  • Pixie Fairydust I also have a diary, to-do list and mini notes with tasks for each day! Those stockings are lovely, i'd like to wake up to one of those! The Reindeer Club sounds intriguing!

CHRISSYG how nice for your DD that she had such a wonderful time, you must both be very happy. It's great she's already planning other getaways, what lovely places to go to.

murie oh no! There's nothing worse than when water appears where it shouldn't be! I hope you managed to get it all sorted ok.

newthrift it sounds like you've got a lovely break planned with friends and you can't beat a hot tub!

freespirit poor DD2, how is she managing with work? I LOVE that the person got pulled over!! Whenever that happens to me I always wish that I see them pulled over up the road! I would have smiled and waved as I drove past.

msgigglewick wow you're doing well with the exercise, keep it up!

mandco can you put lots of words of things that the person likes? Hobbies? Work etc?

fiesty I hope everything os going ok, thinking of you.

Apart from getting a couple of presents in the New Look sale I haven't done anything else Christmassy. I've just been organising the Valentines cards for the grandparents from Wiggle. Annoyingly I thought i'd bought some thin card (from Amazon) but when it came it's just slightly thicker paper, so not great for cards. But i'll just have to go with it for now.

DD slept most of Sunday but seemed ok yesterday although it looks like she is coming down with a cold now.

Our next job is to have her implant removed we were told it was for her Epilepsy BUT I have found paperwork in the magnet box that has tick boxes as to the reason for it and Epilepsy isn't the reason but clinical trial is ???? We would never have gone for it had this been explained to us . I feel a complaint coming on.

Does anyone follow a low carb plan ? I really need to sort myself out and this seems to be a good option.

    I do :)

I eat a higher fat, medium protein, lower carb diet, the idea being you fuel yourself with fats & protein & your body burns the stored fats as it can see it is getting enough new fats that it doesn't need them anymore. 7lbs gone in 2 weeks so far. Only another 60odd to go lol

example Dinner would be lamb cutlets seasoned in curry spice & full fat greek yogurt then fried in coconut oil. served with a leafy salad with walnut oil & vinegar dressing.

sign up for myfitnesspal & look for the low carber forum, it has a lot of info on there.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Yes, 'paleo' and 'Whole30' are both low-carb. No grain (at all - no wheat, no rice, no oats, no corn, no millet, no substitutes), no refined sugar and no dairy. Whole 30 is stricter, with no sugar substitutes being allowed either (no agave, honey, etc).

With these you get your carbs from veg (a LOAD of veg, it's wonderful), protein from nuts, meat & eggs, and fibre from veg and orchard/seasonal fruit.

I did it for 30 days last year, it was tough but effective, lost a dress size and it hasn't gone back on yet - but that's probably because I kept most of the principles of the diets. Breakfast now is an ommelette, every day, it's amazing. Dinners have way more veg than they used to and I don't miss the carbs. Occasionally I'll have some mash with a cottage pie, but usually I'll just do sliced root veg & sweet potatoes (which are permitted) instead.

    Good luck!

Those diets sounds interesting, may look into them a bit later.

Loo is fixed! Not too bad at £60, especially bearing in min the damage that could have been caused by it.

Chrissy- too right that implant(and more importantly the resons for it!) are sorted out quickly! Hpe it can be sorted with minimum stress and hassle for you x

Princesskitty- those cards sound like a really lovely idea for the grandparents! Valentines is going to be a bit low key this year as DS broke up with his girlfriend on Saturday. They have been in the same small circle of friends since they were 11 and have been a couple for 8 years, through college , Uni and establishing a career each. Its really quite sad but these things happen, it was his decision and not taken lightly. So, for this year we have to reign in our own valentines for his sake- feels like we would be rubbing his nose in it, and I don't want to cause him any additional upset.

Free- yup Karma is a hell of a b***ch- don't ya just love it when some smarmy so and so gets it!

Mandco- wow! 45 gifts already! You are on a roll!!

Feisty- I'm hoping no news is good news , and that everything is going smoothly xx

Newthrift- love the sound of the hot tub!

Mrs Gigglewick- you are doing brill with all that exercise.
Well DD STILL hasn't had her windscreen done because autoglass haven't had the screen in yet- after making 3 telephone calls today she was told it can take a maximum of 10 days! And all the time the crack gets longer and longer! They have assured her that its safe to drive but Im not too happy about it.
    lovin' this site!

  • Evening everyone,

PRINCESSKITTY dd2 is used to just getting on with it in pain bless her, she has been in pain since she was 8 years old, i dont know how she does it! She has a step under her desk to help her back and also uses a hot water bottle there. Oh isnt it annoying when you order something and it isnt what you thought you were ordering, mine is usually size, things always seem to be smaller than in the pictures :D

CHRISSY omg that is outrageous to include your DD in a clinical trial without speaking with you first and to keep it hidden is just unbelievable, i hope you get it sorted properly with the truth and an apology

Aww what a shame it didnt work out for your DS after all that time, but you never know perhaps he just needs a bit of space and then realises it is what he wants, or that he has made the best decision rather than live a lie! Fingers crossed for DD, i cant believe in this day and age it takes 10 days to get a windscreen!!
