Hi,Just lost a big personalised post grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.I just don't know how I do it! I can't do it all again, soz.
Do want to say; Peppa keep on keeping on.So far so good, have a marvellous Christmas and 2017 will follow suit.xxxxxxxxxxx
Free (read in a wheedling voice) Please will you post your Christmas flower arrangement pic from last year.I bought stuff to copy it then couldnt get red flowers for love nor money at the time.DD1 is having a bit of a do at hers on Christmas Eve with us (4) and BF's family which is significantly more. Thought I might try and do a copy for BF's Mum.
I have started a little basket of homemade produce to take for DD and BF.So far chilli oil, rosemary oil, marmite candle, stamp votive with battery tea light, chilli jam and marmalade. Will make chocolate slab/bark closer to time and perhaps some gingerbread men.
That reminds me,have ordered some personalised marmite for DD1 and Mr V. Have seen you can get personalised chocolate spread too.DD2 would like that but she would eat it all in a couple of days, like she tried to do with the giant selection box I made her last year.
No decorations up for me yet.Decorator coming on Wednesday to do stairs etc then hopefully carpet fitter before Christmas. I am itching to get them out of the loft but we have enough disruption without a million banana boxes too.
OOps I may have bought a christmas tree off ebay.Slim one for the porch.Keep thinking I should get rid of the 8ft one then think it's taking no harm in the loft and we will move again and it might fit that house.
Better shake a leg.Laters Vx:0 -

I have a moral dilemma.
Just had an Amazon delivery at work, which surprised me as I thought I had received everything I had ordered. Opened it and found Lego, a watch and an SDHC card, none of which I have ordered. There is no paperwork so I can't even contact them with details for them to trace back. I know that the correct buyer can contact them over non delivery and they are very good at sorting out redelivery. I am guessing that the staff at the warehouse were simply swamped so there is every likelihood that human error caused this, but what should I do? I know what I could do!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Vulpix- you cant let your neighbours down (not that they know whats coming)- of course you have to have a slim tree in the porch- it would be rude not to! If the 8ft tree is out of the way in the loft then let it stay there til you move again (don't tell Mr V though lol)
GTQ- I know what I would be inclined to do ( probably get a roasting for saying this but here goes..) donate it on behalf of Amazon to your charity.
I have put my tree up today and vacuumed 4 times! Flippin glitter and green from the tree everywhere! Its a new tree that I had from Amazon in February- 7ft and cost the massive amount of £6.25!! Im pleased with it, although I couldn't bear to move my Alison Cork glitter tree out of the living room so I have relocated it to the opposite end of the room. Its beginning to look at lot like Christmas at chez Murie.....!lovin' this site!

Free your arrangement looks gorgeous.
GTQ I hope you can get sorted with the parcel that arrived by accident are you on Twitter you could contact them on their and ask for advice.
Not had time to do a reindeer for the challenge I've been rushe off my feet with other stuff. Sorry but I do look forward to seeing everyone else's.
Murie thank you for sorting the card swap out. Hoping to get mine posted soon.
Made stuff for the school Christmas play over t weekend and going to make a cushion cover for mil this afternoon. We've bought her one of those wedge shaped pillow cushions so want to make a cover for it
Went to see frank turner on Friday night at Coventry walked through a lovely little Christmas market shame we didn't have time to linger.
Concert was brilliant it was sort of Christmas or birthday pressies for the ones we took with us we all had a brilliant time he certainly gives every show his all. Anyone else seen him he's touring the uk at the mo.SPC~12 ot 124

GTQ- I know what I would be inclined to do ( probably get a roasting for saying this but here goes..) donate it on behalf of Amazon to your charity.
That's exactly what I was going to do! Will wait a couple of weeks, as I have no details whatsoever with the order, it would take a pretty sophisticated database to match up with delivery to me, but you never know. If nothing happens, will sort out for charity.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Just a quickie, will post properly later. GTQ if you contact Amazon they will probably tell you to keep the things anyway. They are pretty good like that. ☺️It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

GTQ I second Peppa, I had a large parcel of clothing and toys sent from amazon once, I tweeted them and was told to keep them. I kept a screenshot of the tweet just in case. I donated them to a children's centre close by. I also had a table left outside, my name but never ordered so I messaged again and was told the same, that was donated to my mum!! You'll probably feel more comfortable if you are told officially to retain the items. x0

Morning everyone
After a week of long hours and not being thrilled when woken by the alarm clock, it gets to Saturday and I wake up naturally fully alert before 6am and couldn't get back to sleep.
Today I have told DH that I am 'doing Christmas' all weekend, as I want to get all wrapped up and buy any outstanding gifts. I am therefore not available for any housework/child-activities or socialising until it's done. We go away to Ypres next weekend, so if I don't get it done this, then that only leaves me with a couple of weekends before Christmas.:eek:
Re- the mouse issue. We had problems for some years (more about that later). We live doors away from a pest controller so bought some poison from him. I know some people don't like this as they believe that the mouse will die somewhere inaccessible and the smell will be horrendous, but modern poisions aren't like this. There was only one time (the first) we got an awful smell and that was because the mouse had died in a ledge that was on the back of the fridge (on the outside, not inside the fridge!) and the heat from the fridges thermostat combined with dead mouse was making it smell. Pest controller also said you have to think about the nature of how a mouse eats, because by nature they are open to being eaten by a bird or fox etc, they will run round by your skirting board, pick up the food and take it back to their nest. This is why peanut butter and chocolate are recommended by people because the mouse isn't able to do this, it has to stay on the trap to eat it. If your trap isn't going off, I'd suggest that you are not putting the bait in quite the right place on the trap meaning mousey can feed quite safely.
I can't stress this enough please look for the entry point into your house and block it. We had problems for several years as DH insisted that 'we couldn't stop them getting in' Eventually (about 4 years later!!) he had a look and discovered they were making their way through the hole in our conservatory wall that was for the tumble dryer and some surplus floor tiles that we'd left outside was creating a nice ladder for them!! If you can fit a biro pen through a gap then a mouse can get in too.
The first mouse we had, was spotted by me on Christmas Day night when everyone else had gone to bed, so quite fitting it should end up being talked about on a Christmas thread. :rotfl:
And on the subject of unwanted creatures. I plan on making my 16yo son a 'tongue-in-cheek' hamper. He dislikes bees/wasps so I am going to make him a present to do with them:D I have some chocolates in the shape of bees that I bought in Belgium this summer. DD showed me a cushion in Next the other day, but DS was with me so I couldn't show too much interest. It looked like a wasp design on it but DS identified it as a bee, apparently he knew because 'you have to get to know your enemy'Has anyone got any other suggestions? (He will see the funny side)
Think I'm going to go into town shortly before anyone else gets up, get a mermaid blanket for DD and to arm myself with paper/labels/sellotape so I can barricade myself in my bedroom on my return.
What about some Burt's Bees products?Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -

If you contact Amazon they will sort it.
I had this earlier in the year, it turns out it was a present for one of my boys and I had no idea it was coming. I contacted them via the online chat, and they were able to tell me who it was off.0
