  • Well, you can probably all guess it's jetlag time again! We walked down to MGM yesterday afternoon. Found travel adaptors 2/$10 in the shops on the way down nearer MGM. Those things are expensive even in ABC - $20! So that's that sorted at least. Used myVegas dinner redemption each at MGM buffet. Was good but I didn't see the feta houmous that they had last time. It was really good. We did the drink bump which was $16.99, price of this has gone up significantly I'm sure it was only 12.99 last year.

We stopped by the sigma derby and lost some quarters, then started the walk back. Stopped in at Indigo lounge on the way back. We were totally dead on our feet by this time but trying to avoid going to bed too early. I must have been sleeping by 9pm though, so I woke at 1am. I had a couple of hours awake last night too, then got back to sleep so I'm hoping that trick will work again!

Picking up our hire car this afternoon and going to go do some labor day shopping. Maybe down at the south outlets.

currently booking dummy trips while OH watches something boring on telly :D

looking at doing a multistop trip... now, if it meant leaving from LGW and arriving at LHR, how would you manage the transport situation? i think there are some parking services which will take the car from one airport to t'other... (we live a couple of hours drive from both airports, and can't get a direct National Express coach to LGW unfortunately).

Park at LHR. National Express coach to LGW.

    genius! simple but effective ;)

did some price checks last night for this probably-wont-happen 2-stop trip of flying to London-Washington for a few nights, then internal across to Vegas for a few nights, then back to London.

return flights with Virgin came in a £463pp. made me go a bit

We arrived last night about 8.00ish.
Had something to eat in the hotel, and was in bed by 11 pm.
Wide awake by 3.00am waiting for wife and daughter to wake up.
Managed to wait till 6am before disturbing them,by jumping in the shower.
Just off down for buffet breakfast now.
  • Hi all,

As the title of this post says, I am new on this forum but have visited Vegas many times.

I find with each visit there is always something new to learn and always some $$$'s to be saved, so I decided to stop lurking and to get stuck into this forum.

Our next visit is in December during the NFR and we are a family of 8 visiting to celebrate some BIG birthdays (50th, 40th and 21st).

As there are a range of ages in our party we're looking to celebrate many times and do some different things and I'd welcome your advice on getting the best deals.

Idea #1 - Enjoy some good quality cocktails, in a lounge with a fantastic view but we don't want to be ripped off by a bottle service - Any ideas?

Idea #2 - Do the Grand Canyon helicopter trip. I've done it before but a couple of our party haven't so I'd welcome any pointers to some good deals.

Idea #3 - A top class steak meal. We like 'old skool' Vegas so would welcome your recommendations on high quality, good value restaurants - happy to go Downtown and of course looking for some good deals.

Idea #4 - A Girls and Boys Spa Day - not together! So we're planning for the girls in our party to enjoy a Spa and all that pampering malarky, so I welcome suggestions. Us boys are going to have our own sort of spa day - we're planning on hiring a supercar, then to hit a cigar lounge and to finish off with some UFC, but I welcome other ideas, particularly if there is a money saving deal included.

Idea #5 - I haven't got a fifth idea so welcome any suggestions.

I hope that's not too much for my first post and thank everyone in advance.

For idea number 3 the best steak i had in vegas was at Casa Di Amore. It is off strip but well worth a visit. Its real old school vegas and the atmosphere and food were amazing.

Another suggestion for number 1 is Level 107 lounge at Stratosphere. Free to go up the tower if you're going to the lounge and the happy hour is 4 to 7 then 11 to 4. Half priced appetisers and 2 for 1 cocktails.
