So envious of all of you whose trips are coming up soon! We still have 149 days (and 21 hours, 12 minutes!).

Has anyone eaten at Lakeside at The Wynn? We wanted to do it last trip but never got the time, so it's on our To Do list this trip.

We have this booked for our upcoming trip - just reserved the table through opentable.

I can report back when we have been.

Lovely, thank you. Have you been to the Sterling Brunch too? Would be good to know how it compares.

    4 days to go:j
Still not fully prepared but i am guessing i will figure it all out!
Still haven't decided about the grand cannon, we would have to do helicopter due to time restrictions-any cheapish recommendations? Any good veggie food places near the Monte Carlo?
I am super excited, its all happened so quickly-feels surreal, can't wait to get on a Vegas slot machine:T

We haven't sorry, no plans to do it this visit this time either - we already have - Aria, Bellagio , Bacchanal and Jazz brunch - 4 buffets in 10 days is enough :D

Thank you Stuie for the Cosmopolitan contact, we have got a free night at the end of our week, could maybe have got another one but there is a conference on the couple of days before. It does however mean 3 hotels in a week but cannot decline a free night in The Cosmo!

Have you chosen your flight seats yet? We decided to pay (economy) and have chosen exit row 25 on outbound and row 62 inbound. I was undecided whether to go for the bubble again but have chosen row 25 for quick exit off plane in Vegas and row 62 as they are the 2 seats together at the back and we are in no particular rush to get off back at Manchester!

    14 days for me :-)

If anyones interested I have just amended my happy hour/food specials for the strip hotels, its a docx word document and uploaded here if it is of interest for anyone :

    http://www.megafileupload.com/arcY/Vegas_Drinks_&_Food_upload.docx

Tried to update it with some latest happy hour details I have pulled from TripAdvisor. It is not meant to include everything, just something we find easy to look up when out and about.
  • Good evening folks. My partner and I are planning to take our first trip to Vegas at the start of next year - keeping our options open by saying we'll be looking to go in January or February, hoping that those kinda times will be cheaper.

However, looking at prices available through the obvious routes now (both Virgin/BA and Expedia type websites), the prices in Jan and Feb seem a little steep. For example booking directly with Virgin a week at one of the decent hotels (we're probably hoping to stay at either the Cosmpolitan or the Aria) in mid-December is around the £900 pp mark including flights, but if we look around the same kind of time in January it's more like £1400 pp, a considerable difference! Is there a reason for this? Are we wrong to look so far in advance, and should we expect prices to start to drop in maybe a few months time? I've noticed a few of the hotel's websites aren't yet showing availability for 2017.

Any help you could give would be really greatly appreciated, I'm definitely one for planning as far ahead as possible, but if that's not the right thing to do in this case then I'll stop looking for a while.

    Thanks!

January is a high convention month for Vegas, if your dates coincide with a big convention that could explain it, but mid-December may be the cheapest time to go to Vegas, it's not really a period to compare against. It can be quite cold in the winter - I only mention as some think it's warm all year-round. We were there in January once where it was far colder in Vegas than in London most of the time we were there.

It is far too early for the best deals for hotels, at least. If you wanted to, you could book something refundable as a back-up and keep looking, if that made you more comfortable.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
