FOS, love the freebie and I don't class free charts etc as adding to stash, I just got a few myself from here I won't be doing valentines for my OH he doesn't care for stuff like that, i'm just using up a free mag kit I found.

Mrs Ceejay, welcome back, the A-Z is wonderful i'm sure it'll be treasured forever.

Coxy, great update, it'll be done in no time.

I got loads done today on the leopard so I hope to make my end of January challenge.

I actually managed to get an hour of stitching done this morning before starting lunch :T first time in weeks I've picked up the needle

And I found out today Elvis stitch is not needed until January next year! My mum got her friends age wrong!

While this means I have plenty of time to get him stitched and framed I'm still going to work on it first so I know it's done and no pressure to complete

  • First finish of 2016 to report. Not on any list of planned projects as it's an engagement card for our eldest GD who phoned on NYD to say that her boyfriend had proposed on NYE. I stitched this little design from an old magazine Everything came from stash including the card and stickers :j

[img]https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5799/238 Still can't get the image thing to work on the iPad but have uploaded photo to our Flickr group[/img]

Ahh the card is lovely x
  • Really pleased with the progress on my Christmas cushion over the last week. Dare I say I will finish this by the end of the month? Probably not as I will probably have a lot less free time from tomorrow than I have had over the holidays. But there is no rush for it so I'm not overly worried. Was thinking of stitching another cushion (the same) so that I could have one for each sofa or if I decided against that I am sure that DS's partner would love it. I just thought that whilst I had all the threads sorted that would be time time to do it.

I've printed out a couple of the christmas freebie charts nmm - thanks for adding to my pile :p :rotfl:. I loved the simple little santa/reindeer one and the lovely colourful snowscapes I think they were called. Can use up some of the many colours I have - in keeping with the new name of our thread :D.

Lovely to see some familiar faces back in the Cafe. Congratulations Mrs ceejay on the new arrival (love sampler). The monochrome monstrosity is looking fab mags :T.

I cannot see your card fos so will have to sort my details out for Flickr - I am hopeless at remembering them as it is not something I use very often. :o

Happy New Year to you all and hope we have many happy stitching hours in it.

  • Well done everyone on their progress since joining the 2016 thread. :)

I've managed to sit down and do some stitching over the holiday break, felt really good to get some done for a change, as well as progressing my 2nd sock:

Also it's my 2nd wedding anniversary in August, so I'm considering trying to sneak in a cross-stitch for us both, as 2nd wedding anniversary is cotton. Unfortunately I'll need to figure out how to stitch it without him seeing!

Typical, as I've done wedding/baby samplers for other people, but I don't know enough people that would consider doing the same back. :rotfl:

Kez, winnie the pooh is so colourful, a great project to be stitching :) I agree about giving cross stitch and not getting back, the only cross stitch I receive is from our xmas exchange.

BEG, sorry :( but atleast it uses up stash :D I like the santa one too and the little bear.

    My latest leopard update

This is my next project, started it before Christmas.
I bought the kit off e.... ,not sure what to expect as it was coming from Poland, only thing different was, instead of cottons, I got skeins of wool but it is a crosstitch kit,so I just matched the colours from my own cottons, and all the instructions are in polish,
    Don't usually do flowers,so it's a change,going to make it into a cushion for
my bedroom, the colours seem to match.
Still can't the photo to print from flicker,I have copied your instructions, get
To bbcode,it flashes grey and promptly disappears!!!so annoying
