Vulpix- get to the Drs! That sounds like it is infected or at the very least an allergic reaction to the bite. I was bitten last year by what mom calls a horse fly- it bit through my jeans and came up in a big fluid filled blister about 4" long. The skin was red and bitingly hot so ended up going to the Dr after 3 days. Had to have an intensive course of anitbiotics (4 weeks!) as she said it was a bad infection, so please please don't ignore it and let it spread any further, if you cant get in to Drs then go to the pharmacist and see if they can help.

Princesskitty- good to see you, as others have said sleep deprivation is an awful thing, hopefully wiggle will get out of the habit soon x

3forholidays - glad you had a lovely time,

Peppa- yup QVC has really gone off in recent years. Mr Christmas was great- I loved his festive waistcoats! I don't count but I am obsessive about something once an idea is in my head and I don't sleep because of it!

Mrs I- I hope the flood dries up soon and is easily fixed. Im like Peppa- I use my dishwasher once a day- there are 5 of us in and out at different times of the day so I run it overnight.

VULPIX, definitely second what MURIE said - get thee to a GP or pharmacy. My son in law was bitten by a horse fly a few summers ago and ended up spending three days in bed with his arm elevated because of an allergic reaction.

    Hi all
Really productive afternoon! I won £75 on the bingo yesterday so I decided to use that and a little money I had in my account to get on with shopping.

    Christmas wise I bought:
A nightie for mum in Matalan (reduced to £3)
Some bath fizzers and shower gel (for sister) and some rose hand cream and a big bottle of strawberry shower gel (for Mum) all reduced in the body shop- I think the hand cream alone was reduced from £11 to 5.50 and I think the other stuff was half price too.
Some cosy flannel pyjamas from Primark for my sister- I bought her some last Xmas and she absolutely loved them so I got her some more, and some warm socks as she suffers with Reynaud's.
I bought BIL a £20 gift card for Game, and I got my Dad some sugar free mint humbugs from Holland and Barrett- he's diabetic and they're his faves.

I also bought birthday cards for mum, sister, and best mate as they all have birthdays in September/October, and an anniversary card for OH as we've been together 10 years in October so I also got him a gift of a £35 Halfords voucher that he asked for.
All that's left to get now is the remainder of OH's Xmas gift, which unless he tells me he wants something specific will be a £40 B&Q voucher; a gift for my best mate- she wants an Exeter Chiefs rugby top which I will get when I go on hols to Cornwall in October, a little something else for Dad which I'm hoping to pick up in Dublin; and gifts for my nephews and step-niece but they like the Jack Wills toiletry sets Boots do in the 3 for 2 at Xmas so I'll sort that then. It's a strange feeling to be almost done!
Ps Primark have some lovely warm flannel/fleece pyjamas in for winter if anyone is looking for any xx

Evening everyone, Had an amazing shopping day with the DD on Wednesday. We shopped, we had lunch out, we shopped some more. We laughed until we got hiccups, we made memories! Amazing day x Yesterday was a chill day, we watched POLAR EXPRESS! I have never seen it all the way through so yesterday the kids sat me down and I watched it. Made me feel all Christmassy. Today we have been out for lunch with my mum and sister. All 5 of us ( hubby at work) had such a great time. Mum treated kids to some bits from prinark and I bought DD her 2nd Lush bath bomb. She tried her first Lush bath bomb on Wednesday and absolutely loves them. DH is working tomorrow and DS out in Liverpool with family so its just me and DD again. May take her swimming, We have a family christening Sunday so busy weekend.
Free- We had an amazing time shopping, Thank you. Your pictures look amazing, looks like a fab day out.
Vulpix- Oh no, our arm sounds painful, do you think you should get it looked at? Cannon hall sounds good , I may have a look at that for a day out with kiddies for a picnic.
Moneymission2015- Great bargains, it feels great to get a good deal.
Princesskitty29- £12.99 for a magazine! Goodness me x Your bunting sounds lovely.
Chrissyg- What a relief that your car bill was not astronomical!
3forholidays-hope you had a great time
Mrsinvisible- I hope they can sort the leak out for you, sounds like your lovely family have got it covered.
Peppa- we had an amzing shopping trip, really enjoyed spending time together. I treated her to er first Lush bath bomb, she loved it!Good luck with the caravan site visit xx

Evening everyone, i received a letter from the hospital today with the results of my blood tests and biopsies etc i have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and have to go back on the 9th to discuss my treatment, it has really got me down so today has been a washout. I just couldnt face housework so did some of my course and made the kids a rice pudding for tonight to take my mind off it. That is my 4th diagnosis of some disease or other since christmas i cant wait for this year to be bl**dy over to be honest.

3FORHOLIDAYS glad you had a fab holiday suffolk is lovely isnt it?

MRSINVISIBLE oh no i hope you have got the leak fixed and there wasnt any damage done to flooring etc, i would hate to be without my DW too as i am a lazy wotsit!

