Hi everyone, WOW how quick is time flying by?
Im trying to keep up with the thread but am failing miserably.
I seem to have lost my wrapping mojo this year, I just cannot bring myself to sit down and do it. I also have not wrote any cards yet ( sorry Pinksteps I will send your card this week I promise:embarasse)
I absolutely love christmas and have loads of fun stuff planned but I just seem to lack any vavoom at getting anything done. Anybody else feeling this way?
With regards to this months Christmas Tree craft challenge I think that we should aim to show our makes by the 20th. If you finish before hand then please feel free to show your crafts. Remember it is for fu and if you do not get chance to do it then please do not worry.
Is this something that everybody would want to continue in the new year? Let me know? Maybe just a craft challenge the first 6 months and we then turn it inot a christmas craft challenge in July. I have made reindeer food for my challenge last month and will picture it as soon as I get 5 mins x

Loving everybodys christmas trees and reindeer crafts. It is certainly beginning to look alot like christmas.

Afternoon everyone, i have been such a miseryguts this last few days, i completely forgot to buy an advent candle, the plastic tree stand has gone funny, hence the christmas tree falling over about 4 times, water all over my wood flooring, baubles everywhere, i was so down i had to offload to poor MURIE but i have put my big girls knickers on and realised i am lucky to have a tree, and even though it is now tied to the window handle and wedged in with the sofa, and the star is wonky and the tree looks the worse for wear it really doesnt matter.

PLUMDUFF i love the little jumper its so cute

PATENTGIRL so glad your dad has come through the op and is now home

MURIE mmm i like the sound of the brioche christmas tree. Your tree looks gorgeous and love your naughty !!!!! cat haha

MRSMONEYPENNY your tree looks really lovely

PEPPAPIG omg that is such a rip off putting the charge up so much i would be fuming too, i am doing click and collect this year

VULPIX can i ask what a mummers parade is? Love that you are trying to avoid the decorator haha it will all be so lovely when its finished

04624181 oh honey the way i have felt the last few days has been ridiculous, i think MURIE is right we invest so much all year long in getting christmas perfect then when it gets near we lose the festive feeling over silly little things. Yep that sounds good about the challenge, i will go along with what everyone wants

Oh FREE sorry to hear you've been down but glad MURIE was there to listen, sometimes just being able to vent to someone is just what's needed. Your wobbly tree reminded me of when my girls were younger and we had an artificial Christmas tree but lost one of the legs so it had three instead of four. Each year I had to tie some string round the trunk and drawing pin it to the wall to keep it upright. :D

0462, reveal on 20th is fine by me and I'm happy to carry on after Christmas.

VULPIX hope you have a lovely day on Thursday, it sounds fabulous. I know how you feel with the decorator. The guy who does bits for us is very good and just gets on with it but some years ago we had a very nice man but boy could he chat and all the time I'd be thinking 'I'm paying for this!' :D

PUMPKIN I wish I'd had internet last night and seen your post, Extreme Christmas Trees sounds right up my street. I'm going to have a look and see if it's on again.

Well I'm going to sign off now in case internet goes down and I lose my post. Back later, fingers crossed.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Free your tree looks lovely, glad you had someone to offload/vent to and feel better now.
Had a neighbour pop round this morning with card and a natter, she can walk as far as mine so brings her further afield but walking distance for me cards to deliver for her as she finds walking difficult now
Gave the rest of my kiddie cards out at work today just gave the staff ones to do now.
Got a Drs appt in a bit so will bung a Christmas book in my bag to read while in the waiting room.

    Have a good afternoon everyone.

Free- everyone needs big girl knickers sometimes, even if they don't like to admit it x I know I do! The tree looks good and the fact that its held up with string and a little wonky gives it character - I bet it will stand out in your memory more than previous years perfectly arranged trees and you will smile about it when you think back. Glad you are a little brighter. My turn to be a misery today as I am sniffling and snuffling like crazy and generally feel meh.
peppa- that hike in delivery fees are disgusting, you have to feel sorry for the delivery drivers this time of year and they don't benefit from the increase I bet.Our childhood Christmas tree( like your tree when the girls were young) was attached to the ceiling every year with some invisible cotton cus it listed so badly -its one of my memories of Christmas when we were teenagers.
0426 yup 20th is Ok for me and Im happy to carry on next year. Im finding it hard to force myself to wrap too so your not on your own.

Vulpix- your day out sounds as if its going to be fab! Yes Bailey has been trying to nibble on the light wires which has worried me.
Mrs moneypenny- that's lovely of you to deliver cards for your neighbour x

Ive been miserable all day, head swimming, sneezing and coughing and generally bad tempered- a real delight to be around! Im hoping to get a better nights sleep tonight so I can put this bad mood to bed.
    Hope everyone is OK

Murie, sorry to hear you are full of cold.At least it will be gone by Christmas.xx

Free, Hugs xx.Your tree looks just lovely.A Mummers play is a traditional play usually with George and the Dragon in it.In Chester they call it Winter Watch. There is a parade through the old streets to hand keys over at the city gates. There's a big dragon,Samba band, fire eaters skeletons etc. It's a great spectacle.I do love a samba band,I play in one myself.

I have made some pompom garlands tonight.Pound shop pompoms threaded onto floss.Coloured for the porch tree and white for the kitchen.

I would love to continue with the crafts.I am going to use one I made last year for this one as things will get busy when the decorator/plumber n carpet fitter have left.

Just talking to my friend who works at Chatsworth.Christmas decorations to aspire to.

  • Free, we had a drunk tree at my parents' one year. I think it was my son's first Christmas, perhaps his 2nd, but we were living with them. We had to use strings of dead fairy lights to tie it to different window handles. We still laugh about it.

Hope you feel better murie. Colds and bugs are nasty, they make you feel awful, but also like you can't moan much because "it's just a cold". I think that feeling adds to irritability. It does in me!

Worked out my dying tree is 25 years old and so maybe it is ok for this to be it's last Christmas, especially as I'm only 29! Mum gave me some more decorations. Some pretty ballet dancers (gone on the tree) and more wonderful, hilarious flamingos, this time carrying gifts, which are hanging from a twiggy thing in the kitchen. Finished my scrappy fabric wreath. Just need to put it up tomorrow.

Framalamadingdong- you are right, I feel guilty moaning about having 'just a cold' but it is knocking me for six at the mo. Those decorations sound really quirky, can you post a pic of your fabric wreath?
