  • Thanks all. Much better again, but need to avoid fat for a bit - boo hoo, as it upsets my tum at the moment.

    Welcome basketcase :)

I've started off the spiced pear vodka to develop for 5-14 days. Smirnoff was £15 for a litre at the co of Tes, but so was 750ml of absolut, so I went for less, but better. We've also had our first go at felting soap. Think I might have another go without DS as they're not quite perfect. I also finished my sewing project that I thought might count as "tree". When (and how) do we show them?

Evening. Not had much time to get on this week to catch up. Just time to skim read and thank posts.

I'm so excited that it's finally December! The elves arrived on the 1st as usual. The kids were so happy to have them back. Been coming for 9 years now. I still love getting up to mischief with them.

FRAN we usually post pics of the challenge on the last day of the month but I think for December we might be doing it before Christmas. 0462 will let us know.

Well the tree is up and decorated - it's massive or rather it looks a lot bigger in my house than it did in John Lewis but I love it. I wanted a big tree and I think I got one! Pics aren't very good as tree blocks most of the light from the windows lol. Anyone else got theirs up and can post pics?

Peppa the tree looks great as do the rest of the decs.
My tree is up will try and post a pic later but need to figure out how to do it again.

Freespirit sounds like you had a productive day its great to tick stuff off your list even if it is only little things. I'd love to have a real tree one day but the cat/dog create enough havoc with the artificial one it'll have to wait for now.

Taz's pressie arrived so I can take the other one back for a refund

Taz is trying really hard to be good. He got a behaviour barometer and reward chart with naughty/nice stickers from the elves and its working really well at the moment.

hoping to get the rest of the decs up tomorrow

ordered a couple of lipbalms on the no7 deal yesterday and got the free gift set too so that's another little gift/stocking filler. They've had a couple of decent offers so worth checking each day

asda are doing the 12 days of prizes http://www.asda.com/christmas/12-days-of-christmas/index.html?cmpid=ahc-_-ahc-_-asdacom-_-hp-_-trending-6-_-12-days-of-christmas

Anyone seen any other online daily calendar offers?

Looking for some inspiration - I've got dd a year long beauty box subscription as one of her presents and not sure how to gift? I thought maybe I could make a little voucher or something but seems a little boring so any ideas appreciated.

    tc all
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

PEPPAPIG - Love the pictures of the tree.

I took our old fibroptic tree and all or boxes of ornaments and tinsel down to my daughter at uni - along with her Advent Parcels and a chocolate calendar. So she'll be getting festive over the weekend.

We used to put our tree up on Christmas Eve, but I've weakened and we'll now be going to buy one from the Forestry Commission on the 17th. So a while to go chez basket.

  • Thanks peppa. I struggle with numbers, they all jumble up with there's more than 3 so I struggle with the lovely challenge lady's name. I love the tree, it's fab and huge! I think we'll be putting ours up tomorrow as we have been so busy today. Your decs are so cute!

You're certainly early with those croissants free! Haha.

Mandco, what about getting a small box with a few beauty bits in and a note inside with the subscription details on. I did a magazine subscription for my brother one year and managed to get the first issue before the big day, I wrapped it up and then told him of the subscription after he unwrapped it and looked a bit baffled. Lol.

How about putting the details onto a voucher then put that into a make up bag which you could then wrap etc?

Mandco,I would print off a fancy card and either put it in a lovely gift box or a fab Christmas card.

I am done for Christmas, with the exception of fresh bread n veg nearer the time. Bought more decorations yesterday.Bad Vulpix,Naughty Vulpix.

Decorator working all weekend too.It is a big job with all new plaster and woodwork in shocking condition.I am trapped in my bedroom at the moment! What he has done has transformed the place already and its only primer. It was so dark and someone had painted all the woodwork with dark brown or dark duck egg very badly.Wood work is now white:D

I may write the Christmas cards. We only send a few to Mr V's old rellies. My family gave up years ago as there are so many of us and as cousins married and their children married it got silly.Me n Mr V have been sending each other the same card for the past 5 years.

Off to my cousins 40th wedding anniversary party later. OMG 40 years and she is younger than me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sorry for being a bit late with my reindeer challenge but I knitted it when on holiday, came home last Sunday and been choked with the cold all week so just got round to sewing it up. This jumper is for my little grandson and I'm giving him it tomorrow so he can wear it lots before Xmas.

I am now absolutely panicking about Xmas. I went on holiday on the 9th November when it was ages till Xmas now all of a sudden it's just 3 weeks and I'm nowhere near organised. Today I'm going to go through my presents as I've forgotten what I've bought and what I've still to buy :rotfl:

Hopefully by this afternoon I will be organised with only a small list of pressies still to buy xx
