Brilliant savings on the baby stuff, Surfchik. Well done:T.
Congratulations to all money-makers since I was here last. January looks like being a very profitable month for a lot of us:j
We still have a landline too, Aesop. If I had my way we'd get rid of it but OH is a luddite and likes a 'real' phone and an entry in the phone book. I tell him one of the reasons we get a lot of cold-calls is because our phone number is visible to all and sundry but he won't listen.
Not many alternatives though as we seem to be in a black hole for mobile reception:eek:. I often have to go down the garden to use my mobile as connection in the house is very hit-and-miss:mad:. It's just a basic non-smartphone for calls and texts only so obviously not Wi-Fi enabled.
Living out in the sticks I dread to think when/if high speed broadband will ever transpire despite the Government forever banging on about rolling it out to rural communities as a priority;). There's no cabling round here so that rules out several entertainment and communication options. I know we could have Sky but I hardly ever watch TV and OH is too mean to pay for any subscription TV. We've just rely on Freeview. We haven't even got mains gas round here either:eek:. The joys of country living! Not:(0 -

I only have freeview, as well. At the moment I also have Amazon Prime (which, as a student, is only £35 a year rather than the usual £70) on a 6-month free trial so have access to shows and films on there but honestly I download the shows I watch from America because it's months before they get aired here anyway or watch video game streams on Twitch for background noise. The only reason I ever watch live TV is during the F1 season :rotfl:
The only SKY channel I'd want is SkySports F1 because they have the rights to live broadcast of half the races (auntie beeb gets the other half) so I miss half the season. But can't get SSF1 without having a basic SKY package and then adding the sports package and it's silly money to pay for 1 channel.
Can't even get SKYGo to access channels on devices without having said same subscription either, it's a total farce honestly. Like I'd pay a tenner for a SKYGo subscription and use an app without having the box and channels on my TV itself but noooooooooooOOOOoooo.
And companies wonder why people use illegal web-based live-streams to access their channels when they need to. Gee, can't think why anyone would do that :eyeroll:Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

We're F1 fans too, lexbubbles:j
The cash-strapped BBC has stopped its FI contract early:eek: and from this upcoming season one of the other terrestrial channels is sharing coverage with Sky. I think it's Channel 4. I'm really sad about it as I liked the current BBC commentary and analysis team. I've no idea who the new broadcaster has lined up. I just know I hate any sports coverage forever interrupted by ad breaks:mad:. I also hate having to watch half the season's races in highlight/catchup form but that will happen anyway whoever the terrestrial co-broadcasters are.0 -

ugggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Well, looks like dodgy low-quality illegal web-streams of Sky F1 for the ENTIRE SEASON it is for me, then! Can't be doing with this highlights lark, it's just not the same.
Actually I'll see how annoying C4s coverage is first. Maybe they'll be nice and not break for ads during the actual race? Maybe?
40p on Panelbase. Also several old surveys on there finally cleared so I can withdraw another £10 :jAqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

I'll give it a try too but if it's anything like ITV's coverage of some of the World Cup football matches when goals were scored during ad breaks I'll give it a miss. I think the commercial TV channels got their acts together this last World Cup but I certainly remember it happening in the past;)0

As a fellow F1 enthusiast I can tell you that Channel 4 has promised not to show any ads during the races. Also, they have signed Coulthard to lead the broadcast as far as I'm aware.Debt Free Wannabe (Since 12/15 - Target 06/17). oh thank god.
I just got screened out of SEVEN different surveys for not having children. My profile says I don't have children. Why do I even fill those things out.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

I think they said that they wouldn't break for adverts during the actual race...and I believe they have pinched some of the BBC's reporting team too. I don't have a TV but was still disappointed at the BBC stopping coverage. In my opinion they were the best!
I adition to not having a TV, I don't have a house phone. I pay for a landline so I can get broadband, but I don't actually own a phone to plug into the wall :rotfl:
In money making news, I sold an item on ebay and have sold another one but still waiting for payment. They asked lots of questions before buying it so I'm sure they'll pay. I have a bid on another item that ends on Sunday so I'm slowly getting there. I have a credit card bill due on the 25th and currently I'm about £75 short so I'm relying on ebay sales  Must find a few other things to list!!!
Oh, and I got overcharged for something at Tesco and when I emailed CS, they offered to send me a £5 gift cardI'll not add it til I receive it but I thought it was a nice touch!
