On my last full day here in Vegas. It's been fun but I've noticed and felt the effects of the price increases plus the poor rate of the pound. Definitely more expensive than my last few times here.
$6 for a beer in El Cortez (Corona). That's El Cortez, not the Wynn.
$48 for two cheeseburger meals mid strip. It's my 8th time here so I'm no newbie and I do know how to get a bargain but Vegas is starting to squeeze the normal people.
On a sad note, cannabis has been legalised here (not recreational). I have to say, Vegas absolutely STINKS of it. It's disgusting as it's skunk you always smell. People get on the buses absolutely wreaking of it. It stinks on Fremont St. Paris is disgusting. You walk through clouds of it everywhere. I'm taking a few years off although I can see me not being able to afford here in 3 more years.
I stand corrected.
My wife has just shown me an article that says cannabis is legal for recreational use. Nevada gets $116m tax a year from sales. So sad.0 -

I didn't know that, is it legal to smoke it in the casinos
Edit just googled it, law only just changed and it isn't legal until Jan 1st next year but I can imagine it being everywhere already.
Not sure what to think about it0 -
They voted for it on November 8th along with a lot of other things including the presidential election.0

Thankfully it's not allowed in the casinos. I've not smelt it once in the casinos. When people come back/get here, they'll see what I mean. If you've ever smelt skunk, it's pretty nauseous stuff.
If the law doesn't come into effect until January, I dread to think of the smell next year.0 -
For those that are asking specifically about Lyft, there's people standing outside Bally's (near Whalbergers) giving out $50 credits. They are also downtown towards the Container park (Near the Neon Shoe/cocktail glass).
They all wear pink t-shirts. I don't know how Uber/Lyft work as I'm happy catching buses. You can find the credits pretty easy though.0 -

i set up a new Facebook account just for the purposes of playing myvegas, i've not added any friends on it. i play via Facebook maybe 2-3 times a week (when i remember to!).
i play the slots app pretty much every day and usually collect my free tickets every 4 hours (except at night!).
i play the blackjack app a few times a week.
so i'm consistent with it, but not a slave to it. i've never bought (and don't intend to) any chips for "real money".
so I guess a this rate, buy the time our April trip comes around, I might have earned about 125,000. not sure what we'll spend it on! probably just a couple of 2-for-1 / 1 free buffet and maybe a ticket for a CdS show
A word of warning playing on a an account that is not real.
Playstudios frown upon anyone playing on a facebook account that is not real. By playing with a FB account linked with no friends or activity may well get your account blocked by them (error 0) and all your time and effort will have been wasted.
They have software that looks for this very type of player as its well known people would create an account, build up Loyalty points then pass on or sell the account.
I used to be pretty close with the developer of the game (monty) when I had the MyVegasFriends group and I know its true.
Would hate to see you play and build up LP's only to find out you cant redeem anything when you plan to use them.
edit, you wont know if your account is blocked until you try and redeem anything. They will quite happily let you continue playing and will not contact you.
I have been playing MV since day 1 and have used a fair few rewards in the past. Got back from Vegas on Tuesday and didn't bother with any rewards.
Your LP's are better spent buying freeplay chips with the likes of Hippadrome in the UK. You get more £ per LP and you can collect them then bring them home to use at a later date.
Last time we got a train to London, collected chips then came home. Went a few days later and collected more and ended up walking out with £1000 in my pocket.0 -
High Roller. This was one of my highlights of my trip.

Not checked out the details, but from facebook. I guess you will win $8 off, but you might drop lucky and win free tickets.0 -
Hi there,
I am just back from Vegas and have 3 unredeemed Groupons:
2 x four rounds of Kiss Monster Mini Golf at the Rio (so 8 people can play) - Cost me $47.00 with a value of $95.00
1 x Hookah for four people at the Luna Lounge - Cost me $18.00 with a value of $36.00 -
They all expire in Feb 2017.
If anyone is visiting Vegas within that timeframe and is interested in purchasing all 3 groupons for £40 then please send me a private message.
Cheers Gary (Blacktwo)0 -
