Evening everyone, well hopefully this will be the last night in my broken bed, DS and DD1 are going to put my new bed up and take the old one down tomorrow yayyy! Then i need to save for a new mattress as last night i felt a blooming spring that had come through the mattress and it is very sharp
VULPIX glad you really enjoyed your art class, i giggled at MRV allowing your picture to go on the fridge :rotfl:
good luck with the cushions that sounds quite complicated to me
MURIE ooh your DDs birthday bits sound absolutely gorgeous and very chic, yes i know the younger ones do underestimate stress and the knock on effects, i think if she wasnt juggling so many plates in the air she could stand back and see what i see
PRINCESSKITTY oh your poor DH, my DD2 saw a chiropractor for years when she was a young teenager he was fantastic and the only one to take her seriously and help with her scoliosis and back pain, each session the first thing he would do was check her hips were aligned. She used to get fantastic results with him but unfortunately he retired! Keep your chin up honey, before you know it DH will be back to normal daddy duties! Yes it gets her very down not being able to pick him up, put him in the car etc but its worth persevering for now i keep telling her. The pain i have had the last few weeks is getting much better now but today my fibro has been very bad (i cant win, and i am fed up whinging as well) i just cant wait to get to drs and try and sort everything out, thankyou for asking. Wow a car!!!! that is fantastic, i am quite lucky winning draws and comps but it is always small prizes never the big ones haha!

Woo hoo, bet you can't wait for that new bed FREE. I think you've done really well lasting this long.
I had to Google Kate Spade too - some nice bits but wow those prices. I know what you mean MURIE, I bet the bag is fab but too lazy to Ely to spoil by filling it up lol.
PRINCESSKITTY I do hope DH can get his hips sorted out and you can have your parenting partner back. It must be very difficult for him not to pick Wiggle up because it's virtually a reflex action isn't it. I can't lift anything for six weeks after my surgery which means no nanny carries for the little ones, it's not going to be easy.
The pre -op assessment went as well as it could and I do feel a bit reassured seeing how the various clinicians are all working together. I saw the stoma nurse before the pre-op and she was really kind so I feel in good hands although I'm trying not to think about it.
Going to a couple of small vintage fairs tomorrow with DD and my sis so that will be nice. It's my last day of eating normally as I start low fibre on Sunday then fasting on Tuesday so I'm planning on making the most of it. Knowing me I bet I won't have much appetite tomorrow lol.
Oh and tonight I thought I could smell something (like you did FREE) and when I went to look the whole of the kitchen and utility room were full of smoke - blooming tumble drier! So that's another thing to sort out. So glad we were there though as I do sometimes go out and leave it on. Had to Febreze the bedding that was in there to try and get rid of the smell - couldn't rewash it cos I can't get it dry. Looks like another AO order is on the cards, my tumble drier is very close to my heart lol.
Hope everyone is ok and JJ is just busy and not poorly. Has anyone heard from her? It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Peppapig Hope that the low fibre diet doesn't prove too restrictive. re the tumble dryer - hope that you manage to get a new one quickly. The tumble dryer is an essential piece of equipment in this house - saves the house looking like a Chinese laundry! :rotfl:
PrincessKitty Your poor DH. Are you managing ok?
Free Hope that it doesn't take you long to save the money for the new mattress as your current one doesn't sound very comfortable.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

pk29,do be careful with yoga and your husbands hips.Ask the chiropractor if it will be ok.I know it's expense but a paid for class would be better as the instructor is qualified.Wishing your husband a speedy recovery.
Enjoy the new bed frame Free and heres hoping it wont be long until it's joined by a new mattress.I am busy today, starting divorce proceedings as Mr V and I attempt to build a flatpack sentry box shed for outside the back door.It is to keep brushes and the mop bucket in.I have no tall storage in this new kitchen and I have had the understairs made into a loo,Mrs Brown stylee. So what I am saying is I will get the sewing machine out tomorrow and leave it out until I make the cushion covers.
