Sorry I thought you were talking about Avios, not VA miles. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
It did in the article i read., cant remember where i read it though
suspended from March 17 to Nov 17
edt, was in the lasvegas review journal it is linked to in the link you posted

interesting read about the planes!
Saying it becomes an issue with the weight when the temps reach above 104 !
When we were there in June, we had that heatwave where the temp peaked at 117!! Guess the planes would have struggled that day !0 -
one for anyone that's done internal flights in the US... roughly how little time can you get away with if your internal flight requires a change?
looking at doing WAS-LAS non-stop is quite pricey. Naturally a 1-stopper comes in a bit cheaper. For example there's a 49min 'layover' in ATL for one of the flights. Would that be enough time, if everything was on schedule?
Does luggage get transferred for you or do you have to collect/check it in again?0 -

Outbound you need to collect your luggage and re-check it.
Sorry, I can't remember what happens with the luggage on the return journey."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -
Outbound, you need to allow plenty of time at the first airport you land at in the USA (your "port of entry") to allow for US immigration and customs.

hi John, I appreciate this applies to flights landing in the US from abroad... but is it the same for internal flights? i.e. we'll already be in the US having cleared immigration.0 -

There are Minimum Connection Times for most airports
ATL MCT
I've no idea what John259 is smoking but both his answers are wrong.:p
I assume you are on one ticket (ONE Ref #) and assume (as it's ATL) you are on Delta?
Luggage is transferred without you having to touch it.
You next gate may be literally next to where you get off the first flight.
Or if it's not then the 50 minutes MCT will allow for that.
Assuming it's one ticketed flight
If because of delays to the inbound you miss the connection then Delta will put you on the next flight
However
If it was the last flight of the day or the next few flights are full you could have long wait.
You pays your money:cool:
TBHO if I were you I'd ask these questions to the airline concerned to get a definitive answer.0 -
