Morning everyone. Wasn't on yesterday because I was a bit busy graduating!

The Open University put on a lovely ceremony. My quick walk across the stage is quite a blur now but I won't forget the joy from everyone in the theatre. My hands were bright red from clapping for over an hour!

I bought the graduation t-shirt with everyone's names on. Never had my name on a t-shirt before lol. :rotfl: In the little cardboard tube they give you on stage (degree certificates come in the post beforehand) there was a little golden OU pin. Waiting on my graduation jewellery (I just really wanted a ring lol) to come in the post. Hopefully soon.

Traffic back from Manchester was god awful. But we managed to still get out for a celebratory italian meal. :T Really tired today. But it was worth it.

Still feel at a loss without studying though (it was 6 years of my life!). I don't feel productive, just a waste of space cause I'm not well enough to work. :( So I'm now considering a Masters of some sort or some other form of distance studying. Glutton for punishment! :rotfl:

Sorry this is so long. Just wanted to share with you all. :D

Ah many congratulations! I love reading stories like yours. I'm an OU student too, I'm in year 3 of 3 (I study full time) and I will be (hopefully!) graduating at the Sage in Gateshead in October next year. It's always lovely to see success stories and that's what spurs me on- I want to be there in October. I've just got my first Level 3 assignment back, I worked myself into the ground doing it, started it as soon as I got the assignment questions, it went through ten edits and a crisis of confidence but I got a Grade 2 pass for it so I was thrilled!
Be very proud of yourself. It's a huge achievement and my very best wishes to you :) distance learning I'm told is addictive... so go for that
Masters! Sadly OU don't offer the Masters I want to do (English Lang) so I'm going to a brick uni to do my MA but I would love to work for the OU eventually.

Congratulations, Clumsy, glad you enjoyed the occasion, too.
Free, don't let your sisters rudeness and spite upset you, as was said, it is she who is humiliated by her facebook comment, not you.
Peppa, get the biggest bl**dy Christmas tree you can find. The battle you have fought this year, you deserve it.
well, yesterday saw me at a posh hotel, in a .....frock!!!!!.......having afternoon tea. Fave cous's soon to be ddil 's hen party, a real treat. Better than a pub crawl dressed up as some kind of idiot. 13 of us, and we didn't get put out or even told off, so we must have behaved.
Back there in a fortnight for the wedding, looking forward to that.
Better get up now, though, and get to grips with mount ironmore, before skype happens.
  • Free Don't worry about your sister - you can't do anything more.

I didn't always receive birthday cards from family members but it is always interesting to see who remembers that it is your special day when you are younger. Perhaps people forget due to being so busy with Christmas. Now I'm older, the few birthday cards that I receive are greatly appreciated - but are also getting fewer each year so serve as a reminder of people who are no longer here. :(

Clumsy Congratulations on your graduation! Sounds like it was a great day. :)
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

    Hi everyone,

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

I've written on a few Christmas cards. I have to spread it out as I get cramp in my hands and then my writing becomes atrocious.

In other news, my friend has just text me to tell me it's snowing where she is!
I better get some supplies in now that I don't live in a city anymore.

Good luck to all those that are moving house soon. It's tiring but worth it.

Free - How awful. Like everyone says, all your sister has done is embarrass herself. I would just rise above her negativity. You are obviously a lovely person. I think it's best to just not give your energy to people like that.

Peppa - If you have the money going spare, I'd just get it. I'm a believer of buying stuff that you really want. So many people buy things that they don't want or need so I think if you really want something, treat yourself.

Clumsy - Congratulations! Sounds like you had an amazing day.
  • It was very cold last night didn't get to see any fireworks as I was holed inside under my electric throw. I've got the dreaded cold virus so a, dosing myself up with everything hoping to get rid of it quickly. It usudlsly takes me s few months to get rid of s cold due to my poor immune system. Sainsburys have their own Christmas shortbread collection and chocolate biscuits £2.50 each. I think their biscuits are the best, actually got chocolate that tastes like it not like cooking chocolate.

Ordered some bits from boots and marks and Spencer's just got to collect them next week.

Peppa go for it, the tree will last ages and in the long run save you money. You have had a tough year you deserve to get something to treat yourself.

Free ignore what she said and think about you.

FREE you have nothing at all to be humiliated about, like the others have said it's your sister who has shown herself up. You're right, you don't need negativity in your life, if people bring you down or don't bring you joy then sod them, you don't need them. You have your own lovely little family and that's what's important. Plus you have us of course! :D

FREE, MRSINVISIBLE, CHERRY and TREASUREQUEEN thank you for your lovely words. I think I'm going to go for it and get the big tree, yay!

Having a pyjama and candle day today. Wanted to do some sewing but haven't got any of the right colour cotton so it'll have to wait til tomorrow. ;) Really must get going on my reindeer challenge.

Have a happy Sunday everyone. :)
