  • Another one bites the dust! Just been speaking to my landlord, he caught one while in there! He also owns next door and nipped into them to see if they had an issue, couldn't believe it when 2 had the audacity to run across into the kitchen, tenant was shocked as didn't realise he had a problem. As long as it looks as if they are all gone before I go away, I don't care, the thought of coming back in new year to see evidence fills me with absolute dread.

    Not very Christmassy, is it?:D

GTQ- hasn't your landlord got a duty of care to ensure the property is pest free? failing that contact your local council to see if they offer a pest control service?

He has yes, but is as frustrated as I am about the whole situation. I am happy to continue whatever treatment he starts, but if this latest type of poison doesn't sort it out, he said that he will get a pest control company in, situation generally doesn't last this long. Hope it doesn't come to that because it means I will have to take time off work for the visits. Getting the time off isn't the problem, it is the faffing about waiting for them that bugs me.

Saw panto tonight. Matthew Kelly & Tim Vine work together so well, this is the third time I think that I have seen them. Arlene Philips was not that great, we allowed for the fact it was her first time & it was the first night, but were not that impressed with her dancing. One of the girls I was with teaches dance and was amazed at how poor she was. Kids love it though!

  • Hi all, sorry i've have been AWOL for ages, i've been quite poorly. The wonderful news is that i'm expecting my second baby, due in June, but unfortunately i've got the dreaded HG back that I suffered with Wiggle. It's been a difficult couple of months here, DH had to have some time off work to look after Wiggle and we've had to put Wiggle into nursery for a couple of mornings a week which we hadn't planned to do so it was all a bit rushed. Unfortunately 12 weeks in i'm still feeling as rough as ever. :( Christmas is totally passing me by this year and we won't be doing any of my grand plans, I just can't muster any enthusiasm for it as I feel so sick! We've managed to put the tree up and think that'll be it for our decorating this year! It's certainly going to be a quiet affair in our house without the trimmings.

Still, we know we are really fortunate and I just have to keep hoping that one of these days I will start to feel better. I think I will probably go overboard at Christmas next year to make up for this one!

I'm sorry I have probably missed lots of news, I will try to catch up one day when I get my mojo back. xx

Hi everyone, not long now until the big day! I managed to do some wrapping last night, it makes me feel much better to know I have started. I was prompted to wrap as I was just thinking about ordering DD a cd and the post arrived with a parcel..... The cd. I had obviously forgotten I had ordered it and nearly ordered it for a second time. I have still got loads to wrap but I am writing EVERYTHING down as I have wrapped it. I can say that DD is done! need some more foodie bits, probably just a couple of bits to add to main gifts for my mum & dad and DH parents and then we will be done. I have lost the cards I bought in January sales but have got 2 more boxes to look through so Im not buying anything yet.

Princesskitty29- Congratulations! What wonderful news. Sorry to hear that you are unwell though.
GTQ- Sorry to hear you still have visitors, hopefully the landlord can get it all sorted and get them "evicted" xx
Free- Mmmm fudge sounds lovely, do you have a recipe to share please? I am hoping to add some homemade goods to parents presents.
Chrissyg- Hope your dd feels better soon x
Peppa- It sounds like you had a wonderful lunch with the girls, glad to hear you are busy with fun things before christmas.
Mrs Moneypenny- You are officialy christmas superwoman! The cards look gorgeous. What do you gift for secret santa? I am struggling to think as we are told no chocolates and no biscuits.
Vulpix- glad you had a great day at chester, I always love it there when we visit.
nic2075-the gingerbread playdough sounds lovely and its inspired me to make it with the DD. I have now finding my christmas mojo, thank goodness. Hope you a nice night out.
mandco- Sorry to hear about your tree, have to admith though it did mak me giggle. Our schools do not break up until 20th and 22nd dec.
Hanley25- sounds like a fantastic nativity of your dds. Children like her make the whole experience much more fun to watch xx
murie- Well done on the wrapping, I bit the bullet and wrapped gifts last night. I put some christmas tunes on and sat upstairs wrapping away.

Huge CONGRATULATIONS PRINCESS KITTY, blooming nuisance to have the horrible sickness back but hope it won't be too long til you feel more like yourself. Don't worry, your plans will be just as lovely next year.

CHRISSY sorry to hear about poor DD, hope she's feeling much better very soon.

FREE microwave booze fudge sounds very desirable!

0462 glad you're feeling Christmassy now.

CLUMSY hope you're feeling better too. It's such a pain when you're ill in the run up to Christmas but hopefully you'll be all clear very soon.

GTQ I think it will be worth the hassle of the pest control people to get it sorted - you don't want uninvited guests interrupting your Christmas dinner!

MURIE was that Bailey peeking through the tree?

Just waiting for DGD to arrive, she's staying here overnight as DD has her work Christmas do tonight and they all stay in the hotel afterwards. Step DD has just left after picking up all the church gifts and charity shop stuff and their own pressies so a bit more room now although still overrun with boxes and bags of dog, cat and rabbit food and gifts for Project Santa Paws :D
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Princesskitty- congratulations toy you both! I hope the HG settles down soon and that you can enjoy your pregnancy. There will be lots of Christmas's in the future for your to decorate to your hearts content. Don't worry about catching up with us lot, we will still be here when you are in better health x

042 I start off writing everything in my beautiful Christmas planner then tend to forget where I have put the planner over the course of the year!

Peppa- yes it is the little darling peeping out from the tree! Over night he has run off with one of my new glass sweetie decorations and I cant find it anywhere! Enjoy your sleepover (and the fact you have a little more room in which you could swing the proverbial cat- you can borrow this little monster if you like lol)

Everyone - Do you want me to set up the new thread for 2017? If so, I'll need to think about a suitable thread title.... any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :)

  • Congratulations kitty! Hope the sickness passes soon. What a miserable experience.

0462.. your school breaks up late! Ours is the 16th!!!! DS has a party in the 19th, childminder on 20th and 21st, off to my parents' on the 22nd and 23rd as I've still got work. Given I work for the church I can't take that week off! Haha!

The last few gifts are wrapped. I need to post off the postal ones next week and we'll make fudge and maybe marshmallows. I need to steal equipment from parents to do marshmallow. They've asked me to bring after 8s and chocolate/sweets suitable for DS and I said I'd do salmon for boxing day, other than that they've got everything sorted. We don't have Christmas cake so I might bring along some nice baked treat.

My budget book gift to myself for Christmas has a separate Christmas section, including a bit for gifts listing price and recipient. I do love this book much more than what can be deemed normal!
  •:wave::wave:Just rushing in to say a huge thank you for my card which arrived today & the tree decoration. Rushing out again
