Can someone please encourage me to throw my home weighing scales out please.

I got rid of mine years ago when I suddenly realised one day that weighing yourself at least 5 times a day was not a healthy attitude to have!!

If I wanted to weigh myself I went to Boots and paid 50p on their self service scales.

Nowadays we have a Wii fit and when I can be bothered I connect it all up and weigh myself, if I can't be bothered I check how tight fitting my clothes are and go from there.

No one needs scales at home so feel free to ditch them!!
  • Another NSD today taking me up to 6!!

Busy day today on the allotment - managed to clear a huge section of bramble on mine and can nearly see the back and DH has got rid of loads of his bramble and cut back all his apple trees (these are new to us allotments, we have had them about 10 months but we took 2 of the worst plots that had not been used for years).
I can see good progress and I am hoping to be able to start digging my beds by the start of Feb as need to get my onions in!!

DH and I made real progress with preparing the house for sale today and will have everything ready for the photos on Friday.

We will hear on Monday if our offer has been accepted on the house. Feeling a mixture of :D and .

We have spent some money on bits on bobs of cleaning, painting items and a pillowcase and a lamp shade today to dress the house ready for sale. I have decided that I am going to use a small amount of money from my savings to cover this so I don't mess up my budgets. We spent £50 on 9 bottles of wine to fill the very prominent but empty wine rack in the kitchen. I will use this as gifts and to drink but it will take us a long time to drink it :rotfl:

We had a freezer based tea tonight and will carry on clearing the stocks.

I have a very early flight to catch for work tomorrow so will be off to bed soon.

  • So I have made 8 NSDs out of 10 so far and everything was looking positive...until this weekend came along. Saturday I got a phone call saying I need to spend £450 to fix various things on my car (brake discs and pads, tyres etc). Then today I somehow put my car key fob through the washing machine. I'm pretty sure they cost over £150 to replace...

It justs makes me feel like I am fighting a losing battle paying off my debts. It is one thing after another. I am still paying off last months huge vet bills and now this...feeling pretty down

Busy day today, and not spend free unfortunately - but worth every penny. Went out and did my tutoring and then met up with bestie for a cuppa and a sarnie for lunch. Spending time doing my own thing is good for my soul. Much as I love my family, it gets draining from time to time.
Then had a wander around the shops and finally spent my £20 H&B vouchers on vitamins for dh - he needs them and I had no particular wants or needs from there so decided to put the vouchers to good use. I also spent a bit more than I intended in other shops but not too much.
Oooh, actually, I'm just thinking that those vouchers might go to my wombling total Bob? I got them months ago after a package I ordered arrived damaged...

    Yes I don't see why not. :)

Well done on your progress! Eager_Elephant:T
I miss my allotment mainly the lovely people I met there. Unfortunately it became too far to travel when I moved, so I'm contending myself with a back yard full of pots and a front garden for my veggies:D

Must try harder - do you have any emergency savings to cover that? What a huge pain.

Bipex -sorry to hear how much you have on your plate. I hope your relative will be ok.

  • Well I do have a small amount of emergency savings, but unfortunately I am going to have to use those to pay a builder to fix a wall in my house as water is currently coming into my hallway...yet another thing going wrong.

We have actually been trying to build up £1,000 emergencies, but every month there has been something else go wrong so as soon as money goes in to the pot it has to come out again, so we barely have over £100 saved up : (
