I've had a great steak at Envy at the Renaissance hotel which is monorailable(?!) - they pop up on Travelzoo frequently too
For cars, a few of us on here have done the Tom Petty muscle car challenge at the speedway. I enjoyed it but not sure if the price is still good ($100 IIRC)
Lesley - I'm out of town at the moment and due back in tomorrow... Not sure when, could be late so will pop my head in to see if you're there but otherwise probably catch you Weds- be warned that one of the maids smokes like a chimney, so if you get given a room that smells of smoke, then it's probably just been "cleaned" and the smell disappears after an hour or so (crazy eh!)

We were hoping to do happy hour tomorrow night and maybe thursday night. Tonight we're heading round to Origin India (opposite Hard Rock) then Bahama Breeze for a cocktail on the way back. We're just back from the outlets. Wednesday we plan to just go out and stay out all day...starting at GVR for breakfast or lunch, shopping in Henderson and then Gaetano's for dinner. We decided it probably isn't worth going to the pool at Westin for a few hours in the morning, but you never know we might. I think the pool is due to reopen on Thursday at some stage? We were in asking about early check in today and saw a sign at the desk. If you are back by 7 or so tomorrow night then come into stir and see if we're there, but don't rush back. We can catch you on Thursday instead if that suits.0 -
For idea #1 - another option could be Voodoo Lounge at The Rio.
For idea #4 - really depends what you like. I really don't like guns, but there's lots of folk who like the idea of being able to legally shoot, there's a place you can do that in Vegas which is popular. Try groupon for some inspiration too, you might get other ideas on there as there are lots of deals on experiences. Travelzoo has High Roller passes just now with the drinks, 2 for $35 and you might even find a discount code. Possibly not quite what you are after for the guys thing as it's only 30 mins, but might be of interest anyway.0 -
I would totally recommend the gun garage if you are going shooting. Its quite expensive but a groupon deal halves the cost.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Wow - thanks for the welcome and to all for your great ideas and suggestions. I certainly fancy Casa Di Amore and the Tom Petty Muscle Car experience sounds great.
We've already booked High Roller tickets - we've done it before and it was great fun (hic!).
Unfortunately Voodoo Lounge is bottle service, I just don't get why you'd pay $450 for a bottle of Grey Goose, but each to their own. So the Strat Sky Lounge sounds more up my street and my wallet.
The night time strip helicopter flight is also on the cards too. Thanks also for golf suggestion and gun range suggestions - I'll check them out.
Please keep 'em coming.0 -
Voodoo isn't only bottle service, although if you want a seat it would be I think (after a certain time at least).
The good think about Voodoo is that they take Total Reward redemptions. So potentially free for Social Rewards folk. there are cheaper places out there for sure.0 -
Thanks Lesley - I contacted Voodoo and they were only pushing the bottle service, but I suppose that's to be expected! I'll have to dig out my Total Rewards card to see if I can grab a freebie.0

Your query may have been differently worded to my recent email to them. They offered to put me on the guest list for free entry. No bottle service mentioned. It's not cheap for drinks though. I did get ladies free drinks 2 years ago. Wristband on entry. Might be locals only now though.
Nvh- we are currently at happy hour. We are going to mcmullans quiz opposite orleans at 8. Leaving at 7. You are welcome to come if you are back.0 -
Battlefield Vegas pops up on groupon a lot and I think it's a great deal. You get a tshirt and 3 different guns and the option to shoot at your tshirt or keep it in tact. It's especially good with all the discounts Groupon keep throwing out thereNvh- we are currently at happy hour. We are going to mcmullans quiz opposite orleans at 8. Leaving at 7. PS - there's an app called Cityzen - download it and sign up with promo code HR0000 and you get free drinks every 24 hours down at the Linq area (Chayo, AmeriCAN etc). I know you guys don't touch booze, but just in case you know someone that does! Hahaha0 -

Nuts. Only just saw this! I did wonder if I saw K in the bar when I left Platinum but he was definitely on his own if it was, so dismissed it (second thoughts, reckon that was about 7:15ish. Maybe later). I have walked down to Linq for Mexican (Chayo - Unknown to me it's half price tacos for some reason. They were good!)

We left here just after 7. An American girl that was in the bar ended up coming to the quiz. We got talking to her at the bar, and she was with her husband who had gone to bed because he's here with the Air Force and had to work early.
Still having the jetlag issues, and also think I'm going to have to ask for a change of room...we're up the top and there's a heck of a noise like there's a helicopter landing on the roof. Must be the air conditioners. It's a constant noise, but irritating all the same...not sure I could put up with it for another 9 nights!
Free drinks - that's a really bad idea lol. We went down for wine last night, then had some food during happy hour. The wine thing is way too early.0
