    Hi,

Well I did some of the decorating snag list.Gave the window and French doors a final coat of gloss.Just need to sand, undercoat and paint the door frame and the frame round the built in cupboard. But not today!Same for the woodchip.Plasterer came and said he could repair without removing it all. Will see what it looks like when its done.

I ordered 2 Harry Potter trivial pursuit from the works, plus a big bang theory mug. There is a 10 % off code online.Only on some items though.
Mr V didn't go to town in the end because they are fixing/resurfacing every road in the area now it's school holidays. There are temporary traffic lights EVERYWHERE.

I have been bitten! whilst I was painting so it is in my armpit!!!! It was a flying ant type thing.Ow Ow Ow. I seem to have had a reaction to it.Driving me nuts.

My laptop had mended itself, thank goodness.

We are off out somewhere today,as yet undecided. It is our wedding anniversary on Sunday so we are off out for a meal tonight and Monday for good measure.

  • Just thought I'd pop on here quickly and tell you all about my bargain I picked up at lunch time.

I went to Asda and at the end of one of the aisles was their Sale shelves for kids garden toys. I picked up one thing which is a giant dominos set for the garden, £10 down to £5, then on another shelf around the corner I picked up a giant board game set, draughts, chess that sort of thing. The tag said £7, so I grabbed it as it's quite reasonable to keep the kids entertained in the garden. I took it to the till and it scanned at £1.75! I was so pleased, I hardly ever find bargains so was contemplating going to grab a few more until I talked some sense into myself and realised I'm not going to get any use out of 6 of them :rotfl:Although thinking about it they would make a great Christmas or birthday gift so I might pop back after work.

Ok I am pretty much up to speed, I had to skim read a bit as I’m always shattered by this time of day and my brain doesn’t work properly! Wiggle has taken to waking up between 5-5:30am every day, we are very, very lucky if he sleeps in till 6! I can’t believe he is going to be 2 next Friday, I am currently in the throes of planning his birthday party.

On the Christmas front I bought some lovely bunting from a lady on Facebook, one is white wooden tree shapes on a gingham ribbon, one is white wooden reindeer on a gingham ribbon and the other is little felt snowmen that I’m planning to put in Wiggle’s room! Also I’ve got the latest Prima magazine and they’ve got a Christmas special ‘Prima Makes’ magazine out now in WH Smith, although it’s £12.99! It made me smile you all talking about Mr Frosty and the Cadbury’s chocolate vending machine – I had both of those when I was young! Although the vending machine never got refilled and I only used Mr Frosty once!

freespirit a wedding planning course sounds fun! I wish I’d done one of those before I planned my wedding! Let us know how it is. Thanks for the heads up on the Facebook group, I’ll check it out! That caf! on the bus looks fab! I’d love to go there. I saw a restaurant online recently that’s similar, it’s in London and on an old tube carriage. I might get there one day! I had a look in Sainsbury’s recently near my mum’s house and they had the gingerbread man sprinkles in there, although the date wasn’t long enough so I’ve got my mum on gingerbread man watch!

vulpix I’m sorry you’ve had shocking news, sending hugs to all involved. Ha ha that’s so strange that you were so nearby! How funny. You live in an absolutely beautiful place.

Feisty oh my love I am so sorry this is happening to you. I know how hard it is to look after a baby let along everything else you have to cope with. You are a very strong lady. I hope you have some family around you and I am sending lots of strength and positive vibes to you. I can only imagine how stressful and worrying it is for you all, I hope with all my might that Mr F is ok and recovers quickly. As Peppa says we are all here if you need to talk, but don’t worry if you can’t manage to get on. We’re thinking of you. x :grouphug:

newthrift Yes all things pink are a bit of a common theme with me!

mrsinvisible it is all go for you! I’m glad things got sorted over in France and you don’t have to go over!

04624181 I am ok thank you, I’m not sure where the time has gone! Thank you for thinking of me. X

Mrs Ryan fab bargains! You’re inspiring me to get out and try to find some now!

I really enjoyed Star trek which i was very surprised by as i didnt expect to.
My new doors arrived today so next week we start decorating the hall then they can be fitted. I thought the rest of my bonus was going to have to go on fixing my car as it sounded really bad when i turned right , metal on metal grating so expecting ths worse i took it to be fixed .After 2 days and both wheels and brakes off they couldnt find the problem but thought it would sort itself out.So after all that and realigning my driver door and replacing the back wiper i was holding my breath for the bill which was a whopping £5 for the blade he didnt charge for anything else and even better the grinding has stopped . RESULT.

