January is a high convention month for Vegas, if your dates coincide with a big convention that could explain it, but mid-December may be the cheapest time to go to Vegas, it's not really a period to compare against. It can be quite cold in the winter - I only mention as some think it's warm all year-round. We were there in January once where it was far colder in Vegas than in London most of the time we were there.
It is far too early for the best deals for hotels, at least. If you wanted to, you could book something refundable as a back-up and keep looking, if that made you more comfortable.
Thanks for the reply! I've been searching across a lot of dates in January and February (the fact that Expedia won't even let you search for February 2017 yet probably answers my question, right?), and prices seem high generally. I don't think we'll get away in December this year, so hopefully at some point I'll be able to find a decent hotel with flights from London for 7 nights at £1000 pp or less - does that sound feasible for the time of year I'm talking about?
I've not seen anything direct at a price I'd even consider yet, and it seems vastly cheaper to book flights and hotel together (whether that's through Virgin/BA or one of the Expedia-esque sites), so unless anyone advises me otherwise, we'll probably leave it until May/June time to start really considering our options.0 -
£1000 pp for Cosmo or Aria seems like it might be a bit tight to me, but that's just considering flight prices and then doing the maths to see how much would be left for the hotel element as I have never looked at packages. Maybe with indirect flights it would be possible.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

14 days for me :-)
If anyones interested I have just amended my happy hour/food specials for the strip hotels, its a docx word document and uploaded here if it is of interest for anyone :
http://www.megafileupload.com/arcY/Vegas_Drinks_&_Food_upload.docx
Tried to update it with some latest happy hour details I have pulled from TripAdvisor. It is not meant to include everything, just something we find easy to look up when out and about.
thanks would like to see it, how do i download it without signing up to the megafile site, i click on free user slow download but nothing happens0 -
Just received an email from the US groupon - 50% off until 9th March.
Tried it on the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace and it works! $34 for two VIP All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast Buffets with Mimosas (from $135).
Use Promo Code NEXTFIFTY
Thank you all who post.0 -
Just had another look at the Bacchanal Buffet deal, while we didn't think it was that good, thought it might be worth giving it another chance, see if last time was a one off...specially at $34.
When we got this groupon last time,it included unlimited mimosas, but this deal says only 2 mimosas...not a deal breaker, but I don't see where the $135 cost comes from.Breakfast buffet is $31...2 mimosas are hardly another $70+0 -

Think you have to click twice on the slow transfer.
If that doesn't work then try my dropbox link :

Yes I have included it - on page 2, we loved it two years ago, cocktails are very strong, only downside is you can't mix so have to get two of the same cocktail but we swapped around amongst us.
I am happy to keep it updated if anyone spots a good one/or a change on their trips0 -
