfully that hasn’t happened since. I am sorry for my last post though, I was so tired and just ranting! He did sleep pretty well last night but unfortunately DH and I didn’t (too warm isn’t it?) and Wiggle had us up at 4am. We put him down just before 6 tonight as he was so tired and I’ve been up there four times already so it could be a long night! Anyway sorry I’m doing my tired waffling again! I cheered myself up yesterday by watching the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special. :)

On a positive note we got to go in the show home of our new house again today so we checked a few things out and took some measurements ready to confirm all of our choices once and for all tomorrow. I am really excited about our new home, and as I said currently obsessed with looking at anything interiors!

Treasurequeen thanks for the heads up about cardshopdirect (and CHRISSYG for the link), I shall have a nosey!

mrsinvisible I remember having to get 3 flights when I visited Montana. It’s a long old journey but worth it when you get there to see your family.

Feisty unfortunately there are a lot of old school medical people around who don’t believe in a lot of things! They don’t realise that actually a lot of babies probably suffered in times gone by because they hadn’t made the medical advances they have now. I hope it is improving things for you now. Well done on making the Victoria sponge! I’m still like that now, some weeks everything is clean and then the next week nothing gets done!

Hopefully Wiggle let you have a little sleep last night and that you are all feeling better/brighter today x Enjoy reaching your decisions together fro your new home today x

I have been on the go since I got up with the birds this morning- made 2 rhubarb crumbles, one apple crumble, cheese scones, cauliflower cheese and prepped the lunch etc -Im on a roll today! I figured its all good exercise for my arm (even though its difficult at times) so that's a plus too!

It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Need to do a catch up here, been so busy I have not had time to change my mind. Today is the first day for about 6 weeks that I have a day when I can actually do what I want. So the plan is to start packing for holiday, not going until end July, but there is so much all over the place, that doing that will kill 2 birds. As I will be taking 2 cases, I need to be able to spread the load evenly & more importantly, ensure the littlies have equal amounts of goodies, although to be fair, they wouldn't make a fuss, as long as there is Lego, they will be happy!

Finishing class next week for the year, so need to think what I can take with me for the party we always have. Have fruit juice in freezer so we can have cold drinks. Some of the class will be fasting as it is Ramadan, so need to think of food that they can take with them. Thinking about making a cous cous salad, millionaire shortbread, but would like to make something more "solid" in the savoury line. Anyone got any suggestions?

Hugs for all those who need them, hope all doing well.

Non Christmas Rant alert - I work along side people from 18 to 50+ , today has been the day from hell as the 18 yr old went out last night and came to work seriously hung over. He had driven to work but said he was ok to drive even though at times he couldn't support his head without the help of the counter. When I said something about driving his response was its after 12 noon so I'm ok !!! clearly not if you are leaving customers to go be sick ! really wanted to bang his head of the nearest solid wall.

Evening everyone, omg i have been stressed out this weekend we had the tropical rainstorm from hell on friday evening and water started pouring through the ceiling in the flat roof part of the conservatory in 3 places so had to put bowls down, because i am already stressing about this week, funeral and hospital i totally freaked out, went into meltdown, threw up everywhere then had to sip water all night  then when i awoke saturday morning and was looking up all my wallpaper is stained yellow where the water must have seeped through the concrete gutters into my bedroom i didnt even notice the windowsill was soaked and everything on it!! I really need to win/do the lottery and get out of this place there is just so much that needs fixing.

MRSINVISIBLE i hope you have a safe flight on wednesday and a wonderful, relaxing time in China, im sure your packing is all sorted now and you are ready as you are so organised. Sorry about DS car expense doubling, cars are an expensive business arent they when they go wrong!

MURIE you must have been devastated when DS was diagnosed with asthma after keep going to the other doctors and being told there was nothing wrong with him, i dont understand why some drs just dont have the right manner to be a dr and dismiss mums as idiots, i always tell my DD2 mums know best trust your instincts. I remember when DD2 was having tests on her back when she was about 12 and we had a hospital appt and he just turned around to me and said 'well what are you doing here?' really agressively, i was so shocked and explained everything and he turned to me and said 'well you know its scoliosis what more can i say?' No one had ever mentioned the word let alone actually diagnosed her, of course i walked out and cried, DD2 was so upset, we went home and googled what it was and it was so worrying, so i sent a letter of complaint i was so mad, another appt was made and we saw the nicest consultant ever he apologised and said of course we must have been worried and explained everything and let us ask questions, just totally different manner

FEISTY thankyou :D dont worry about the housework, make the most of little missfeisty while she is so tiny because it goes so fast! Im like that all the time, one week im on a roll, the next week nothing gets done!

PRINCESSKITTY aww i hope it wasnt that long a night and wiggle soon stayed asleep, i hope he is feeling better very soon!

MURIE omg girl you are on a roll, and one handed, well done you! Now i hope you are resting!

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY i hope you have enjoyed your day of leisure, what about cheese scones?

CHRISSY the stupid little soandso, the young just dont think of the consequences do they??
