GTQ glad to see you back and have had a lovely time. Yes, they grow so quickly, it doesn't seem possible. Have a big hug yourself, too, as it is hard leaving them behind. xx
Peppa l love the chair and the idea of two different seats to finish it off.
How was the sunrise, Free? have you bulleted it? (First entry in mine would be 'start a bullet journal' just so l could tick something right away)
L have found a pattern for some little knitted and crocheted bells, so my intention is to do a good few of each, and some holly with berries, make them into gift tags to dress up special Christmas parcels, will that do for my jingling?
oh,no, computer is about to die........ have a lovely weekend!0 -
Hi everyone, Hope everybody is doing ok. I got a craft delivery today that will allow me to start my jingle bell craft. It feels like I have not done some proper crafting in ages!
Murie-Glad you had a nice afternoon crafting, Congratulations on celebrating your Pearl wedding anniversary. We celebrate 15 years on 4th September, I think its crystal. Glad your dd bag came xx
mrsinvisible- Sounds like a wonderful idea for crafting, I am sure it will be lovely xx0 -
Mrs I- that's sounds like a fab idea about making them into tags. I think I would be tempted to do that that with the first page too lol!
04624181 I cant believe its 30 years! It seems like 5 minutes ago (unfortunately the mirror tells me its not !).
DD went to Home Bargains this morning and saw a wooden pizza paddle for £6. She rang me and asked if she should pick one up for me to go with DS's pizza oven- yes please! Its hiding behind the dratted thing on the floor in my room now! DS asked for some tie clips for Christmas (simple tastes you might think til he said he like a Vivienne Westwood one in particular!) I will have to save up for THAT one, but in the meantime I have had 2 skinny tie clips one in rose gold and one in graphite delivered today. (Next outlet on eb*y). I wasn't too sure on the rose gold but in the flesh it is really nice. I have to find a box to put them in as they only came in polybags (but what can you expect for only £3.99?!).
Free- the sunscreen I was on about is called Ultrasun on QVC. Its mega expensive though so it might be worth seeing if its cheaper elsewhere.
Well little miss Mylie has learnt how to jump on the work surfaces in the kitchen today so nothing is going to be sacred now! I had forgotten just how mischievous a 12 week old kitten can be!lovin' this site!

I am doing a new tradition this year with my parents: a stocking alongside their main presents. I have made my mums stocking just need to get one done for my dad. I am aiming to buy a few things each week and put by. So far I have handmade embroided hankies for my dad, hand cream, and screen wipes from £land. For my mum im going to make her some heel balm, peppermint and orange creams, a soya candle and im going to make it a pamper stocking this year.
This year I can't seem to find anything in the summer sales don't know if its just me?
Have finished my grandparents 50th anniversary hamper and I have decided as a surprise to make some Swarovski wine glass charms for their party so have just finished 60 of them.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -
Evening everyone, well the sun rise was a bit hit and miss, after directing DD1 the wrong way (i missed a turning) when we found the place we found that it was facing the wrong way, so we watched a bit then decided to drive back and then found a place on the way back where we pulled over and got some lovely photos, so at least i can cross that off the list now. I am so tired though, typical the one day i have to get up at 4.50am the NDN decide to start playing loud music at 11pm, it was dire music as well to add insult to injury.
04624181 i havent even looked at any sales online, i think its because i have nearly finished christmas and dont really need a lot moreDid you get any crafting done today?
MURIE yes it was quite cloudy where we originally were this morning although they were moving quickly. Glad you had a nice crafty afternoon i bet the card is lovely. Are you pleased with DDs bag? The pizza paddle sounds a fab bargain, thanks for the suncream name i will let DD1 know. Aww Mylie is growing into a gorgeous lady, the photo on IG was lovely
MRSINVISIBLE oh i love your idea of knitting gift tags, how lovely!
TREASUREQUEEN your mum and dad will love having a stocking, since i have been on my own the kids have started doing me one and i absolutely love it, its really nice to join in with the kids as well. Are you pleased with the hamper did you go for a gold theme in the end? The wine glass charms sound great

Free sorry to hear the sunrise was a hit and miss, I wanted to see the shooting star thing that was on tv from 11th august but I cant stay up till 1 o'clock which is when you first start seeing them.
Yes I did decide to do the gold hamper theme I got marks and spencer's liquid caramels, Florentines, cinder honeycomb, banana eclairs, a golden glass heart with stand, a golden dish from TKmaxx and a lucky sixpence from the year they married. Got a wicker basket to put it all in which they can reuse in their bathroom. Came under budget so the money went towards their party.
I thought the stockings were a good idea as I am moving out from the family home in October. A new tradition, my parents do me and my brother a stocking so I wanted to do them one too. My mum and dad never had stockings growing up so its something for them to look forward to each year.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -
Aaaaand I'm back!
MIL back at home with new heart tablets.
I am cracking on with the back garden.I forgot to take photo's before I started.I have done about 1/4 of it.My stepson helped me make the base for the shed, lifting heavy slabs for me.I am just having a rest.Been at it a couple of hours and I have learned that if I over do it I am in so much pain at night that I can't sleep.Too impatient !
My halfcost order came, never used them before, very pleased with everything.
DD2 has gone to her Mum's relatives for a week so I had my Christmas stash out.I seem to be all but done for the 2 girls, they are always easy. They will also have some cash and will send some cash to my son and GF in Canada.I have a few bits for my Mum nothing for MIL and a book that cost about 50p from halfcost for MR V.I write stuff down in a note book as I buy it,I seem to have lost some toiletries but I am sure they will turn up,must be well hidden.
The women at !!!!! n stitch are an aquired taste.Lol at them rubbishing my jingle bells idea.I would never be so rude.Luckily I take plenty of no notice.I have bought more bells but still no idea what to do with them.
Back to it whilst it's fine. Love to all Vx:0 -
TreasureQueen- the stockings are a fab idea. I do advent calendars each year for close family from freebies and little bargains and crafts that I find/do throughout the year which I love we have a little bit of Christmas everyday in December!
Free- sorry the sunrise was a bit difficult to find- the pic on IG looks really peaceful.
Peppa- hope you had a lovely time over the weekend and that your energy levels high!
Vulpix- welcome back! Im like you- I push and push myself thinking 'I will just do this bit or finish this' and before I know it I am scuppered for pain. Don't worry about what the women at the craft group said- they are obviously not creative enough or Christmassy enough to appreciate your ideas!
DDs BF is back down to Brighton for 3 days to day to wrap up his current student house an move his stuff into the new one so its going to be quiet here (with any luck!). I cant believe he and DD are about to enter their 3rd year at Uni- it only seems 5 mins since we had tears that he was off to Uni in a different city and she was living at home for hers. Anyway- I hope to finally get my Christmas cakes done this week with any luck! The fruit is going to be so steeped in booze it will stagger into the cake- its been soaking for nearly 3 weeks!
Hope sun is shining where you are xlovin' this site!

The rest of my Halfcost order arrived. They had put the majority of the items in a big box, which then got left with a neighbour but no card put through my door. So my neighbour brought it round to me. I haven't opened it yet but looking at the size of the box, I'm pretty sure my whole order must be in there.
I finally sorted through all the stuff I've been buying recently and have written it all down. I've got loads more than I realised!! It's good because I've realised I actually don't need to buy anything for a few people now and have even got some extra stuff that I can give to people for their birthdays.
We had a lovely weekend but now it's Monday again and I'm not looking forward to another busy week in work. The last few weeks seem to have gone really slowly, I think it's because I'm counting down the days until our holiday. 33 days and counting! I'm trying to eat healthy for a few weeks now though, so I think the days are going to seem even more miserable if I can't have any yummy treats :rotfl:
I've been bitten on my arm, it's so itchy. We went out for a walk last night and there were lots of things flying about, so it must have been something then. The thing is, it's right on my wrist where I wear a watch so I can't put my watch on now because it just gets even more itchy and I don't like wearing my watch on my other wrist. Oh well, there are worse problems to have.
I hope everybody had a lovely weekend. We're in for a few days of lovely weather now, it's been lovely so far so lets see how the rest of the week goes.
Have a good day everybody.0 -
Spent all yesterday at a comicon event with DD ,she loved it but I was bored rigid not really my idea of fun ! However it did give me another idea for my OH's gift tickets to see Cirque du soleil in Feb while DD is still on her cruise.
