Bottom line for us...if we can still afford to go to Vegas,we will continue to go...after all there is nowhere better is there ?
That's why we will be there again next October, and hopefully many more times after that.
This is us - though as we do gamble, we're able to offset some of the increases - but not all...it's still our favourite place in the world and I can't see us swapping for somewhere else anytime soon. In a year or so, if the exchange rate is still as low as it is now (or worse) then maybe we'll decide we need to take shorter trips or otherwise plan around the increased cost, but that's the extent of the changes I see us making.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

hi
and despite the costs invoveld and the travelling - like you vegas is still my favourite place in the world to go on holiday to !
Like a few posters have said if they can afford to go they d still go and Im in that camp if im honest.Im still trying to figure out dates/money for next years holiday will be a new experince going on my own though. my brother doesn't think he d be able to afford it though.
Has anyone done vegas on there own?
or prehaps any holiday really,i ve spoken a while aback it and i think the vast majority whom replied said they d be happy to go alone.

We did the High Roller with bar today. It was good. I was surprised how small the pods are considering how many people they allegedly hold. We were with two other couples and they were very pleasant. I think we will do this again with my dad in spring if they have the travelzoo offer.
We are having last supper at Bahama Breeze just now. It's Tonys favourite happy hour, and this is the last one before we leave on Sunday.
Despite the parking fees we will probably be back. We mostly stay off strip and will do shuttles and buses to do what we need on strip. We have been here for six weeks and really haven't done much on strip at all. We spent four days at Monte Carlo and saw a few shows here and there at various other times, but nothing much considering how long we are here for.0 -
3 weeks and 2 days until we arrive on the Vegas leg of our honeymoon
Does anyone here use Uber of Lyft in Vegas? Having never used it before i'm wondering if there are any issues with using a UK phone number in the US. I will have data, but heard the drivers text/call on arrival, so not sure if that'll cause any problems.
Thinking of using it in the evening, as those "short" walks between hotels will feel a little nippy this time of year.Current Debt: 0%.Current House Deposit: 7%.0 -

Ive had a call from the drivers whilst using my UK three feel at home sim.
Make sure you sign up with the free codes - lyft worked really well with a $5 off 10 journeys when we were there last.0 -
We were in Vegas in September and used Uber. It was great. We had a young Cuban driver who went over and above pointing out the sights. Tripadvisor Vegas forum has plenty of threads on Uber.0

And the new system with the Uber app shows you the exact fare that will be charged. Sometimes you might have to wait a while to get a low fare as they fluctuate with demand.
We came off a cruise liner in Miami yesterday, standard fare to MIA in yellow cab is $27.00. At the time everyone was disembarking the Uber fare came up as $47.00.
Waited on ship till almost everyone had left and the price came down to $12.00The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
gutted, i was just about to purchase my internal flights over the weekend, for our April trip - prices hadn't changed for weeks, so thought i'll just get them and be done with it. went to book, and the price had jumped over 60% for no apparent reason :mad:0
