Thanks for the kind words. DS is still looking after me. Lord knows where I got him from he's so wonderful (mostly!)!! I went out today which proved to be a bad decision. Ha ha oh well.
We saw Arthur Christmas last year and really enjoyed it. Polar express is DSs favourite. I'm debating whether to take him on a polar express tram ride, but it's £36 for the two of us, plus parking....
That all turned out ok GTQ, bit strange that they only wanted one item. Maybe it was a person who sells through Amazon. Lucky you for the Lego though. Get those tickets sold!
Loving everyone's reindeer makes! Every year I think i should make a tree skirt and I never do. Maybe I should get planning and making!0 -
MURIE that card is lovely. If I can remember how to get onto Instagram I'll try and have a look at your previous make. I think the little reindeer are about 9-10 inches in body length and about 2 feet tall. I'll have a measure tomorrow.
CHRISSY please can we have a pic of the half naked tree? I wonder what's made it more attractive than previous years?
MRSM we're lucky because we live just across the road from some fairly extensive woodland so it's relatively easy to pick up suitable bits of wood although for the bigger reindeer last year we had to pile it up at one of the entrances and pick it up in the car because it was pretty heavy. For the little ones we could just carry it back.
I've watched so many Christmas films this year there can't be many left to see! I don't like the national lampoons films but I actually do like the Christmas one. I like Polar Express but I think Mrs Miracle 2 is one of my favourites and Love Actually of course and one with Whoopi Goldberg 'Call Me Claus' and lots of others but it isn't Christmas for me without the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special lol. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Just a quick one, my mum picked up some £1 scratchcards this week in Poundland, I didn't know they even sold them xx0

Happy advent everyone! The countdown begins properly now. So excited!
I had a lovely time at my future sister in law's hen do, her friends had put a great deal of effort and thought into the event, and everyone had a great time. Felt a little awkward as first as I only knew my Mum and the Hen, but with the organised (and non rude!) games, it all soon warmed up.
Had a wonderful surprise yesterday after a rather rubbish day at work and nightmare journey getting back - my friend had texted me the previous night to ask if I was free as she had something she needed to give me for Christmas... I advised I was going round to my parents for dinner, but as she lives close to them, she could drop it round there. I finally got to my parents to find a huge advent santa sack filled with presents for each day. On top of my L'Occitaine calendar, I feel very spoilt.
I'm still struggling with a couple of kid's Christmas presents, and need to get my Husband a bit more, but hope to be able to get sorted by the end of this week.0 -

Love this idea - I've just bought another friend a print from Poorly Drawn Lines (awesome comic, right up our streets!) so I'll have a look at something similar and see if I can get it shipped directly to her!:xmastree::santa2: wot about ordering a present from amazon australia then she will have a present from you then and you wont have to lug it to the post office:santa2::xmastree:
Good idea but apparently Amazon does not yet exist in Australia! What is all that about - I wouldn't survive without Amazon! Thanks for the support FREE, GTQ, MURIE, MRSI, CHERRY and VULPIX.
I've been reading every day but not really focussed enough to post so going to rectify that now. Apologies in advance if I miss anyone out.
KISSMENOW welcome to the thread and apologies if you've joined in before and I've forgotten.
I've been around a bit before but never post really that consistently.
I hope everything works out for you, thank you for the welcome xx£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
I'm in a good mood this morning, I've opened my advent calendar and my wonderful santa sack chocolates and filled gift boxes arrived today and they are brill.
I was undecided regarding Christmas crackers this year but in the end I've bought some magic ones as I know trying to work out the magic tricks will keep us entertained.
Wow creative gal, sounds like you're going to have a great advent
Peppa - I watched my first Christmas film last night - 'The Bishop's Wife'. I don't know why but I find the older films more festive. Love your reindeers by the way.
Murie - Your reindeer make is beautiful. Love the little cat.
Chrissy - Oh no, what is it with pets and trees? That is strange though that he's never done it before.
Vulpix - I must admit, getting work done on the house drives me mad but it's always worth it in the end.
Free - Love your reindeer, it's really cute. I like the paper too0 -
Just had a text from Park hampers to say they have automatically placed an order for vouchers for next year ! cheeky !!!!!!s i don't think so . I don't want them and after a rude guy on the phone i have requested they close my account.
My new glasses are ready to collect so will collect them later , just had a call to say hubbys car is ready to collect £460 ouch. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just a quick post.
MURIE the small reindeer are 18inches high to the tops of their ears.
CHRISSY ouch at the car bill and what a cheek of Park to enrol you for next year without your permission.
Wow CREATIVEGAL loving the advent Santa sack.
Had my PICC line taken out today - didn't feel a thing. Dropped Christmas biscuits off to oncology and the Macmillan unit and three little pressie bags for the nurses who've been looking after me (1/4 bottle of Prosecco, row of four Ferrero Rocher and some choc coins in a cellophane bag with Santas on). Won't be back at the hospital now until my CT scan on 30th so will be trying to forget about it til after Christmas. Off to release the tree from its box now, back later. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Afternoon everyone, my fingers are so cold i can barely type
i started putting my hot chocolate and coffee station together yesterday still need some more bits though
PEPPAPIG haha if you need any help just yell, i cant believe you thought the instructions were good :rotfl:
i cant wait to see it and your tree. You will easily be able to do decopatching as well, its just buying the proper decopatch paper, ripping it up into small pieces and glueing the item then putting the paper on, then with the brush, brush more glue on top of the paper then overlap the pieces, use the brush to mould them round corners, round bits or egdes, it is very easy to do and very cathartic. Glad the picc line is out and wasnt too painful, yayyy to forgetting all about it and concentrating on christmas
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh that is fab, you have a little extra there then for your raffle or your people you are helping
VULPIX i bet you are so proud how far you have come with the house since last christmas. I bet your decoupage looked lovely!
MURIE oh another fab card you really do make them so pretty, i had some of those reindeers to make cards a few christmases ago they look so effective
PINKSTEPS ooh i didnt know they sold them either, thankyou, hope you all are ok!
CHRISSYG oh blimey i wonder what has set the dog off this year with the tree???Oh dear that isnt good finding that amount of money right on christmas
CREATIVEGAL ooh what a lovely thing for your friend to have done for you

I have exciting news! I committed murder :j
I was so used to seeing the traps not tripped, that it took a minute to register last night that one had. So nice to have finally got one, this has been going on for months, but it wasn't great having to deal with it just before bed:shocked:A smile costs little but creates much0
