  • beg. I love your snowman

I love snowmen (as decoration I don't want any real snow)

In fact I have just made a cushion from a snowman round robin which was completed YEARS ago. The piece was stitched in England, Wales, Australia and South Africa so very well travelled. It's a poor photo which I've added to our Flickr group but I'm out tomorrow so won't be able to take a photo in daylight before Saturday. The fabric is light blue linen which doesn't show up very well

I've also added a photo of my 2nd finish of 2016. It's "All you need is Love" made into a cushion. Most of the cross stitching was done last year but the final 3 letters were done this month

Snowman cushion is so cute. The fabric I am using for my snowman is the sparkly type but doesn't show on the photo. Your 'All You Need' cushion is fab too. :T

They are saying we are in for Arctic conditions next week, starting with frost in the morning - no no no

It's a gift and will be completed quickly so it doesn't count as stash. We forgive you.

Just remembered stitchpoint.com that lovely recourse/ site for converting words into cross stitch. I've just been playing with some more Frank turner lyrics. It may be dhs valentines card.

Love must be in the air fos - our DS has just returned from Bruges where he proposed to his girlfriend.. Just wondering now - do I buy a card or do I sort something to stitch . Will give it a little thought over the weekend and see what I can come up with. :D

Got the snowman out to do a little while DH prepared our tea and I sort of got side-tracked looking online for engagement/love themed stitches :o.

Gifts for others are defintely a different matter Mrs C so I wouldn't feel too bad about it. ;) That's what I'm thinking with the engagement card. Might find chart in my stash somewhere and have plenty of threads and several bits of fabric but if I have to buy something - oh well at least I have tried :p:rotfl:

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and manage some quality stitching time.

    Hi everyone,

kezbabybabe - love the Winnie stitch. I did the A-Z and numbers for my children's nursery years ago. Still have them in the loft for when I have grandchildren lol!

Mrs ceejay - lovely hydrangeas, really nice colours.

fos - the cushions look great.

    nmm - great leopard update.

I have finished Sydney :j I started it on 13.4.15 (yes I am a nerd and made a note), but RL got in the way and what should have taken a relatively short time took a lot longer. I was busy with work and holidays, GCSE results, craft fayres etc. last year and it meant less time for my stitching. I've made a decision not to do any craft fayres this year. Mum will go with my DSis (who sets them up and runs them). I have to be realistic - it's a lot of work for not much recompense. One fayre I didn't sell anything at all. I don't need to supplement my income (luckily) so I'm not going to give myself more work to do. Sorry for the ramble, but I saw DMum and DSis last night and it was on my mind this morning.

    Ta Dah!

Now off to look for my next stitch project. I won't take part in the Valentines challenge thank you, but will look forward to seeing everyone's makes.

    Have a great day all

  • Lovely finish Coxy :T. Can fully understand your decision on the craft fayres. The snowman is a nice one to stitch (imo ;)) but like everything else it's hours we need adding to our days to enable us to stitch everything we would like to do.

Have decided I am just going to buy DS a ready-made engagement card but have been reminded of the LK A Good Marriage Chart which appeals and I may get a little more time for that ;).

I am sure I rescued a hydrangea chart out of a magazine - would look lovely in my lounge for the summer. The way things are going I don't think it will be summer 2016 though :rotfl:

Enjoy the weekend everyone. No stitching for me today but I have sorted a couple of items for fleabay.
