Afternoon all, a day of teenage hormones raging today, battle of wills, stubborn stand off and now I have to play discipline mum and stick to the consequences of his bad behaviour. Not a good day, got headache, kids are on the wii now and we having takeaway tea to make the rest of the day as easy as possible. Watched a youtube video online last night and got an idea for my Gran. I always get her a voucher , that’s what she requests, but I always like to get her a little bit of something extra. She absolutely loves Humbug mints so Im going to get her a lovely jar and fill it with humbugs, but her a ribbon on and a handmade Christmas decoration. Will get her a couple of other bits but I know she will absolutely love that and use them!
Free- Yes home bargains do them. I think they are £5.99 and Poundland do the Cadburys chocolate miniature refills. Well done on the facebook sale. That is fab! Glad you managed to get sorted with some antibiotics.
GTQ- Wow that is an interesting way to take the stress out of a special day. I am sure whatever you take will be lovely and how lovely that you will be there to celebrate it with them x
Vulpix- Its called Bean boozled, Amazon have them.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jelly-Belly-Bean-Boozled-Pack/dp/B0087C75ZQ/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1469540431&sr=1-4&keywords=bean+boozled These are the packs I bought but they do a full game pack which is here
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jelly-Belly-Boozled-Beans-Spinner/dp/B00PJ4L1P0/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1469540431&sr=1-2&keywords=bean+boozled My kids would absolutely love a gumball machine! A meeting of Christmas nutty minds, sounds fab! I would love to have some Christmas craft nights but there is only me that Christmas crazy!!
Peppapig- I had to laugh when you said about the film where they try to outdo each other with Christmas decorations/Lights x I too would love vintage decorations but have to make do with the Christmas mismatch of funky colours, homemade decorations from the kids, priceless obviously!.0 -
Just a quick pop-in. Hallmark cards have loads of reductions on. I bought a lovely china mug and coaster set for my DD for £4.49 instead of £12.99!!!!!
They also had packs of bows, rolls of ribbons and fancy curly bow things for 20p. I did see lots of other reductions on lovely things but no good for me for who I have left.
xxxStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
Loving de-cluttering0 -

Hi all
Being extremely organised this year as have the worry that my ESA will be stopped as its being re-assessedso I've hit the sales. My mum has finished her Xmas shopping  but I'm really chuffed with what I've managed to get.
The Next sale has proved very useful :rotfl:
What I have so far: for OH, a polo shirt, t-shirt, a pair of jeans and a pack of underpants- all from Next. (Should have cost £82- I paid 40 in total). A pair of Pringle boxers from Matalan- £3 (originally £8) a pair of leather Reebok Classics I picked up in TJ Hughes, they were selling off some unpopular sizes for £7.50- OH takes a 10, these are a 10.5 but they're a small fit and fit him wonderfully- originally £60! A thick heavy leather belt from Debenhams, think it's a John Rocha one- originally £26, I paid £10; a Leicester Tigers polo shirt, originally £35 and I paid £18.
For Mum- a Pandora charm (thanks Pandora sale) £17- seems it was originally £35, a gorgeous opal and diamond necklace- £35 from H Samuel, originally £55; and for her birthday some two coloured gold creole earrings, originally £79 now £39.
For Dad- I bought him a bottle of personalised single malt whisky online; I haven't a clue what else to get him!
I've also bought my sister a Prosecco gift set for her birthday, I'll probably get her some cosy PJ's and a Lush gift set for Xmas.
Really chuffed with my bargains*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
GTQ,I would love to go to Egypt, just watched aTV programme about King Tut.I imagine it to be romantic like an episode of Poirot LOL.
Peppa,I know, a Christmas nut in the flesh! You bet it will be like that film.I was already thinking if I could persuade Mr V to decorate the outside of the house with icicle lights. When we had a New Years party once, he rigged up a laser light show thing on the front of the house. He is asleep just now so can't ask what the real name of it is.It wasn't much and came from China.Great effect, like disco lights.
04624 Thank you, will order one tomorrow. We don't live too far,you are welcome to join our craft group. At the moment I am making a Moravian star.Google image it to see what they are like.'t do links I am having dreadful problems with my laptop, will take it back on Saturday,it is only 5 months old.Seems to be a mouse problem and sometimes typing too.
My youngest has gone to her Mum's relatives for a few days so I intend to finish a bit of painting in the Kitchen and then try to strip the wood chip off her bedroom ceiling. Was going to leave well alone but it needs repair where my step son put his foot through when we were working on the loft !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all!
Not been on for a while. I saw little of Christmas in July but was disappointed with what they had to offer- same old same old. The only thing I did like was the Alison Cork rose gold glitter tree, but then I thought where would I put it so didn't bother in the end.
Chrissy- could you have a look at copying a photo into a graphics package if you have one or into Word and shrinking it?
Vulpix- wow! I sense a healthy competition brewing ! How lovely to know that someone else is like minded in the area that you can consult with over decorations, Im off to google that star in a min.
04624181- oh dear, hope your household is back on a calm footing today.
Peppa- glad you enjoyed the film. I want to see it but DH isn't in the slightest bit interested so may drag lil sis with me as she is a true Trekkie! How is the cabinet going?
Nitnurse-not2- I will try to get to Hallmark to have a look but by the time I get there I bet all the bargains will have gone.
Free- that's good about the sale, glad you had a lovely time at the weekend- the pics look fab. Im all for chocolate cake ANY time of the day! Well done on the sale too.
GTQ- I love the sound of the informality of the Egyptian wedding, hope you have a lovely time .
Mrs-Ryan- wow you have some good bargains there- sounds as if you are well on track! Fingers crossed they don't stop your ESA.
I love those little Cadbury vending machines too! I would love one in my Christmas stocking but Im afraid the chocolates wouldnt last very long lol!
DD came back home yesterday from holiday- so guess what I will be doing today? Yup a tonne of washing!
Take care xlovin' this site!

