  • Hi everyone!

SFD for me today...unfortunately not for DH though...grrr!!

Was paid £20 for today's small booking - about £14 of that is profit. DS also got to go to the party which he thoroughly enjoyed.

DD has been shopping with grandparents who have bought her lots of new clothes, so not something I will have to worry about for a while.

Hope you feel better funbrum :( congrats on the NSD's!

Yesterday was my 3rd NSD and today will be as well.

    Today's tasks are-

Drop off rug parcel at po on way to gym
    Go to gym
    Decide about boots
Put everything in loft from Xmas
Put decorating stuff in cupboard from under bed
    Tidy and clean bedroom
Move items from en suite to guest bedroom in preparation for tomorrow
Get guest bedding and towels washed after they check out
Possibly nip to tops tiles for 4 tiles if there aren't any in the loft (will not count this as a spend)

I'm having work done to both bathrooms this week  my ensuite only has a bath so I'm getting it pulled out and a new one fitted the other way round with a shower attachment, walls tiled, curtain rail etc.... Also means the sink tiles need to be changed and the few above toilet need removed). Have saved up for this so got money ready.

The shower pipes in the guest downstairs bathroom are coming away from the tiles. Plumber says it wasn't installed properly years ago so needs to break 4 tiles to see what mess they made then fix it Which will involve securing it all in place. Don't know how much this will be as it depends what he finds behind the tiles. Got some money in savings to cover this.

Means I haven't got any guests until Friday as there will be no shower so will be nice to get the house to myself :) just hope it's fixed in time or my weekend guests will need to be put in my room with the e suite which I don't want to do!

Hope everyone has a lovely day :D

Today was another NSD taking me up to 5:T

Been a busy bee today, trying to catch up with some of the washing plus doing housework.
I have made a lemon cheesecake from bits we got at Xmas but never got round to making and also made apple sauce ready for our pork tomorrow.(Pork from our own pigs last year, hopefully this year I can make apple sauce from apples from our own trees plus with the allotment hopefully producing I might be able to do a whole roast dinner with stuff that we have grown/reared)

Still nothing for free and not made charity donation - must start a list of things which are needed and then I can buy them on a spend day - hopefully Tuesday will be my next spend day.

Having a whole meal you had grown/reared would be a great achievement. I on the other hand would be sharing my veggies with a lot of geriatric pigs as I would never be able to see them slaughtered - I am a hypocrite I know.

Xspender - I hope your offer gets accepted.

    Hi everyone,
NSD 5 today, not great but not bad I guess being as it's the 10th.
Got some free stuff- someone DH works worth gave us a box of homemade sauces that his daughter made, hickory smoked sauce, bbq sauce, Jamaican cooking sauce and pasta bake sauce to name a few, also my mum gave me a packet of pearl barley yesterday.
Since starting back on my ADs two weeks ago I'm starting to feel better, on Friday I made a curry, soup, bread and a cake and yesterday I made the kids some oat cookies, I have my cooking mojo back, and the fug has lifted, also after a long chat with DH things have been better, I think my depression had progressively got worse over Christmas so it hadn't helped my reactions and thoughts.
Trying to spend a moment each day to be mindful in what I am doing so I just sat here really enjoying a cup of tea! It's taken me ages to write this as my DS has been demanding the iPad off me.

Spend day today, just for groceries, but as I added my monthly magazine into the trolley I'm chalking it up as a spend. Also bought some cans of dog food and a bag of kibble to pop in the charity bin in the store so that covers my charitable donation for this months challenge :)
Now I have to concentrate on the NSDs to complete this month challenges! Going to be tough.

  • Had nsd 6 yesterday, didn't get back from coffee at my friends until 2am and just kinda fell into bed so didn't post last night.

Today should be on track for another nsd, although I really must get some veg tomorrow, as all the veg I have in is a pepper and spring onions that are past their best (and will shortly be turning into soup for lunch) and a couple of tins of sweetcorn.

Plans for today involve trying to do some reading for uni work. My back went on Thursday and it's difficult to work as I can't find a position to sit that doesn't hurt.

Afternoon all, a pj's kinda day today,DH went to in laws on his own kindly to pick our little one up after bowling club, he took half of our slow cooked beef joint with him and they had dinner down there, I had a lovely lay in and batch cooked 6 roast dinners with left over beef, and got some left over cooked turkey to make a nice curry all slimming world friendly, making a cottage pie or bolegnese out of defrosting mince so most of weeks lunches and teas sorted for us all for week.
A NSD again today so 7/21.Updated freezer lists hubby thinks iv gone crazy but it makes a huge difference knowing what is here and not double buying, and quite looking forward to having a nearly empty fridge freezer by the end of month and planning a monthly shop rather than using up a mass of stuff, and throwing new on top of old.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend x
Can someone please encourage me to throw my home weighing scales out please.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    edited 10 January 2016 at 5:04PM
    Hi All

A great Sunday so far. Lazy start. OH is currently doing homework with son and I have a sleeping baby on my lap. It's turning cold here too. Certainly a chill in the air so snuggled up in a blanket.

So far I've been shopping. Took a list and stuck to it. Have then cooked a chicken and vegetable pie for dinner plus will freeze 2 portions. It contains another portion of the YS chicken from yesterday. There is still another portion for sandwiches in fhe fridge. Whilst the oven was on I cooked fish fingers for our lunch. Got to love a fish finger sandwich. I then made chocolate chip cookies and home made baked beans. They are going to be for dinner tommorow with some chunks of chorizo thrown in.
So lots of useful activities to help the week go smoothly.

Saw 3 homeless people in the space of about 100 metres today whilst out shopping. One of whom was a woman. It is scary how quickly a life can go wrong. I hope they all get the help they need. Especially if the weather is getting colder.

Sorry to hear about your back themarsbargirl well done on completing so much of the challenge x Raphael