Peppa,It will be all over and done with soon and then its just getting on with your life.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Murie, hows things with your husbands work?

freespirit DH keeps wanting to help and pick Wiggle up but i've told him it's not worth it, it's no good for us if he puts himself back again. He just needs to get through the treatment and see how he is. He is really impressed with the chiropractor he's seeing, although we'll be moving just after this course of treatment ends so if he needs any more he'll have to find a new one. Oh you poor thing, if it's not one thing it's another, it always seems to be the way. I hope you can get to the DR's soon (I know this is hard for you) and get some help. Don't worry about whingeing – we all need to sometimes! We all do our fair share on here and it really helps us. I'm the same as you, i've won a few little competitions but never the big ones! Maybe one day…
Peppapig it is hard not to pick up a little one for a cuddle isn't it? I'm sure your little grandnibs will still come and give you some lovely, gentle cuddles. It's always a relief when everyone works together and you feel like you're in good hands, I hope you do get to enjoy your food before the new diet! I'm not trying to scaremonger but please be careful about your tumble drier, I saw on the news recently someone's started smoking and then it didn't take long for the house to burn down. Like I say i'm not trying to scaremonger and I think it was a faulty batch of tumble driers but it has made me a bit more aware of using mine and being vigilant.
3forholidays yes I am managing thanks for asking, although it's more tiring and i'm trying to be careful with my back too as i'm doing a lot more bending and lifting without DH's help.
Vulpix yes DH won't be doing anything without the chiropractors say so! We are very wary now. The only thing with going to a paid class is that we wouldn't be able to go together as we don't have anyone to babysit just yet. Although i'm sure it is good to have an instructor to advise you on your posture etc. Good luck with the sentry box – I try to avoid DH at all costs when there's any DIY/making of furniture to be done!0 -
I hope you don't mind but I just wanted to post a few pictures from Christmas last year, I wanted to post them at the time but I couldn't save them in the right format at the time so couldn't do it!
Here is my hot chocolate station:
Our North Pole Breakfast:
I made these Snowman Popcorn packs for my Godson and his brother from an idea I saw on Pinterest. I also added a sachet of Nesquick hot chocolate to each pack as i'd received them as free samples:0 -
Evening everyone, well DS did me proud today bless him, he isnt into diy in the slightest and what my ex had done to the bed grrrrr seen as it was a massive superking size sleigh bed in a tiny room it couldnt have been any harder :rotfl:but old bed all in garage now (unfortunatly added to the tip pile
) 10 years of dirt, dust, dog hair and crap (massive bed, tiny room = no way of getting under to clean) cleaned up, floor mopped and i have a nice shiny new bed, and even with Thumpers travel cot i still have lots of room, its also another part of exH gone out of my life too!!
PEPPAPIG im glad you are having a lovely day out today, hope it took everything off your mind even if just while you were out! Glad you feel reassured everyone is on the same page! Im sure your lovely GC will sidle up on the sofa and give you gentle hugsOh god im so glad you were at home because as PK says we have had a lot on the news recently about defective TDs and peoples homes catching fire, i did receive a letter but it was for a TD i had years ago luckily not my current one, like you i couldnt live without my tumble (sad but very true)
3FORHOLIDAYS oh blimey i hope it doesnt take too long either the state of it when i took it off the old bed and put it on the new its in awful condition :rotfl:
VULPIX haha did you need to see a solicitor or was it all completed with no hiccups?
PRINCESSKITTY i know what you mean, after mon and tues running around after Thumper and DD2 my back was a gonner by the evening, you dont realise how many times you pick them up do you? And up and down getting water and hot water bottles for DD2 it all starts again mon comingOh i love your christmas piccies, they have right cheered me up, did you write the chalk board yourself? It looks fab! As does your popcorn/nesquick holders

Had a lovely day today and DD was very pleased she picked up a couple of fab vintage items in the charity shops and a lovely trio (cup, saucer and tea plate) and some vintage brooches at the two fairs. We also had a nice lunch although the stop for tea and cake was a bit of a disappointment - mind you we had left it quite late. Was a good day though.
