Dal Toro update. I chased up again today saying what was holding up my refund as I knew others who had received theirs! I got a reply back quickly with a refund notification. It says they're 'refunding me' then it goes on to say 'groupon bucks'. I had a $10 off voucher when I bought it, so only $25 back. So I've wasted the $10 new account voucher too now. :( Bit annoyed. I mean why don't they just refund me. Annoying thing is, I tried to purchase another groupon on that account and it didn't go through, I got an email saying to contact them regarding payment but I just ordered it on another account instead. I have a feeling I'll have bother using this credit. I'm annoyed it took so long for them to refund me too.

Hi Lesley, go back to them and tell them you can't find anything so you want a refund to your credit card.I did this finally on Saturday and I was sent a notification that it had been done, but will take 10 days to go through. Good luck :)

Urgh. I changed most of ours just before the referendum but I have a couple of grand still to do. We have a month yet, so hoping it cannot fall much further and will start to stabilise and strengthen before then.

I really messed up with this.

We go again in September, and I was going to get half our spends before the vote. But on the day of the vote, the dollar was going up,so I assumed the " clever men" knew it was going to be a remain vote...therefore I left it.
In the middle of the night,I saw the big drop, and knew I had messed up.Tried to buy from a couple of places that night, but wouldn't let me.

Now starting to wish I took the $1.33 on offer right after the result.

Anyway...we are now starting to look at ways to "compensate" for the drops.
As we went in May,we don't want Septembers trip costs to be to high.

Thing is there aren't many ways to save a little.
Hotels are already booked...direct with hotels,so payments for them will be higher than we expected...plus side is we are only stopping at Orleans,MSS and Luxor...so no expensive costs.

We wouldn't change our shopping, shows and eating habits either.

So our way of "compensating" slightly would be the gambling.
As some may know,we never used to gamble when we came on our early visits,as our daughter was only young.
Recent trips we have enjoyed gambling a lot more....but it's not our main reason for coming to Vegas...so I think this is an easy "option" to cut back a bit.
We will still gamble...specially as our daughter is coming this trip, and she is now 21...so she will want to do "grown up things"

But a little less dollar in the machines is a fairly easy way for us to adjust to the drop in the exchange rate without feeling we have had to cut back on anything.

Regarding the $ you just summed up to perfection our actions / thoughts.

We have MGM Sig booked on a cancellable rate through hotels.com, but have decided against looking at alternative hotels / rooms. Our view is that we are not going to let the $ impact on our hard earned holidays, and simply look for alternative ways to make up the shortfall.

Regarding "compensate" husband has been listing items on ebay, and has already made up the additional cost of the $ dropping by selling a few unwanted items of clothing.

    hi

was in a similar boat as you. This years jeglag was the worst yet for me!
got over the worst this week despite being 3weeks back already and well with the weather as it is i wish i was in vegas!
  • I suffered terribly earlier this year, and for weeks the thought of going through it again was terrifying. Since we are going back later this year, can we please stop talking about jet lag.
  • Husband is currently listing on ebay, and is playing Lady Antebellum. He always plays Lady Antebellum when he is on the pc and it has a Vegas connection. He never plays them any other time - he is in to his indie and rock music.
Weird quoting myself, but bored on dinner so who cares.

He also plays Lee Greenwood - I’m Proud To Be An American. This was one of the first Bellagio fountains we saw, and he thought it was amazing watching everyone sing their hearts out. God Bless The USA!

Heart – Alone and All I Wanna To Do Is Make Love To You. I think it was our second trip, and we had 2 free buffets at MGM each day. Heart were playing later that month, and the advert for the concert just seemed to be on repeat on the tv in the buffet.

Out of curiosity, what is the total travel time each way.

There are no huge layover, so the travel time is really good. I always like a good long time in the arrivals lounge in LHR to shower though.

Also managed to get the return leg date changed for free today so I can stay for UFC 202!
