The Wynn is a lovely hotel but not as central as some, which can be a plus or a minus depending what you want.
Are the pluses slightly quieter and the minuses further to walk/ cabs needed?
With car parking, I'd have a convertible so would want secure parking, is this going to cost a lot for a four night stay?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I've been playing the myVEGAS game so I can get a free ticket to see the Beatles Love show. It says at the beginning of this thread that the rewards go live at 3pm UK time every day. The thing is that it always says sold out for the show - does anybody know why? Is it the case the tickets are all gone for good now and they won't be available at all again in the near future?0

Thinking of a stay around New Years Eve, ideally about 4 nights, is this about right for a minimum stay or do some hotels require longer?
Any thoughts appreciated.
I don't think a minimum stay is required. I was considering a trip over new year a couple of weeks ago and the flight prices going out especially on new years eve were really cheap for US prices (sub £400 from Man or sub £350 via Dub with AA/BA). Not checked since though. Anyway when I priced up the hotels as you would expect the weekend prices were higher than normal but way OTT compared to normal weekends. Supply and demand I suppose. I played around with having a couple of nights at a budget hotel then moving on to a better hotel. In the end I didn't pursue it.0 -

All hotels have valet parking or self parking, I guess valet parking is more secure. I have used both and not had any issues.
All MGM properties now charge all others including the Wynn are free.
I love the Wynns rooms but don't like where it is on the strip0 -

Its to the north of "everything else", meaning its a long walk to get anywhere. Close to Venetian, Palazzo and Fashion Show Mall though.....not far from TI/Mirage......which is next door to Caesars and you're already halfway down the strip!!!illegitimi non carborundum0

AFAIK its only at VP at the bars bot on casino floor
I was wondering, I'd heard about it at VP but not anywhere else. We used to quite like the Margaritaville Casino area in Flamingo but the last couple of trips there doesn't seem to have been much drinks service in there. Paris we found poor too. Venetian also poor (since they did away with drinks2u which we liked!!), Bellagio good in our experience.0 -

I must admit I love the location. Ok, it's sort of at one end of the strip, but it's the very nice end. You have Encore joined on, Venetian Palazzo across the road, Fashion Show Mall across the road with lots of shops and restaurants etc too, then TI diagonally opposite, joined to Mirage. It's a nice spot. I prefer that end of the strip to the MGM end for sure.
I'm staying at Luxor next trip, and there will be lots of walking north!!m:rotfl:0 -
Didn't do a trip report for our trip a couple of weeks ago.
But in brief,we stayed at Orleans,MSS and Luxor.
Stayed at them all before, and more than happy to stay at them all again.
We really do like going down Fremont street for a couple of nights at the weekend.
Surprised our 21 year old daughter while we were there...she thought it was only Vegas,so she was like a child again when we told her the night before, that we were going to Disneyland the next day.
Food was pretty much as we have done many times before, although we did try a new buffet...Mandalay Bay...we won't be doing it again...not even saved by the champagne add on.Ellis island steak spot on as usual.
First time we have not bothered with one single show whilst there...we felt the 2 day Disneyland trip replaced them.
Enjoyed the fact that my wife and I could finally sit at a machine,or have a drink with our daughter,it made for a different kind of Vegas trip.
Had a great afternoon at the beer park, made all the cheaper by pre purchase of groupon/travel zoo voucher...can't remember which.
Also had a groupon for ameriCAN bar at linq...as already mentioned on here, had hassle when they decided to cut the all day wristband drinks short.
Once again the most enjoyable parts of the holiday revolved around drink deals...I am seriously starting to question wether we all have a drink problem :rotfl:
Again,as already mentioned, after a terrible time at the slots in Mays visit, this trip wasn't too bad.I would say we just about broke even,so that's a result.
As also mentioned before,we love Vegas,I would hate it if we decide not to visit because of all the new "extras" that seem to be creeping into the holiday costs....with the 25th anniversary trip to the big apple and the big easy next year,I'll still crave Vegas.
Hopefully for the first time...if I do it right...i will add a photo or two.
The view from the beer park to Bellagio is great, and I meant to take a photo of the Ellis island steak before eating half of it...but,once again..come on its $7.99
We are all big fans of nightmare before xmas...so it was nice to visit Disneyland when it was the holiday one, instead of the normal haunted mansion with the ghosts....not Vegas I know, but someone on here recently said they would like to visit whilst in Vegas.0
