yay to yellow pages carbootcrazy. hope she sorts you out properly this time!

you sound so cheery about it!

Well. I'm cheery about the prospect of making a bit of extra money:j

It's the normal Phone book this time though, not Yellow pages. They'll be due in early summer.

People don't even seem to use the Phonebook anymore, some people actually refuse to accept one. Yellow Pages are a different matter as no one seems to want them these days:eek:. The distributers have become wise to it and don't supply deliverers with YP books for all the addresses on our lists so they don't have to collect the surplus.

Check with Aesop but pretty sure that's okay

Cheers - I probably can and with everything we've returned and the cot savings we made this month, I'd say I've met target this month. However, I think it might have been Aesop who said something similar, cash is more useful to us right now, so I'm only factoring in cold, hard, cash figures at the moment - just because it keeps me focussed on the 'trying' even if I don't make that much :)

Who knew we'd all learn such interesting facts from each other? I love reading everyone's updates!!

Now, look at me with my shiny new 10 year anniversary badge :money: I think I was always pretty savvy with money. I go through phases of spending lots and phases of really accounting for every penny. Being with like minded folk on threads like this make me more focussed though so thank you all for accepting me into your little team

I wonder if we could reach 1500 posts by the end of the month  Everyone seems to be joking in the chats this month so maybe, just maybe....

On the money front, I only have a few small updates. Yesterday I posted my Amazon book and requested the payment from them so I'll add it once it hits my account. Then today, I found a pound coin plus a 5p coin :j I love finding money :j I washed out an old jam jar which I'll use as a money bank to house all the roadkill I find. I already have a few other coins I found so I'm off to a decent start!

Oh, and I completed a few Onepoll surveys, filled in an online survey with Tesco for Clubcard points and scanned my receipts to Receipthog!

A few ebay listings have bids too so I'm plodding along quite nicely!

One other thing though, I applied for a M+S Current Account to bag the bonus but got declined  It states on the letter that they did not refer to a credit reference agency (I have no idea why I was declined, but I don't think it can have left a print on my credit file if they didn't refer to any of the agencies - does that make sense? Or do you think it will still show? If I can't have that account, I'd like to try and switch to another account that's offering a bonus.

Hope you're all having a good day :)

    yay happy anniversary!

    new challenge folks!

yes it shouldnt show on your credit file. they have their own very strict criteria so don't take it personally.

clydesale bank are offering incentives to switch as are nationwide, and a few others.

well done rawdinosaur. you know you can sell other stuff on amazon too. I know someone who won an iron and had just got a new one, they sold the one they won on amazon.

I went to my selling account yesterday to find that even though I had supplied all my details last time, they still want me to verify my account before I can sell. Bit of an issue for me, as passport in maiden name, I refuse to pay full fee to get it changed again, and I have paper bank statements in maiden name but other info is in married name :rotfl: I have a bank account in married name and maiden name as just easier with some stuff.

I realised I am close to withdrawing £10 on jackpot joy, went to check my details... my bank card expired 4 years ago! So can't do anything until I am ready to withdraw and then they will sort it all out for me.

That will teach me to get married! it is one big hassle with all the paperwork I am having to change!

Sorry you're having problems with the verification process, Aesop, all the hoops we have to jump through are a real pain:mad:

I was going to ask if they'd accept a Driving Licence as an alternative to a passport as it seems to be a standard acceptable form of documentation in many cases. You may not have changed names on that either so may be a silly suggestion:o

I sent driving licence, which I changed after 10 minths :rotfl: and marriage cerificate but they still want proof of bank, whoops talking about amazon.

JJ were fine, they said when ready to cash out they will take new bank details

They must have a procedure for your scenario Aesop. Unique as you are :D, you can't be the first person to be in this situation. Have you asked them what they want? A marriage certificate plus your other documents should do the trick I would have thought. Hopefully it doesn't take too long and you can sell sell sell!!

Lol - I actually meant seeds as in 'money making avenues', but since you ask Kantankrus Mare, I am in the process of trying to set up our veggie patch!! :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: @ me getting the wrong end of the stick!

It should save you a fortune growing your own. Ive had an allotment for ten years and had successes and failures along the way. Last September moved to a plot that is more practical to get to and amongst all the old boys who will no doubt be giving me advice.
My dad recently retired and is helping me. Was too much on my own really. We took on aplot that was completely overgrown but we are gradually getting it how we want it. Dads good with the woodwork, building beds etc which leaves me to concentrate on the growing which I love.

Do you grow strawberries? They have to be one of my best crops and once you have bought your initial plants, you just increase your stock each year from the runners. Totally MSE :D:D

I quite fancied the TSB one...£100 switching incentive, 5% contactless cashback on the first £100 spend each month, 5% interest and a linked 5% saver account! I'm about to transfer a balance to a 0% card for 9 months - that account could keep the money separate and earn a bit of interest too. Maybe I should do a credit report check thing (what's the phrase I'm looking for :rotfl:) before I apply just in case there's something amiss.

Popping over to TCB and Quidco to see if there are any cashback offers for this :money:
