  • Well we exchanged on our house sale and purchase yesterday! It is a relief to have finally got there. The only trouble yesterday was that we had gone to view a rental property last weekend that is available when we need it, having told the estate agents that we were looking for a 6 month contract and told it was fine. We even spoke to them yesterday prior to exchange and they said it would be fine to ring afterwards and put the fee down for taking it off the market, however when we rang back after exchange they then tell us that the landlord wants a longer let! Why didn't they check beforehand?? Grrrr. We have told them from the start what we were after, they reassured us various times that it would be fine, however no-one thought to check with the landlord! Luckily we specified that we wanted 8 weeks from exchange to completion to give us enough time to find a rental property, but it is worrying trying to find something that is available when we need it. We really don't want to have to stay with parents even for a short amount of time because that would mean moving 3 times this year!

04624181 I'm glad to hear your appointment went well, that must be a relief. I do hope you get an appointment soon to hear the results.

0462 really glad the scan went well. Hope you don't have to wait too long before you hear from your consultant.

Congratulations PRINCESSKITTY that's great news on the new house. How stupid of the estate agent not to have checked the rental period with the landlord - maybe it's fate though and you'll find a much better short term rental soon.

Had a lovely week with DGD here although must admit I did enjoy not getting up early this morning :D

  • Ha ha ha TrendyJenny, its usually me who is the last to return, so pleased you are here again, hope you are having a great 2016 so far.
l had a bit of a greenhouse disaster yesterday, l thought l'd do an hour or so tidying up in there, but realised l was not alone, a ring dove was sitting on the staging eating my early shoots of herbs . l went to help it get out of there but the stupid thing panicked, flapped about, knocked the whole tray off the shelf and managed to get itself down the back of the staging , knocking various pots and trays off as it went. Now don't get me wrong, l LIKE the birds but l was cussing this one as l tried to move the staging in my thick bramble clearing gloves, then l reached in and got hold of it , well, hold of a handful of feathers, it repaid me by trying to peck me, and then pooing on the glass. Not to be deterred, Mrsl the superhero made another grab at it, got a better grip and ....... no l didn't wring its wretched neck, l set it free. The damn thing flew onto the conservatory roof and pooed again (where does it all come from?) as if to say 'l won!' then flew off into the conifers, and l swear it was laughing. My hour in the greenhouse was extended while l tried to repair the damage. l cant see how it got in there, but someone must have opened the door .
My DGNs birthday today, how can he be 6 already? He is terrifically into his football, his swimming and Ben 10 so plenty of choice for his present. He is having a 'clip and climb' party for his friends and a birthday tea for the oldies.
  • Afternoon everyone, i keep going awol because i cant get rid of this flipping pain still, i have resorted to different painkillers which is taking the edge off it, i had to i am falling into my depression again, praying at night not to wake up in the morning, tearful, no interest in anything, feeling hopeless and a burden to everyone, and i am determined not to go back on the ADs  sorry for being so maudlin! On a brighter note i ordered easter eggs for my DS, DD1 and DD2s OH in my shop last week while they are on offer, so with Thumpers Build a Bear Dinosaur i got on offer last year that is the majority done, i just need to make a SW treat bouquet for DD2 as i dont want to get her chocolate when she really wants to lose weight.

LINZ im so glad DS is finally sorted now and you know exactly what the problem is, i agree that they dont listen my DD2 is having a nightmare with her s****y doctor who has virtually accused her of being a neurotic mother!! I am absolutely fuming she is being labelled this just because she wants to sort his eating problems and constipation problems out, when you have a baby who is crying and screaming when he is going to the toilet is not being neurotic!!!

CHRISSY yeah i agree i just put money/gift card in nieces and nephews cards now and have cut down on how much i give them this year as well! (That wont go down well but i dont care) I dont do Mothers Day as havent spoken to my mum for about 14/15 years, only do token gifts for my kids for Easter now as well, otherwise it all gets too much!

04624181 glad the scan went smoothly hope you arent waiting too long for the results x

PRINCESSKITTY congratulations on the house exchanges thats fab news, no wonder EA have such a bad reputation they just tell you what you want to hear im afraid without checking the facts!