    Hi everyone

I was on my holidays last week - went to Suffolk and had some fantastic weather. Really enjoyed seeing a different part of the country. :)

Freespirit Sounds like you really enjoyed the Birds of Prey experience - the pictures are great!

l hate water!!!!!!! My kitchen floor is flooded yet again! This time l think it is the plumbing of the dishwasher, which just happens to be located behind the pan drawers, difficult to access and no natural light. DGS and his dad have said they will get at it later today, and my 'almost a plumber' nephew has said if it is anything they cant fix he will come and looksee.
lf it is the dishwasher itself it can go, and wont be replaced, as there is only a need for it at christmas, when the family are here.
DGS and Dad chopped down my old apple trees (I cannot tell a lie, said George Washington) and cut down the low lying branches on the conifers last weekend, so l need Nev the shred to visit and get rid of the branches.
Hope everyone is ok, big hugs all round xx

CHRISSEY I enjoyed the film too when I didn't think I would. Idris Elba didn't hurt either lol.

0462 hope you had a lovely girlie day and got some good bargains.

MURIE I didn't think much of Christmas in July either, I miss the old days when it wasn't all programmable lights and normal stuff being dressed up as Christmas presents. Bring back the original Mr Christmas and the Thomas Paconi decorations! Even the toys they're doing are the same as last year. I won't be watching this year.

FREESPIRIT your fur and feathers day sounds fab, so glad the weather held and you were able to do it. The pictures are amazing. Still think the name sounds a bit suspect lol.

PRINCESSKITTY I feel your pain. DD us having similar issues with littlest DGS who is awake about five o'clock every day regardless of what time he finally goes to sleep. Hope it passes soon for you both and you can get some much needed sleep. Glad you're able to get back on here though.

VULPIX that bite sounds horrible and in such a difficult place too. Hope it's stopped irritating now.

MRSRYAN I take advantage of the Pandora sales too. I usually manage to get something for my Christmas bracelet and I've bought a triple leather bracelet in the turquoise colour as a birthday pressie and I also got honorary DD a lovely charm for her birthday, all at really good prices. At least the Pandora sale us a genuine one although it is a bit falling seeing things I I aid full or ice for so much cheaper. Oh well, you can't have it all ways.

MONEYMISSION I'm the same when something us a bargain, I put a few in my basket and then think what will I do with them. It's his I end up with really nice pressies and nobody to give them to!

3FORHOLIDAYS glad you had a good holiday, you certain,y picked the best week weather wise. I like Suffolk, it's a lovely county.

MRSINVISIBLE I do hope your flood gets sorted and the culprit identified. I use my dishwasher every day and there are only two of us. I think I'm lazy though and I don't like DH's standard of washing up so I justify it to myself on those grounds :D

FEISTY hope DH is doing ok and so are you and mini.

Off to visit the potential caravan site again today all being well. Will be DH's first time so hoping he likes it although almost certain he's right about not getting enough usage out if it. I'm hoping he loves the caravans and then I can find another site with a bit more going on so the children could go there too. That way I can say we'll be helping them have cheap holidays too!

Having a couple of days at my sister's cottage in Ludlow to unwind and chill. I've got a bit fixated on doing the upcycling and finding things that need to be done in the house (or probably don't really need to be done) and being away from home for a couple of days is the only way I can think of to stop. In my family we've all got OCD tendencies which show in various ways. DD2 is fanatical about housework (she hovers lines not her carpet like people do with their lawns lol), DD1 has to have her plates in the right order in the cupboard and can't deal with odd numbers so the tv volume always has to be on an even number, and I redesign the house and decorate (fairly constantly, it's one reason why I do the dolls houses, DH always hopes if I'm doing mini houses I'll leave the real one alone - he's wrong if course, I can do both). There's no hope for us. :D I also count everything like when I'm emptying the dishwasher and take the cutlery out I'll be counting it in my head. I once read a problem page where someone did this and asked if it was normal. I thought 'of course it is' as I've done it ever since childhood. The person answering the problem said it isn't and to see a doctor.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

O Peppa,I count too in times of stress.I count to 8 in my head,no clue as to why.I think it stems from when I was a cook in an outdoor pursuit centre and we had 8 tables so I had to make 8 pies or whatever.I like hoover lines too!Have a nice break.I wish you lived near me and you could decorate as much as you like round at mine.I buy all the stuff and am so slow to get on with it.Fancy a working holiday?

Fantastic photos Free,it is great that you are enjoying getting out and about.

Mrs I,commiserations.Things are sent to try us!

MM15,fantastic bargains. No Asda anywhere near us unfortunately.I would love some giant garden games.

PK29,poor sleep deprived you.My eldest was the worst sleeper ever.In the end he had an alarm clock which meant he had to stay in his room till it went off.He was not allowed to play with noisy things so mainly taught himself to read by the time he was 3 1/2.Cruel but desperate measures were needed after 3 years of no sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chrissy G what a nice mechanic you have.People like that are worth their weight in gold.

3 for hols,I have never been to Suffolk.I would like to have holidays in the UK but Mr V would rather go abroad.

We went to Cannon Hall yesterday, mentioned on another thread. It is a stately home with gardens and a farm. All Free (not the farm) thank you South Yorkshire Council.

Must get a wriggle on,my daughter is coming with her friend on their way to a festival.I am rabbit sitting for her as she is in between houses.

My arm is red down to my elbow and is on fire! Must find something to do to distract myself.
