Just had a 'sold' email from Amazon, nothing very profitable but every little helps. At least this one is definitely sold and not another of the 'pending' ones that I seem to be getting this week:j

Aesop, the reason I prefer Amazon to eBay (apart from the fees:() is because sellers have no contact with buyers apart from just sending the book of course. In case you haven't sold on there and don't know how it works Amazon act as the middleman, notifying sellers when a book is sold and providing the buyer's address. They take payment from buyers and pass it on to sellers after about 3 or 4 days. In the meantime the book has had to be posted but the money is safe and will definitely arrive;). There's none of the emails back and forth like you get with stroppy eBay buyers, it's all a lot more anonymous which suits me just fine:j

Obviously there's contact if someone needs a refund or something but it's done via Amazon's messaging system so there's no need for buyers to have sellers' email addresses at all. In my experience it's always worked pretty well.

That's only 5-7 blends. I'm not talking a box of tetley here ;)

Tea forte stuff is £15 a caddy. Whittard's £6.50+or so per blend (100g), Twinings the same. Prices vary on which leaf is used as the base etc. Especially white tea, which is very pricey (but oh so worth it)

Of course, it's loose leaf which means you get more tea for your money (especially since you can, nay should, re-steep the leaves two or three times)

I assumed you meant posh tea as I don't think you would have enough time to drink that much worth of normal tea a month lol x

  • Nightmare about your phone shellyosborne :( i'm guessing no insurance to cover it? Some people have no conscience about stealing stuff like that and it makes me so

Well done on the samples Sales Aesop :) def worth doing research!

I have insurance with my bank account but it's £70 excess. I am going to go into the 3 store tomorrow and see how much an early upgrade will be and decide what's best to do. I really don't want to spend £70 and I have cut up the credit cards to so it can't go on there. I am not missing it too much so far only for my money making bits I might see about getting a second hand one or a cheapy. I am slightly worried about not having one in the car in case of emergency's as we live in the middle of nowhere x

  • Yes me too shelly - we don't use ours for the same stuff you people seem to, so we don't need really up to date ones and the deal we've got now came because some years ago OH had her old donkey of a phone stolen in T3sco and when I went to report it we got her such a great deal I swapped too !

[We got about 260 minutes, 1000 texts and I think 1Gb plus New (old model) Samsungs for £7.70] Whereas I was paying I think £30 a month each for the old ones at the time!

So maybe the loss will be a chance to rethink your needs ?

Yeah I will definitely be reducing my contract as soon as I can as I wasn't using it half as much as I used to. I have unlimited everything as my partner was in the Marines and away a lot so we spent a lot of time on the phone but now he is home I don't used it much except for the apps so I will be having a think about what I need. Might be a chance to save some money long term x

Just a quick question...I know its nothing to do with making or saving money, but I just caught up on last night's Eastenders. Why are their Christmas decorations still up?

I finished all available surveys and was just watching as I ate dinner :rotfl:

No I could definitely drink that much normal tea in a month. That's only... what... 40 cups a day? Easy :rotfl:

  • Another £39 from Facebay sales for me, plus another item that will hopefully be picked up on Monday. I like facebay because you avoid the fees of ebay, but it is a bit hit and miss whether people actually turn up to collect things!

Saved £20 by getting quotes for heating oil - can I count the saving towards my challenge?
    Thanks :o
Normally I just take the price, but I someone told me oil was cheap at the moment so I thought I would check. The first price I was offered was 4p a litre more than I found on line!!
Makes a big difference on a tank of oil.
Well done for shopping around and getting the £20 in your pocket :T
