  • Free yes sorry, must admit at the moment I don't know what I am doing half the time, but yes all quiet at the moment.....too quiet. It's all sorted in a way but someone is too ill to stand trial. Getting a nice little portfolio up together to prove otherwise.

Um yes, Teddy is handsome but she's a girl so that throws that out the window, she should be pretty! I mean, a dog is a dog but she really does look like a boy :rotfl:
Before we got her she spent the first weeks called Florence but DS knew I would shorten it to Fanny and said he would refuse to go anywhere with me calling out that name so we renamed her Theodora so Teddy it was, the next two will be Babs and Joy after the Beverley Sisters (DS's idea)
  • Hi everyone, I used to make hampers for all my family and friends maybe 7-10 years ago and I don't know what happened but I just stopped doing them. Maybe I'll start again this year but would need to be small things as I've already bought most of my Xmas presents.

Murie - you're right about getting boiler changed now. Last winter was awful. I had no heating from the 18th December till Xmas eve then it broke again on Hogmanay and wasn't fixed till 10th January. It has never worked properly since - always cutting off.

I have made a start on my list of sewing, completed one cushion and prepared a door curtain and a pair of curtains to hopefully finish tomorrow xx

  • Well hello there! Have had a very quick skim over the news, will read properly over the weekend, but hugs for all those having a rough time.

Still trying to catch up on sleep :( Had a great time though, littlies growing up so much, it is scary how fast they grow. Will fill you in later.

Quick thought request. I was asked to get involved in a charity earlier in the year so we have fundraiser coffee mornings. Have been asked to make a Christmas cake to raffle, which is fine, but our last fundraiser this year will be the weekend before Christmas. I want to be able to "sell" the the date with the prospect of being able to get last minute Christmas gifts. I have bought some small baskets and will make up little hampers, but need suggestions. I have ordered some small manicure sets from Fleabay, so thinking along that sort of line. Any suggestions?

Hi all, I ordered DD a gorgeous dress, a bag, some hair clips and stick on earrings in the monsoon sale. Need to get a lovely gift box and some tissue paper and that is being wrapped up for her for Christmas. My zara order has arrived at the Trafford centre so I need to collect it sometime. Unfortunately it may be some time as I had physio yesterday. The good news is my physio has found what looks like the problem, It is my QL muscle on my left side. He worked on it yesterday and I am now in agony until it settles down. Ah well I am online looking at bargains, hubby has come home from work and is going to take kids to park.

Peppa- fantastic idea about the Christmas chair. Everybody needs an extra chair at Christmas.
Plumduff55- Sounds like a wonderful craft idea, looking forward to seeing the placemats. A new boiler is fantastic but the clean up and disturbance isn’t. It will be worth it though.
Free- I do not have a bullet journal but I love all things stationary and think they are fab. There is something very satisfying about writing things down on paper and being able to tick it off when completed.
Pinksteps- my son also seems to go through lots of headphones so I have bought him some for his stocking
Princesskitty29- WOOHOO 20 Fridays is so exciting!!!
Moneymission2015- Halfcost do sometimes send the orders split so hope you receive your other parcel soon. Hope you get your next order sorted out too
Msgigglewick- cant wait to see what you have in your little shop this year xx Hope dd apt went better today
Gettingtherequickly-sounds like it will be a lovely event. Let me have a think and will get back to you. Is it just hamper ideas you want or any craft?

Welcome back GTQ, glad you had a fabulous time. I'm not very good at ideas until someone else suggests something but am thinking hard so who knows, I may have an epiphany.

PINKSTEPS loving the story of how Teddy got to be Teddy. Must admit I'm with your DS on the Fanny front lol :rotfl:

0462 the pressie for your DD sounds fab, I'm just not organised enough this year to have looked in the sales for pressies (well only the Cath Kidston sale).

FREE what's a bullet journal? Sounds like something I should know about!

Going to DD for lunch tomorrow so looking forward to that. Other than that the focus this weekend is going to be on finishing the decorating in the dining room and getting my bookcase and shelf/dresser in place. Keeping fingers crossed for high energy levels this weekend!
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Evening everyone, i have to be in bed earlyish tonight as DD1 and i are getting up at 4.50am to go and watch the sun rise (hopefully i have found a really good place to see it), its one of my 50s list things to do. I baked a Gingerbread Loaf cake today and the house smelt gorgeous and christmassy. If anyone is interested i have found a lovely page to follow on FB called The Christmas Cottage they have some lovely pictures on there, and they are so christmassy especially the ones with moving snow or twinkling lights.

04624181 i hope your back eases quickly and i hope now they have identified the problem they can treat it. I havent bought one thing in this summers sales, i havent even been into town for a couple of months

PEPPAPIG its a sort of Journal come Diary come To Do List, the best thing is to look it up on Pinterest, i really didnt understand it at first but after pinning loads of pins i sat and went through it all and i have started a mini one til the end of the year, you use colour and doodles and bullet lists, some examples are really pretty on there. I hope you get everything you want to get done this weekend done, lots of energy vibes heading your way

Peppapig- I usually wait for September sales but have just managed to get a good head start this year. Have put the money away for DD kindle fire already so just need to start saving for DS gifts. He actually sat down tonight and mentioned some bits he wants so have written them down so I don't forget.
Free- hope you have a lovely morning sunrise! I find online shopping much better whilst the kids are off. Although the stash will have to be sorted out soon lol

Pinksteps- love the story behind Teddys name! Our house would be like that too. Its more difficult than you think to name animals isn't it? I wanted our next cat to be a large ginger tom called Big Dave- instead we have a small very ladylike Russian blue called Mylie (she is going to have the belly of a Big Dave though if she keeps stuffing her face as she does! I thought cats didn't over eat? No one has sent Mylie the cat handbook so she doesn't know!)

    GTQ- welcome back!

04624181 hope your back eases up sooner rather than later x

Peppa- hope your physical energy levels keep pace with your mental energy. Enjoy your lunch with DD x

Free -hope the sunrise was lovely! You wouldn't have seen much here as its very cloudy this morning. The journal sounds interesting will have a look later,

Feisty- thinking positive thoughts of you and your family x

I spent yesterday making DHs Anniversary card- its our Pearl in September, and I enjoyed taking time out to craft again after last Saturday. I also wrapped his birthday presents (November), and DDs Michael Kors bag came so I am really getting ahead this year which makes me all warm and Christmassy fuzzy!

Hope today is good to everyone x
    lovin' this site!
