Freespirit - I'm with you on the Nightmare Before Christmas. I am a massive Disney nut, absolutely crazy about everything Disney (even have a tree just for my Disney decorations :rotfl:) but I just don't get the fascination with this movie. I think I need to watch it again to see if I click with it more, but the last time I watched it I just lost interest(sorry Feisty xx)

GTQ - Amazon are pretty good with sorting things out. I ordered a Yankee candle from a marketplace seller a while ago & when it arrived it was smashed. I contacted Amazon directly because the item was dispatched by Amazon on behalf of the seller and they just refunded my money with no quibble at all, didn't ask me to return it or anything. I did take photos just in case but they didn't even ask for them. The best thing was it was actually only the lid and the top of the jar that was smashed so the candle was still useable :j

    Hi all,

just skim read to catch up, the flower arrangement looks lovely, the amazon thing is a bit weird (might be a gift from someone? as above), and I absolutely hate Disney (sorry!). Too much fairytale and not enough reality.

Apologies for not being around last few days, been laying a floor, had a sick OH and his birthday, and the nieces climbing all over me. Almost finished shopping for gifts, just need to start on the food now! Its been about 10 years since I made xmas dinner and I don't have a clue! Thankfully left enough time.

Anyway, off to do some more wrapping.

    Hugs to all!
  • Free that arrangement is lovely.

My friend has had the same problem with Amazon. They've had caster wheels sent to them twice now. Unfortunately it's a useless item for her!

Glad I got a hunk of wrapping done on Sunday night as I woke up at 5am Monday morning with a tummy bug! Feeling quite a bit better this afternoon. I work alone and I'm only in for two hours tomorrow so I'll try to make it in. My DS has been so sweet, tucking me in under blankets, telling me to keep warm, drink lots of water and get plenty of rest. Mum and dad have been great. Dad doing the school run and making DS dinner yesterday. They would have had him at theirs but because of moving there's no suitable beds/bedding available. DS told me off this morning saying, "I told you to keep warm!" Because I stood in the porch to say bye to him this morning! He's come home with the news that he's gone up another reading level.

Thanks for the support FREE, GTQ, MURIE, MRSI, CHERRY and VULPIX.

I've been reading every day but not really focussed enough to post so going to rectify that now. Apologies in advance if I miss anyone out.

FREE I remember that floral display and I still love it just as much. Any chance of a tutorial?

MRSINVISIBLE so glad the wedding went off so well and all your hard work was worth the effort.

VULPIX I'd definitely keep the spare tree. I thought about selling our previous one now that I've bought the splendid 7foot specimen but like you I thought if we move it might be to somewhere that I can have two trees so I'm keeping it!

KISSMENOW welcome to the thread and apologies if you've joined in before and I've forgotten.

FRANALAMADINGDONG that's really annoying about the boxless shoes but I'm glad you were able to use the lovely box anyway.

SPENDLESS ha ha at DH and the headless jigsaw picture.

CHRISSY so glad you and DD enjoyed the meerkats after the disappointing outing last week.

MRSM glad the concert was fabulous. I must admit I don't really know much about him, think I'll have to Google to find out more.

Well, I had a lovely weekend with DD2 and DGD, the only downside is that I really miss them now they've gone home. On the plus side though DD has her work Christmas do on 10th so DGD will be back for the weekend. Had a lovely time yesterday with DD1 and the DGSs celebrating littlest DGS's third birthday.

I've finished my reindeer challenge at last! :T I have to confess that DH helped me but I supervised and designed. Will post pics tomorrow.

Going to put the Christmas tree up on Thursday - I can't wait! :j

My mum went to see it last year, she was excited beyond belief:rotfl: She had every right to be, she lives in a small rural area & it was a huge event for someplace so small. Admittedly, where it was parked is a very suitable place, loads of parking, someplace to have a hot drink, those driving on main road could see it, they chose well & people came from virtually all over the province to see it.

Evening all! Feels like I haven't posted in ages!

Traipsed round a big retail park today. I already regret it lol. Probably wont be able to move tomorrow. :rotfl:

In Hobbycraft I got some decopatch hanging stars to decorate for a Christmas craft swap I do. Just need to order some papers to decorate them with. Was quite happy because my student discount (Alumni card this year ) still worked on top of offers. Got 3 'paint your own' things (money banks and photo frame) for the price of 2 there as well.

Also bought some new boots (with actual grip on the soles instead of being entirely flat:rotfl:) from Clarks. Bit annoyed I missed the discounts and had to pay full price but they should last a few years anyway. Here's hoping the soles are rugged enough for my clumsy self on icy pavements...

Still have some people to finish off present wise. But they're small things really. Also need to get some wrapping paper. My Asda doesn't have the one I want. :(

Should be getting some deliveries this week. Did a DP order and got myself a new top that I saw and immediately NEEDED lol. Got some discount on that too. :T

Free - Love that floral display! Looks like something that would cost a few bob to buy at a garden centre. :D

Peppa - Glad you got back into your account. I must confess I'd have missed your usual name! Hope everything goes well for you in the future xxxx

I hope everyone is well. We don't have long now!

CHRISSY I must admit I didn't wait for the Black Friday deals, I bought my printer last weekend.

CHERRY the hessian pressie looks very exciting.

GTQ good news re the raffle and glad your cake is being admired.

Well I saw consultant but not discharged yet as a couple of my blood markers are abnormal so I have to have a CT scan to rule out disease and more bloods in four weeks. He's happy for me to have my PICC line out next week though so that's good. I'm trying to be laid back and not panic so good job I'll be keeping busy for the next few weeks. Scan should be just before or just after Christmas.

Peppa - just wanted to send my best wishes. I hope all goes well and you get some positive news back xx
