Oh sorry Chrissy! No probs I wasjust having a 'moment' and didn't understand.

Let me know how you get on with your glasses, Im a bit unsure about varifocals as both sis and mom have had them in the past but not got on with them, but I am so sick of having to take my glaases off to look at my phone etc. The optician said its due to 'maturity and sophistication'- a polite way of saying Im becoming a wrinkly!!

  • Good morning, back in the land of Christmas prep!
The wedding went off without a hitch, the flowers behaved and were (She said) exactly what she wanted. Also she loved the table centres, (a black wellie, weighted with stones and a plastic milk carton inside with the flowers looking over the top.) The lass lives in her wellies as she walks 4 dogs for miles over the fields, so l thought it was very apt.
The hotel was all decorated for Christmas and had decorated the trees in the same colours as her dress, nice touch.
Back to reality this week though, chasing Christmas, as the China contingent arrive on the 16th dec. l need to be all ready by then, aaaarrrrggggghhhh!!!!!!!
I know what you mean about giving your present ideas away, and then not knowing what to buy from yourself. DS2 is a bugg*r for that, and expects me to wrap them for him too.
I love the hessian wrapping I found 2 big hessian sacks in poundland, and the lady on the till thought it was hilarious how chuffed l was, as l needed them to make a prodded mat, so after Christmas l will be 'clipping clouts' and prodding.
Now, it is back to wrapping and hiding presents, then tomorrow DGS can get into the loft and bring Christmas out.
Peppa, my dear, keep on being kind to yourself, and enjoy Christmas.

I have had my varifocals for a few years now but hated them at first i found it really difficult especially when shopping , looking up and down the shelves made me feel dizzy but you do get used to it eventually.

Meerkat feeding day today to say Dd is excited would be an understatment !
Bloody muttly has given the game away with a parcel that arrived today, i opened one end to have a look , its a beanie baby for Dds birthday . I put it on the floor beside me then a little while late realised there was a lot of russling it was only the dog trying to get it out of the packet ! so Dd guessed it was a soft toy as thats the only thing he goes ballistic for.

And on the subject of unwanted creatures. I plan on making my 16yo son a 'tongue-in-cheek' hamper. He dislikes bees/wasps so I am going to make him a present to do with them:D I have some chocolates in the shape of bees that I bought in Belgium this summer. DD showed me a cushion in Next the other day, but DS was with me so I couldn't show too much interest. It looked like a wasp design on it but DS identified it as a bee, apparently he knew because 'you have to get to know your enemy' :D Has anyone got any other suggestions? (He will see the funny side)

    .

What about something from The Bee Movie? Either the DVD itself, or what about a tshirt with the whole script printed on it - that and other script items here

Think I'm going to go into town shortly before anyone else gets up, get a mermaid blanket for DD and to arm myself with paper/labels/sellotape so I can barricade myself in my bedroom on my return.[/QUOTE]

    A jar of honey?:D
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Gettingtherequickly - If he's a star wars fan, this might be appropriate Etsy Link

Chrissy - Hope Meerkat experience was a hit.

Mrs Invisble - Glad wedding went well :)

Mrs Tinks - The package is fairly substantial. I'm not sure you'd be able to hide it tbh. Unless you have room in a cupboard somewhere.

Fran - I was the same with Black Friday, I got one thing with my dad's money that I had wanted for ages - a bird table. It was about £30 off so was quite pleased.

Peppa - I'm sorry that you haven't being discharged yet. Really hoping for good news for your next appointment. Like murie says, hope fully throwing yourself into all of your Christmas projects will be a good distraction and when it's not, we are here.

Meerkats were lovely and very cheeky climbing all over Dd and Oh , even went as far as opening hubbys hands to check for food.
Anyone near Barnsley this is a lovely relaxed place with lots of animals , the only downside was the god awful coffee they serve .

  • I was thinking honey too! Haha. Beeswax candle? Yellow and black striped top?

I've rearranged my lounge ready for the tree to go up this coming week. I think i will install the TV tonight while sprout is in bed and then either a bit of wrapping or some sewing.

MrsI, it must be a male thing. My brother wants to post my parents' gifts to me, no doubt so that I will wrap them for him! I used to do my other brothers' and my dad's, and he only ever had to wrap one from him to mum!!!

Hope your DD had a great day Chrissy.

Ooh spendless, I wish I could offload the boy some days. He's getting to that cocky annoying age where you want to give them a good prod.... Or maybe that's just me. Either way I am a bit jealous and hope you had a good day.