FREE I bet your bedroom feels fab and how lovely to have removed a remnant of your ex - every time you look at your lovely new bed you can feel all independent and strong.
PRINCESSKITTY your pics are lovely - it's always the right time for Christmas pics in my book. You're right about the drier, I'll never go out and leave it on now and I've told DH we mustn't go to bed and leave the dishwasher on any more either. If we hadn't been here to turn it off it could have been much worse.
3FORHOLIDAYS I hate damp washing hanging around too - if it can't be tumbled it goes on the radiators so it dries quickly. I could never have underfloor heating - where would I dry everything?!
Oh I forgot to say we've decided to have the garden re-turfed. Every year we mess about trying to 'improve' things ourselves and it never works so we had a quote this week and it's going to be done in March. They'll leave me two small flower beds and work round the few plants I want to keep but other than that it's take it all away and start again. I do admire you gardeners but I know I'll never be one of you - I enjoy doing my pits for the front but the rest is just beyond me. Once they've done we can hopefully get a new shed for the gardening stuff and then we have to power wash and treat the decking and try to rescue the sadly neglected garden furniture. All we'll need then us some sunshine.
Going to do the rounds and visit family tomorrow - hope everyone has a nice Sunday. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Hi all
Free, I'm sorry to hear you are feeling low again. Please do not feel it is a weakness to take medication. If you let yourself slide too far it takes much longer to get back up. Been there, done that and it's terrible. I have recently had to begin taking AD's although it is not because I am low, but to help manage the anxiety symptoms. I was getting palpitations, pins and needles in my hands and feet then numbness in my arm and coming up into my face. These have all receded as the meds kick in but I know it will be a while till I can begin to come off them but I don't care. I need to be in control at work-and home.
UFOs…….I have a cricket jumper on needles from 28 years ago for my husband. I think its about a 32 chest. Even if I finish it it will not now fit as he is now a 52 inch!!!!!! I also have a half done cross stitch which I began when I was pregnant. The baby is now almost 21 !!!
Free...again. Ikea sell some fab mattresses. Not sure what you need but we bought all ours from there a couple of years ago and they are still like new. Doubles were £200.
Well, we have had a trying few weeks here. MY DH's gout started, then he developed tooth ache, he has been to hospital for a colonoscopy- all clear thankfully, then yesterday woke with the left side of his face all swollen to the point where he could hardly open his eye. Emergency appointment at the dentist and he has commenced on antibiotics. Due to pain, and being stressed about the procedure and outcome, he is very grumpy at present. It would normally wash over me but I now feel myself getting grumpy with him. Not good!
Well, off to do some cleaning as I have been too busy with life over the ast few days to do much of anything.
See you all soon
Hugs to all who need them
xxxStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
Loving de-cluttering0 -
NNN2 lovin the ufo's.Life is a b-t-h sometimes, but it's all part of family life.I often thank my lucky stars when the family are being a pain as even that is better than being alone.I don't think I would fare well without the hustle and bustle of family life.
pk29 love the pics,I look on the elfilicious pinterest board and my own christmas board regularly.love it.
peppa I have garden envy.I love gardening but at the moment mine is a pile of rubble and hardcore from the building work.gardening can be so expensive,I am trying to seek out gardeners in the village and plead poverty so they donate their thinnings to me.I just cannot spend much on planting, the landscaping will cost a mint.
Free, the DIY was painless. Some friends turned up so we couldn't bicker in front of people!I love the little box so much i would like to keep it in the house, can't think how to rearrange things to do it though.Enjoy your new bed and the space created by your ex!
Confession,I didn't get the sewing machine out yet.I have spent hours touching up the painted wicker baskets.
We are off out now to a comedy night.Laters Vx:0
