Hi all. I've not posted for a very long time and I seemed to completely loose my Xmas mojo this year. I left present buying until quite late and seem to have been in a blind panic this last month trying to get everyone sorted. My hubby is 1 of 8 and I'm 1 of 4 and we all still buy for each other plus neices and nephews (we have 8 between us plus another 1 due 12th Dec!) Needless to say it's been a manic month. Anyway I finally seem to be back on track after hitting the shops this weekend!

DS was sent home from school yesterday with a stomach bug. They were practicing for the Xmas concert in the local chapel and he did not make it to the bathroom bless him. I feel quite sorry for the teachers! He was perfectly fine all day, it just came on in the chapel! He was supposed to have one concert today and one tomorrow. He's seems a lot better today thankfully so hopefully he will make tomorrow's concert but I have to wash and dry his costume beforehand!

I'm thinking because I have an impromptu day off work that I'll get some wrapping done or write out my cards. Best wishes and hugs to all who need them.

Peppa I have put a couple of wood creatures on the Elfilicious pin board.I could see a whole woodland scene going on in your front garden.I would have sent it direct but my IT skills are too basic!

  • those pictures are great, l love 'unique' trees, sorry, had to pause there to watch one of our red squirrels running along the fence . Over the years (lam a very very old mrsl) we have had wonky ones, wobbly ones , threadbare and needl less ones and they each had a story attached, which cronologues (spelt wrongly) my life.
This years trees are artificial, years old but once they are out of the box, l keep remembering all those stories.
Waiting for about half a dozen presents to arrive, just bits and bobs, then l will be finished. only 2 more hampers to make, so why am l procrastinating? today will be a day of lists and the kitchen timer, so off l go.
Still haven't done this months challenge, but would like to continue it next year, please.

    Morning everyone!

Been quite busy these past few days. Started decopatching (new word! :D) monday afternoon and still have loads to do. Turns out small wooden hearts have edges that are fiddly to cover! :rotfl: Hopefully I can finish them today so I can leave them to dry and thread them on the sparkly gold twine.

Went to B&M yesterday. Managed to get some bits to finish presents for some people. Home Bargains at 8.30ish this morning () managed to get some bath bombs and gift bags, now just need some Lush stuff and I'll be finished buying finally!

The reason I was up and out so early was that my sister had a ridic. early doctor's appt. I came along cause I love the toast in Booths' cafe for breakfast. :T It was nearly worth getting up early for! :rotfl:

Hope those who are feeling under the weather perk up soon. xx

Here's my attempt at putting up a picture of my wreath.... (Apologies if I do something dumb!)

MURIE sorry to hear you're full of cold, it's miserable isn't it. I hate having a cold and usually end up with anything that's doing the rounds. This year I haven't had even one - I don't know if it's the chemo killing off the infection cells or because I've kept away from crowded places and anyone with a cold or any other type of infection. Whatever it us it's worked and long may it continue lol. Hope you feel better very soon.

FRAN your rag wreath is lovely, you must be very pleased with it, I know I would be. I think you're right, it could be time to change the tree - keep the decs though and the magic of christmases past will stay with you.

CLUMSY well done on the decopatch, can we have pics when you're done please?

VULPIX I'll pop over to Pinterest and have a look at the board.

HANLEY nice to see you back but sorry to hear you've list your mojo. I usually find my Christmasness peaks in November then fades off in mid December before coming back just before Christmas Eve. Hope yours is soon back, spending time on here us a good first step lol.

PRINCESSKITTY hope you manage to get back on soon.

PINKSTEPS I know you're reading so sending you get well soon vibes and a big virtual hug. :D

Been over to DD's today and did a few of the outstanding jobs. Littlest DGS (autism) is making fabulous progress and is init!ating contact and saying lots more words. DD was over the moon the other day because he said Mummy rather than just Mmm or Ma. He's just so darned gorgeous. DH said he was saucy last week and now he keeps pointing and saying Grandad saucy. He doesn't say Grandad clearly but it's near enough bless him.

Its official i'm a Yankee candle convert, my sister bought me one in April but it just stood on the shelf until a drain issue and rubbish air freshners made me wonder if it would help. It lovely and fragrant so much so i have bought a burner and melts but also saw a pack of 12 christmas melts for £8 so had to buy them too.

We finally put the outside lights up today watched by muttley now when ever the door opens he rushes into the front garden to watch them and then ignores you when you shout him in!

Its the Coca Cola truck tomorrow DD is excited me not so much but he ho.

Wow Hanley, that's a big family!

Tell me about it. :rotfl: we've had at least 1 new baby for Xmas every year for the past 11 years! I do love being around the kiddies though. At family parties I'm always the one sat at the kid table playing with them all (normally plying them all with sugary treats and get them all nicely wound up for their parents :rotfl:)!

    Your wreath is gorgeous!

I'm normally like you so excited until around November time and then it fades off til Xmas Eve. But this year I just haven't been as excited as usual. No idea why. In the past I was always a lurker on this thread, posting every now and again but this year I didn't come on here at all. In October I thought to myself "I wonder what all the Xmas lovelies are up to?" And I have to admit it was one of the things that spurred me on to get Xmas sorted! I love reading everybody's stories so definitely don't plan on missing anything from now on. :D

These are the cards I made today while off with DS. I had already done the stiching, I just put them together this afternoon.