PEPPAPIG glad you had a lovely week with DGD, hope you are having a restful few days now :)

TRENDYJENNY hi and welcome back to the thread

VULPIX yayy canada is booked, i bet you cant wait!! Sorry to hear about your knee, hmm that doesnt sound nice at all, i was like that when i turned 40 it just all went downhill from there :rotfl:

Peppapig great news re the scan results
    princesskitty congrats on the exchange
04624181 glad the scan went well its a horrible thing to have

still struggling with the after effects of the flu type thing we had glad it was half term as we've had lots of lie ins and just chilled. I do feel bad I didn't do much with the kids but they have been happy to get extra tv/console time and I just haven't had the energy and can't shift this flipping cough. Did order a few bits from the argos 1/2 term toy sale including some mega bloks sets for 1/3 original price a disney hair styling set £5.99 and a barbie type doll with extra clothes £5. also got some reduced blind bags for taz's easter egg - he loves the playdoh egg vids on youtube so going to make one rather than get sweets.
did buy some of the b2b2f easter eggs from tesco but they seem to have eaten themselves already :o
meant to be going out for my birthday this wk but not sure I really feel up to it

I know its a little early but incase I don't get back on before murie & jj have a happy birthday :bdaycake:

this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

Wow, where is everyone - no posts for 24 hours (unless my iPad is playing up lol).

VULPIX I think we must be falling apart together :D

FREE so sorry to hear you're still suffering pain and the horrible knock-on effect it's having in bringing your depression back. Chronic pain can black out everything else and it must be so hard to have to fight it every day. I do hope your new painkillers can give you some relief but please don't see going back on antidepressants as failure. I know how much you want to avoid it so I hope you can but please take them if you need them. Sometimes we all need some help and if you've got off them before you can do it again. I will be thinking of you xx

MANDCO some of these viruses seem to hang around for ages - hope you're soon free of this one.

MRSINVISIBLE you were a star, I'd have just run out screaming.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TOMORROW MURIE!!!!!!! :beer:Hope you're ok
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Hi all, i've been busy here as DH's back went yesterday morning when he was picking Wiggle up and he has been bedridden ever since. He got up to go to the loo and realised he couldn't bear to stand so had to crawl along the floor, not good. Luckily he has private healthcare through his work and has an appointment to see someone tomorrow. It's horrible to see someone in so much pain. I'm hoping it's nothing too serious, DH is getting paranoid that it's going to be an ongoing problem with his back. It happened a few weeks ago when he was hoovering but it was much worse yesterday. Hopefully we'll get an idea of what's happened at his appointment.

vulpix I'm sorry to hear that about your knee, I know the injections sound scary but i'm sure you'll be glad you had them afterwards! My nan had osteoporosis and it has started to come out in my mum so i've been thinking that I should probably change my diet a bit and do some exercises that can help my bones. I know I can't prevent it but every little helps. Yay for Canada – that is definitely something to look forward to!

mrsinvisible blimey I didn't think greenhouses could be filled with so much excitement! I wouldn't really have known what to do! Times does seem to go so fast with little ones doesn't it? Now, I may be a bit dim, what is a 'clip and climb' party?!

freespirit oh I am so sorry to hear you are still in pain and feeling so low. You are such a wonderful lady, I am sure you are not a burden to anyone. It is a horrible feeling, I hope with a bit of rest you can beat the pain and chase the BD away. As you know we are always here when you need to get things off your chest. Bless your poor DD, it is horrible when doctors make you feel like you're wasting their time! Can she see a different doctor? Well done on losing more weight! That's a big positive. Big hugs. Xx

mandco I hope you feel better soon. When is your birthday I couldn't see it on the list?

    Welcome back Trendyjenny!

Well the only thing i've managed to do in the last couple of days in between running around after Wiggle and DH is order some Easter cellophane bags. Getting there slowly!
  • I meant to say fiesty i'm not sure if you're reading or not but I really hope everything is going well for you guys and that you are adjusting to life as a family. I hope DH's health has improved. Thinking of you. xx
