Oh really tired today, we've been up since 2am as Wiggle was chesty and it sounded bad when he was breathing, a bit like a seal. He ended up in bed with us which hasn't happened for some 10 months or so and he's a big boy now so we didn't have much room to move! His symptoms are exactly how croup is described but the doctor this morning said he couldn't hear anything on his chest and it was probably just phlegm in his throat. I really didn't like the doctor this morning, he was not very personable and was a bit dismissive. Wiggle hasn't really been coughing and especially hasn't coughed anything up so we really don't think it's phlegm in his throat. He's quite well in himself and happy, it was bad last night where he'd been lying down but ok today, surely if it was phlegm he would have been coughing it up this morning? I never know how they can hear his chest at all as he's always screaming the place down when we go into a doctors room! We're going to have to see how it goes I think. Anyway i'm just rambling now, he's just gone down for a nap so i'm going to see if I can grab 5 minutes. x0

PRINCESSKITTY that is the first thing i thought of when you said he sounded like a seal, croup. See how he goes if you are still concerned i would get a second opinion definitely, some drs just dismiss young mums concerns and it bl**dy well annoys me! Hope he is ok tonight x

Hope wiggles feeling better soon! It was the first thing I thought of too when you said a seal. My Lil lad really struggled to breathe first time he had it and they gave him some steroids. Doctor did say they don't tend to give them out often and there's nothing they can do of its croup, he's just got over it again but this time was no where near as bad. They did say to sit in a room full of steam and that helps and to just alternate nurofen and calpol x0 -
PRINCESSKITTY if you're not happy with what the doc said I'd suggest calling 111 tonight after the surgery has closed or anytime over the weekend. They'll ask you questions about his symptoms and you'll probably get an appointment at the out-of-hours clinic where you can see a different doctor. Trust your instincts, you know Wiggle better than anyone else. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Pack, pack, pack! must get started today! l go on Wednesday. Travelling 36 hours but they are 8 hours ahead, so it is really only 28 hours, from door to door! 3 different airplanes though, and terminal changes which can be challenging, to say the least. Update on DS2s car repair, £700+ now. Need to go into town today to pick up the last lot of ''bring with you please'' then it is all systems go.
There are clothes everywhere and all the usual detritus that gathers when you are too busy to remove it. have a good weekend all. xx0 -
Hope you have a fabulous time MRSINVISIBLE, bet the family can't wait for your arrival. I do admire you doing that long flight! It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Chrissy/TreasureQueen- thank you will I will have a look to see if they have the wrapping paper I am after on cardshopdirect
Princesskitty- is Wiggle any better? Hopefully so x (see my comments below)
Free- any baking today? I haven't but DS has taken over the kitchen to make steak pizzas (he had one at a restaurant he went to a few weeks ago and loved it-yuk!).
Peppa- you are so right, I remember when DS was tiny and he got 'chest infection' after 'chest infection' and the GP wouldn't listen to me when I asked for a referral. In the end we changed GP as on one occasion he turned to me and said he was finding it difficult to keep up with my level of concern over my son! That was the final straw- I walked out of there went to join another practice. Within 2 weeks we had an appointment with paediatric asthma specialist who diagnosed chronic asthma. He said I was right to keep on pushing and that DS should have been seen after the first 6 months of recurring infection- he said no -one knows a child better than its mother. It was a relief all round as I felt awful he was always so poorly and like I was being to much of a worry wort keep taking him to the GP. Within 6 months we had it under control. So Princesskitty if you aren't happy- keep pushing.
Mrs I- have a lovely time, hope you can get all the requested 'stuff' in your case (but on the plus side you will have a lot of room in your bags to buy nice things over there to bring back!)
Vulpix- are you feeling any less jet lagged now (and is Mr V's DVT sorted?)
Take care everyone and enjoy the weekend xlovin' this site!
