Thanks. Will be adding a San Fran trip report soon.

Think the cab to Caesars was about $13. You could walk it but it'd take 30mins plus and you'd arrive at your nice meal a sweaty mess!!!

That sounds like a better idea, mind you could have a few cocktails on the way from Fat Tuesday to cool us down but by the time we got there would probably be p***ed so better take the cab!!

We are back from our 3 week tour round california. Had such a great time. Unfortunately Vegas wasn't part of the itinery this time. Although we were nearly talked into driving from LA on the Saturday for the ufc fight, husband was offered tickets, but it would have meant driving back the next day as we were seeing Coldplay at the rose bowl. That was amazing by the way.
This time we did LA, Big bear lake, palm springs, san diego and long beach.
Now all i need to do is find a job (was made redundant in march) so that we can go back next year!! Holiday blues big time now!! Would love to be in Vegas next may for my 40th.

After some advice form the seasoned Vegas travelers or anyone who has been in December please.

I am not a newbie to Vegas but never been in December and have found a cheap ex Dub flight mid December for a week. After advice on typical weather and if there any warm days i.e shorts and t-shirt weather. I have looked on weather sites and December appears to be the coldest month with temperatures possibly going down to zero at times. I have been in Feb and experienced a few pleasant days.

Also any advice on any hotels with indoor pools as I know from experience most shut down during the Winter months.

Anyway I have recently returned and the weather was unbearably hot, most days over 40 C. Found a nice burger joint on this trip, via groupon, called Cafe 6 at Palms Place, I even had to purchase another Groupon and go back. I would definitely return on a future trip.

    Thanks

We have been in December before and sometimes it was colder than London, other times it was long-sleeved t-shirts and jeans without a jacket. I don't think December is shorts weather for most. You can see averages by day here:

Obviously on the day it may be warmer or colder.

Some of the pools are heated and open year 'round...not sure there are any indoor pools, at least not at the Strip casino hotels. I think Platinum has an indoor pool - some of those who stay there can advise.

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

The Platinum pool is indoor/outdoor. It's half and half with a swim through.

Thanks to Ferf and Lesley the information was very useful. I don't think Mrs Stevie will be up for a trip to Vegas knowing that she will not be able to relax round a pool most days. I know there aren't as many shopping bargains to be had now so that is probably what we would be doing most days if not relaxing. It would have been my 4th trip in 18 months so nothing lost I suppose.

Anyway will have to get my thinking cap back on.