MURIE/PEPPAPIG i totally agree about qvc they dont do as many christmas bits as they did years ago, there are too many non christmassy things and like you say the toys are same old same old

PEPPAPIG haha i have weird foibles as well, all cans, packets etc have to face forward and neatly (someone once asked if i had ever worked in a shop :rotfl:) the fridge has to be tidy and not everything just dumped on any shelf, and whatever piece of cutlery i pick up first out of the DW then i can only pick the same up until there is no more then go onto another piece of cutlery and the same thing again, so i cant pick a knife, fork and spoon up it has to be all the knives then the forks etc etc :rotfl:I hope you have a lovely few days away and DH agrees to the caravan (fingers crossed for you)

VULPIX ooh that doesnt sound good i hope it hasnt got any worse today or it is infected, glad you had a lovely day out yesterday it sounds lovely

MRS_RYAN ooh well done on your win that is fab! Some lovely presents there and good bargains too

04624181 glad you had a lovely day shopping with DD, ooh i love the lush bath bombs too!

strange mortals arent we? l never realised it was OCD l have, but, yes, l count, when l chop veg, or fruit l know how many pieces, when l peg out washing it is all the same items together, and the pegs have to be the same colour on each item, when l iron, l do all shirts first, then all of each type of thing together. towel cupboard, all tidy and folded with no edges showing, l just thought l liked order!!!! How liberating to discover a reason for it. lm not just wierd after all.
Vulpix, please get that bite seen, horse flies/cleggs are vicious, and cause all sorts of reactions.
Free, the birds look lovely, what a great day you had!
The dishwasher appears to be fixed, l ran it twice to make sure, and now have sparkly clean pans and utensils, (ran out of things for the second cycle so the cooker rings, sink tidy, drainer and microwave turntable got a turn ) now l just need to put the drawers back.
Lovely friend/neighbour who looked after the garden for me when l was on holiday is going to her grandsons christening tomorrow, so she asked me yesterday to shorten her dress, (bargain, monsoon sale, down from £120 to £30) very floaty chiffon type fabric, curved hem, lined, so thats my job for today. While l have the sewing machine out there are a few things l need to do as well, must make a list, then l can cross them off as l do them!
Off to make a start, and to drink coffee, hope everyone has a lovely weekend. xx

Evening everyone, wow where is everyone today? Hope you are all having fun! Nothing much done today, i did go over to DD2 and have some lunch and big cuddles with Thumper. I also asked DD2s OH what he preferred for christmas money, gift vouchers etc and he chose money as he wants a Dyson stick cleaner :rotfl:
:rotfl:so that is easy enough to sort, i will get a money gift card and do a mini hamper of his favourite biscuits, sweets and fizzy drinks.

MRSINVISIBLE glad your DW is fixed and working properly :)

Hi everyone, I'd like to join your merry group of Christmas fans 'cos I love Xmas. My children are all grown up now but that doesn't stop me from getting so excited. I have 3 grandchildren aged 6, 3 and 1 and love buying their presents on a very tight budget.

A month ago I bought them a portable DVD player to be shared between them. It was a really good deal from T**co outlet shop on E**y and has a 12 month guarantee. We used it on our recent 10 hour car journey ( to make sure it works ok ) and now it's stored away for Xmas. This morning I went to a local car boot and bought several DVDs at 50p each. My idea is to buy one of those pocket type wallets and fill it with DVDs - if anyone knows where I can buy one cheaply that would be great.

I have knitted my dil a chunky shawl collared jacket and that's her present sorted. I have a 400g ball of Aran yarn to knit mum an Aran waistcoat. I knit her one every Xmas and woe betide me if I don't knit her one 😂.

My two sons both in their 30s are always a problem to buy for. My daughter is in South America now so will probably just transfer some money to her - I hate giving money as presents but no alternative really.

I'm just going to add a list on my phone of the DVDs I've bought so that I don't buy a duplicate.

This is my first post on this thread but I really enjoy reading it every day xx

Welcome Plumduff55- Happy Christmas in July!! Those sound really good bargains- I think most poundshops have those tyoe of wallets if you have one near. I envy anyone who has knitting skills, I only have to look at balls of wool and knitting needles and I break out in a nervous sweat! I agree with you on cash for presents but I agree in some situations its the only practical thing.

Free- glad you had cuddles with Thumper. One of my DS's most treasured possessions is his hand held dyson! Hope you feeling happier today x

Peppa- hopefully you will have had a good persuasive weekend with DH looking at caravans!

Mrs Ryan- congratulations on the win!

04624181- glad you had such a special day that it will stick in your memory for a long time. Sometime the little relatively mundane days make for the best memories x

Mrs I- glad the dw is ok. Did the sewing go to plan? Is chiffon very difficult to sew?

Hope everyone has had/is having a good weekend x
