    04624,Oh Dear,that's a shocker!Get Well soon to you all.x

Pinksteps, sounds positive,I hope you both continue to feel the benefits.

Thank You all for the concern about my bite.I took antihisthamine and that helped. It took a couple of days to improve and now there is just a 4" dark red ring around the site of the bite.

Free as others have said,it's onwards and upwards for you now.You know what you are dealing with and hopefully will get help to minimise the symptoms.Good on you for doing the garden. It gives me such a sense of satisfaction when I do mine.Gardening and being outside should be an NHS prescription in my book.

Welcome to new Christmas people. It is the right place here for people who can talk about Christmas anytime.

Mrs I and Chrissy you are both an inspiration in the getting things done stakes.Hats off to you.

Newthrift,my daughter was at the same festival and said madness were brill.I drove pat there yesterday and they were still cleaning up.The weather was kind this year.

Mrs Ryan I am in awe of you having finished your Christmas shopping. Also Chrissy for wrapping as you go.

My works order came, was surprised at how small the trivial pursuit games are.I'm behind the times, was expecting it to be in a big box like they used to be.I need to get my stash out whilst youngest is on holiday with her friends family.I think I am doing quite well on the gifts front as I bought several in January and I pick stuff up as I see it.

Sorry if I have missed anything I should be talking about, still a bit out of sorts. Vx

    Sixth Anniversary
Hello! I was on last year's thread (and the year before) and now the Selfridges Christmas shop is open I feel like I can make my debut on this year's and share in the festive vibes :)

I've made a little start on my Christmas shopping - I bought one of last year's Yankee Candle advent calendars really cheap on Amazon (the carousel one!) so that's stashed away for my mum. I'm also planning a giveaway on my blog for a box of cosy Christmas goodies so I'm starting to assemble things for that (if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears!)

I'm thinking I'll get my brother a book subscription this year - he's an avid reader and off to uni again in September for his Master's, so I think he'll appreciate that.

I'm also off to some Christmas markets around the French/German border in late November, so it's a long Christmas season for me this year!

    Hope everyone's been well :)

    Hi everyone,
Well after an evening of sickness everyone was settled and asleep by 11,30pm. 3am wake up from son who was utterly confused and had no idea what was happening. He had gone downstairs and was shouting upstairs that he was late and needed to find a top. I dont think I have ever moved so fast in my life! Hubby of course was oblivious. I was worried but DS did not have a temp, he was cold and clammy, very pale. I sat with him a while, debated and a&e visit as he had not been able to keep water down for nearly 24hours. He settled back to sleep ok so I decided to get up early and see how he was, if he was no better I was taking him a&e. He seems to have turned a corner, he is keeping liquids down and has just had a slice of toast. He has lost some weight bless him. DD is still very warm, she hasnt been sick this morning but is very weak.
Hubby has taken day off today so its an ideal opportunity to get some more organising done. Our bedroom is getting done today! actually looking forward to getting in there and throwing lots of rubbish!
Mrs_Ryan-Sounds like a perfect day, would love to take the kiddies to London at christmas.
Free- You know where I am if you need me. Holland and Barratt Aloe vera juice or capsules were amazing for husband and enabled him to come off tablets after his first flair many years ago.
pinksteps- Dlad your DS coped well with the scan, I am glad you are both feeling a difference xx
Allthatglitter-Welcome to the christmas lovers group. If you love christmas all year round then you will definately fit in here xx
Vulpix- glad your bite has settled down, sounds like it was nasty though. I feel a great sense of achievement every time I look at the present stash now, its nowhere near finished but I love writing it all down on my list lol
kaya1991- welcome back, hope you are ok xx book subscription sounds like an ideal present for an avid reader. My son loves reading too so may look into that.

Just a general question but do any of you fancy doing a christmas craft group? possibly we could pick a craft a month and all do it? Oh im dont know the details but thought it would be nice for us all do something together and share pictures maybe? What do you think?

I have only read back 2 pages :o apologies for anything I have missed on the 2 pages before.

Hello to newbies :) All Christmas nuts welcome :rotfl:

Free – Gardening can be so fun, but I always under estimate how tiring it is. Well done for not giving in!!! Your birds of prey day looked really good. They were truly so good, I was properly going for it dancing (I think DH was pretending to not know me :rotfl:)

MrsI – Glad cuz’s DH is feeling better.

Princesskitty – Well done to Wiggle on sleeping in (edit: at least one day anyway) and glad Thomas Land was fun (and free :D) I can’t believe I’m reading Wiggle will be 2!!! That seems to of come round so quickly. There are some fantastic ‘pigs in mud’ cakes on pinterest. I know not actually Peppa & George but do still look very good! Yes very good Emma B bargin!!! I brought SIL a hearts one for £7.95 then when I got the email saying some were reduced to £5.95 I kicked myself – although the one I got her wasn’t in the line up.

MrsRyan – amazing!!! Well done you on having basically finished already.

Peppa – It sounds like you will still have a very enjoyable time with DGD anyway, and fingers crossed in October you will be able to have her stop over more again.

0462 – Fab bargin on the UGG boots!!! Oh no  at least you know where it has come from! Poor DS, what a scary moment at 3am. Fingers crossed it sounds like he is now on the mend. Craft group idea sounds good to me!

pinksteps - Glad DS's scan went well and that the gluten free is helping. I did it for a while when I was at school and the soda bread toast was amazing!! How sad about the elderly lady :(

vulpix - The weather this year was good, normally it only rains. Was nice to go up and not need my wellies. The clear up does take a while and I never get over how many tents are left behind, I think last year someone actually left a caravan :rotfl:

kaya - Welcome back. I've never heard of doing a book subscription, that is a really good idea.

Well I did have a quick look on selfridges online and wowza that are some pricey baubles!! DH's birthday on Monday and I still need to get a card so might have to go on moonpig. We love the Me2U ones but they are quite hard to find in the shops around us. August is a very busy month for us with birthdays/wedding anniversarys so there won't be lots of christmas done this month. Usually September/October me and my mum go to Meadowhall for a christmas gift buying/girly day, but I might see if she wants to go to Trafford Centre this year for a change. We are now on countdown to my brother leaving for Canada, only 24 days left :(
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

    Afternoon everyone,

PINKSTEPS oh good for DS2 that is so good him doing it on his own! Oh that poor lady how sad! Wow DS has done well to lose that much already, and you are both feeling better in yourselves im sure it is just as much the gluten free as the injections, you have done so well to stick to it

04624181 oh i totally missed the post about DS being ill, and now DD has it, oh no was the christening done by caterers or the family? Im glad DS is starting to feel better poor thing, that must have been scary at 3am. I have been wondering whether to start aloe juice again, it put me off because i took it around the time my illness started and i wasnt sure if that was to blame, i still have a bottle in the fridge i should just really take some and find out. Im interested in the crafting with you all.

ALLTHATGLITTER hi and welcome to our thread we chatter all year round about christmas so you are in the right place

VULPIX glad your bite is on the mend, yes i keep looking out the kitchen window at the difference we have made by the bit we did do and i am getting a sense of satisfaction now. Yes i remember when DD1 bought DS the Harry Potter trivial pursuit i couldnt believe how small it was!

KAYA hi and welcome back, oh you will have a lovely start to the festive season at the christmas markets

NEWTHRIFT i thought the same about the selfridges baubles and tiny knitted things

Welcome to the thread MANXCOTTAGEONTHEHILL (might have to call you manxcottage for short lol) and ALLTHATGLITTER. Christmas all year round on here. Welcome back KAYA, good to see you again and nice to see you posting again CARLISELASS.

MONEYMISSION you inspired me to go to Asda and look at the sale bits. I bought a lovely little lamp with one of the vintage style deer on it, reduced from £17 to £4.50 so thanks for the idea :T

MRSRYAN I love the idea that you woke up and decided to have a day out - I wish I was more spontaneous like that. I must have a look at these baubles!

PINKSTEPS so glad the scan went well and that both you and DS seem to be doing really well now. Whether it's the B12 jabs or the gluten free it's a great result.

VULPIX glad the bite us clearing up and didn't get any worse. Hope you're feeling back on top very soon.

0462 how awful for you, that must have been so scary. Isn't it amazing how men seem to sleep through anything like that! Don't know if it was a buffet but I always steer clear of them (other than crisps, nibbles and cakes) because OpenPlay always leave them out all evening and really a couple of hours us the max. Mind you I'm over cautious because of my vomitting phobia. Hope DS and DD are both feeling much better soon - and poor MIL of course. I'd be happy to join in a crafting group - it would be nice to have the encouragement of knowing other people are doing the same and sharing pics would be fun.

NEWTHRIFT I think DD and I will be having a Christmas shopping day in September too. Can't go before that as need the littlies to be back at school/nursery.

FREESPIRIT hope trying the aloe Vera again goes well, anything that helps is good. Glad you're feeling a little better and hope the consultation answers all your questions.

Nothing much happening here, had bloods this morning so hopefully treatment tomorrow and I'm halfway through yay :T DGD coming tomorrow evening and staying overnight so looking forward to that.

I've already broken my resolution to take a break from upcycling - just doing a chair for the bedroom, oops.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Pinksteps-how sad about the old lady. Glad the scan went OK and that gluten free (and B12) is showing results already. Hopefully this is a good omen that things are about to change for the better for you and yours after your recent difficulties x

04624181- what a shame to have the lovely christening on Sunday overshadowed by illness like that. Hope you are all on the mend now- poor DS must have frightened you out of your skin at that tim of the morning!

Mrs Ryan- well done you on being so sorted!

    Kaya- welcome back!

Princesskitty- I hope wiggle's party goes well and that you all have a lovely time.

Newthrift- glad you had a fab time at the festival.

Vulpix- glad the bite has cleared up, hopefully you will start to feel brighter soon x

Welcome Christmas newbies! The door is always open to like minded Christmas nuts!

Free- try the aloe juice, give it a few days and see if there are any unpleasant side effects. Glad the gardening went well but not about the lasting fibro pain from it.

Peppa- sounds like my kind of weekend! Shame you didn't get to look for a caravan but theres always next time! Have a lovlely time with DGD tomorrow. Step away from the chair ......and relax!

On the Christmas front I have been doing well for DS. In addition to his drone I have bought him a pizza oven for £39.99 from groupon which has excellent reviews- he has always wanted one and they are £105 on Amazon! Plus I got him a turntable in a suitcase that he mentioned he wanted. I have used amazon vouchers, PayPal from surveys and a code on Groupon so have paid out in actual cash the grand sum of £70 for all that! I have had a lovely day today with DD going to a few charity shops to try to find vinyl records- they are like hens teeth now! I have really struggled to find any, but I did spend £5.50 on 6 singles and 2 albums, not really his kind of thing but he can buy his own more current music after Christmas. I have really enjoyed listening to them this afternoon, Duran Duran, David Bowie and some disco (Im really showing my age now!!). DH kept saying there's a program on the pc to clean up the sound but I think he was missing the point that its the crackles that make it so 'real'. I hope DS loves the turntable as much as I do lol!

I like the idea of a craft show and tell so Im up for that (but don't expect any sewing, knitting or crochet from me).
    lovin' this site!