Morning all- off out for a girlie shooping day with DD. We are hitting the sales. Going to see if I can get a couple of bargains. Jack wills has a sale on, ordered DS a hoodie for £24 to put away for christmas.
nitnurse-not2- I will nip in my local hallmark and have a nosey , thanks x
free- I will keep my eye out for them and give you a shout when I see them x
Mrs_Ryan-Wow they are great bargains, well done.
Vulpix- Wow thank you, where do you have your craft group? I will PM you x The Moravian Star looks beautiful.
Murie- Things are calmer, its difficult as he has all the hormones raging through his body but he has to follow the house rules and be respectful.Feel like it is the start of a bumpy couple of months. The sulking was EPIC!!0 -
Afternoon all,
Peppa - we want to see Star Trek. I wasn't a fan of the originals but have really enjoyed the new versions.
I really want to see the new BFG movie, I loved the animated version when I was a child and can't wait to get the chance to go to the cinema to see this one.
Feisty - I hope things are going ok with your OH, it's so hard when somebody you love is suffering.Make sure you get some rest yourself, especially with the little feisty keeping you busy too!
Free - that bus cafe looks fab. What a great idea, something totally different. We recently went to eat at a place near us called Hang Fire Smokehouse. It was exceptional and we will definitely going back! One of the owners was there too and you could tell she was just so enthusiastic about the place and obviously loved what she was doing. Well done on the ebay sale, I need to get my butt in gear to ebay some stuff. I might just chuck it all in the back of the car and try a car boot sale first, we have got so much stuff at the moment our house is bursting at the seams. It really is just 'stuff' too, DVD's on shelves that don't get watched because we use Netflix, books on shelves that have been read so won't get read again, clothes that are too big/small, allsorts!
04624181 - I always wanted a Mr Frosty too when I was younger, but never got one. I think it was for the same reason really, too messy. I might show DD2 the argos catalogue and see if she picks it out. Maybe I should circle it just to bring it to her attention :rotfl:. We have a teenager in the house too and have witnessed some serious hormonal sulks too.
That beanboozled game that everybody is on about is loads of fun. Our goddaughter asked for it for her birthday so we got it for her and the kids were playing it one evening. Some of the flavours are gross but it's quite funny seeing their faces when they realise they've picked the yucky one.
GTQ - that sounds lovely, weddings are so expensive these days and I think people do forget sometimes that they don't have to be. Don't get me wrong, we spent quite a lot on ours, but I hear a few of my friends who have been engaged for donkeys years saying they can't afford to get married, when in reality they can afford to go to the registry office to get married, what they can't afford is the fancy food and big party to go with it. I love weddings though, big or small and sometimes wish we were getting married again because I loved planning ours.
Vulpix - I know the light thing you mean. My stepmum bought one for us for Christmas last year, so I guess I will have to set it up this year at some point. I love having lights outside our house but unfortunately we didn't get around to putting them up last year. We go all out indoors though. We even have little Christmas trees in all the bedrooms and every room in the house has at least one Christmas decoration up. Even the bathrooms have a Molton Brown bauble and I get the Christmas bubble bath out of the cupboard. It doesn't get used because it's years old and actually smells a bit strange now, but it makes the room more festive :rotfl:. Actually, thinking about it I should empty them & buy some cheap bubble bath this year to refill them.
We have had a busy few days. We spent Saturday tidying up our front and back gardens, pulling up weeds, cutting back overgrown bushes and chucking some dead plants away so we could get some new plants to put in the planters.
I have also received a few more Christmas gifts that I ordered. I need a big sort out though because at the moment I've got nowhere to put them! I noticed Argos were having the 3 for 2 on toys again. I made a list of stuff I wanted to get but then didn't get round to ordering them. I'm not too bothered because I know they have another one later in the year, so I'll keep my list ready.0 -

Jack Wills sale is fab- I went in to exchange a bottle of body lotion I had bought by mistake, Mum came in with me and she came out with a birthday gift for her neighbour and two hoodies for my nephews for Christmas!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
