I get like that sometimes, but you have to think that each pound you make is added to the last pound you made and before you know it 1+1+1 equals a whole lot of money! Even bending down to pick up that stray penny you see on the floor...add it to the other pounds and pennies and you are closer to your goal :money:

Who knew we'd all learn such interesting facts from each other? I love reading everyone's updates!!

Thats why I love this thread. What with the obvious 'big brother' fears out there these days and the need to be careful on line, I do feel like theres an awful lot of trust and safety among the people in this group. It's refreshing!

Now, look at me with my shiny new 10 year anniversary badge :money:

    Congratulations!

I wonder if we could reach 1500 posts by the end of the month  Everyone seems to be joking in the chats this month so maybe, just maybe....

Was that a gauntlet you just dropped....?

On the money front, I only have a few small updates. ...... bids too so I'm plodding along quite nicely!

Slow and steady wins the race. Looking good! :)

  • It should save you a fortune growing your own. Ive had an allotment for ten years and had successes and failures along the way. Last September moved to a plot that is more practical to get to and amongst all the old boys who will no doubt be giving me advice.
My dad recently retired and is helping me.

Do you grow strawberries? They have to be one of my best crops and once you have bought your initial plants, you just increase your stock each year from the runners. Totally MSE :D:D

That sounds ideal! How lucky for you to find somewhere closer to home. We specifically wanted a garden with our house purchase due to the difficulty getting an allotment plot. Have you seen the waiting lists for those things? Some of the names at the top of the list are so old they are written in sanskrit!!!

I haven't done strawberries yet KM, but dying to as they are our favourite fruit. I thought they were quite difficult for some reason - or maybe its just the eating them before the wildlife do thats difficult?! lol

More stuff gone today so 40 to add and I now have made 222.
I listed some more stuff this afternoon and already had enquirers. Gosh, it gets quite addictive doesn't it?

I have a veg plot in the garden and I'm surprise about just how little veg Ineed to buy in the summer when everything is productive. This year I won't grow anything because we'll be moving so I'll miss that but hopefully in our new place I'll be able to get a few veggies in.

Well done on the sales and have you thought about taking lots of cuttings from your old plot? Even if its just a few bits for pots in the kitchen or veranda??

I wouldn't bother. I'm still waiting for them to pay mine and keep getting fobbed off with excuses / conflicting information every time I call to chase it up. Not to mention their online banking is truly awful

If I don't get my bonus next week I'm shutting the account and going back to Halifax. They ain't gonna keep me if they ain't gonna pay me.

How annoying lexbubbles. Keep at them though and definitely tell them you're off if they don't make good on the deal. Possibly mention it on one of their social media sites too, if you use them? It usually gets them moving pretty quick at the prospect of public negativity.

Streaming video games on Twitch (I was playing Theme Hospital, if anyone remembers that blast from the past :rotfl: ) and I got 3 separate donations from viewers to the tune of £29! One of them sent me £20!
    £291.42 / 310 (13.88 / day)

Wow! You must be very good at those games!! :rotfl: Good for you though, sounds like easy and enjoyable money if you enjoy gaming.

Same here Bluebell. Have made a few small sales this week of less than 50p after fees and I get a bit fed up sometimes too, but it's 50p that would be getting dusty in a cupboard if I hadn't done it. Plus, when you think about all those challenges people do where they aim to sell 1000 items in their house....well 1000 x 50p = £500! It's all money you didn't have and theres always things that will go for more than you planned to even the balance out. Keep at it and stay positive about the bigger picture. You're doing well!

Apologies for being (very) late to the party. I'm in for £5 this month. So far got £50 wages for job 2 and £40 wages for job 3 after tax. (Just got a third job, though it's only a couple of hours every other weekend I love it as I get to watch the football for free) Also used £12 of sainsburys vouchers they kindly sent me. £102/£155 :)
