    Hi,

I was advised to download "MyVegas" app which has free games you can play to get points for when you are in Vegas. I am stopping at the Luxor and could probably work up a fair few points between now and March when I go.
    * Is this the same thing as the mylife card that I hear everyone mention?
    * Is it worth my getting my OH to download and play too for more points whilst we are out there?

    hi

anyhow on your 1st point in regards the M-life card- Its a bit of yes and no
The mlife card if like a rewards programme that if you shop-gamble-spend in an mlife property (theres like maybe 7-8 hotels or so in vegas including the luxor) so if you spend money in these properties, give the dealer-cashier your card, your spend is montiered. Some times your are able to get comped rooms or buffets or something atleast.
If you are going to redeem a my-vegas reward you need the mlife card(for the Mlife properties) don't worry its free and all you do after getting the card, when redeeming a reward is go to the hotel where the reward is, go to the mlife desk, say you are redeeming a reward( you d get a code before hand, keep this handy- you get a code for each reward and need to give the mlife person it) and the reward is put it onto your card.. say its a buffet for the luxor you d go to the buffet and tell the cashier you are there to redeem a reward, hand over your card, job done !:j

As for your other half i think its best you each have one account each, you are allowed to redeem 3 rewards per person(i think within a 30 day period) so in theory you d have 3 rewards and your OH would also have 3 rewards.I ve heard people haveing more than 3 rewars for *buying chips* but i have not done this so have no expeirnce in this maybe some other posters could advice?
as for your 3rd question i have no idea-sorry
Sorry for the long winded answers and hope this helps
    kind regards

We are going to do this before we go home. Probably Thursday.

What time of day did you go and did you do the bar pod?

We have a travelzoo offer for the bar pod. Not sure how much we will drink in half an hour though.

We too had the Travelzoo bar pod. However, we decided to go in a standard pod. We arrived about 12:15 and the whole process is very well organised. We were told a bar pod would be along in a minute. However, there was no one else about. After a quick conversation we decided we were not bothered about a drink, and would rather have a pod to ourselves. We felt it would be nicer than the 2 of us plus a bartender.
  • On a different topic, Ma Po Tofu at Wynn buffet was delightful. Without a doubt the nicest dish I have eaten all week.

Play myVegas on both Facebook accounts...
Collect Gold coins (which takes a lot of time and patience to build up)
U wont get many points by March, but enough to gain over $100 worth of free stuff (food stuff most likely)..
See it as an added bonus for the work you put in, don't bother buying chips.....
You need the Mlife card, as it links your account, so sign up for a free mlife card anyway.....
I wrote the how to for MyVegas when it used to be good, but like anything, it dwindles over time... as said, its free stuff u get from the game, so rock n roll ! :D:D:D
  • just for an idea of progress, i've been playing myvegas since the start of October 2016... mainly on the mobile app, but also on the laptop... and have earned 52,600 Loyalty Points (which you redeem against the different rewards).

i set up a new Facebook account just for the purposes of playing myvegas, i've not added any friends on it. i play via Facebook maybe 2-3 times a week (when i remember to!).

i play the slots app pretty much every day and usually collect my free tickets every 4 hours (except at night!).

i play the blackjack app a few times a week.

so i'm consistent with it, but not a slave to it. i've never bought (and don't intend to) any chips for "real money".

so I guess a this rate, buy the time our April trip comes around, I might have earned about 125,000. not sure what we'll spend it on! probably just a couple of 2-for-1 / 1 free buffet and maybe a ticket for a CdS show :)

For anyone thinking of the bar pod this offer runs until the end of today...

    http://http://lasvegassun.com/news/2016/nov/29/like-mgm-caesars-entertainment-to-start-charging-f/

It was on the news last night that Caesars properties will begin to charge for self parking and valet parking at the end of December. They were bound to follow suit because people were parking at their properties to avoid MGM charges.

Platinum and above will get it free for the time being.

Also they mentioned that locals would no longer be able to get free parking at MGM properties in 2017 of they weren't pearl and above.

Never mind. We only have a car for a short spell each trip and find Uber and Lyft to be very good indeed.

beginning to wish I hadnt booked a trip next year, I do keep telling myself it will be the last though
  • photome, im the same, i just booked for end of next october and it will be my last trip to las vegas.

my only advantage is the free rooms and food i will use without gambling much as no point in trying to keep playing levels up.
