Couple of things we're thinking about that we've never done before...Secret Garden (2xfree tickets on myVegas), and Rock of Ages ($40 per person on Travelzoo). Any opinions on these?

Don't know about Rock of Ages, I'm afraid. But we've done the Secret Garden a couple of times and it's nice to go and have a potter. I did see one review ages ago saying that they went in June and all the animals were asleep and they found someone and complained (the visitors, that is, not the animals, lol) . Think that has to do with the fact that it's a bit bl00dy hot, lol :D
It's nice for what it is, a few snoozy animals and you get to see some dolphins. My grumbles with it, is that last time we went, we were forced to have some of those - what now seems compulsory - photos (I hate that) and also they try and give you those phone things where you press the button and it tells you about the animals. They never seem clean those things...yuk!! HTH :)
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j

Although every time we have been, there seems to be less animals there....

Good. The Mirage is a disgrace for continuing to breed white lions and tigers. We boycott it because of this, which is a shame as it looks like a nice hotel with some good bars.

I do fancy Rock of Ages. We were thinking of going last time but ran out of time and I wanted to see MJ One more. Hoping to make time this trip, as the reviews seem positive. :)

I had to laugh about the sleepy animals too. I think some people just have a thing about complaining lol.
It seems like a lot of places have adopted the photos practice. Some places seem ok when you say no thanks. But the staff at the Mirage seemed a bit aggressive - I really didn't appreciate having an hand thrust at me and being told to wait.
It would be nice to be asked if you want some souvenir photos, I wouldn't have a problem with it. It's an issue when it's treated as a hard sell.

We were having an evening meal at a steak restaurant in Vegas when we were approached by a lady with a camera asking if she could take our photos - no pressure to buy she said - so we said ok posed for 3 or 4 photos - she gave us her card and we carried on.
About 30 mins later she came back with a folder with 3 photos and 2 small photos in a credit card sized wallet. If you want to buy them she said that will be $130!!
She even had a card machine to take card payments.

    It was not required :D

    Taking the michael or what?

You should have said you get prints done at Boots for 30p each, so lets call it a pound in total.

glad we're not the only ones to like that place... it's not mentioned much on here - bit of a hidden gem in my opinion :) seen the same band in there for a few years running now and they're great

For Mexican, i used to be a big fan of Diablos but not been for a few years now :)

I guess it went off a lot of people's radars after it closed down fairly quickly and the Absinthe guys pulled out after it lost loads of money.

Glad it's back and the menu is the same, etc. We went the once not long after it opened and had the chocolate terrarium. The food is insanely good... again not cheap, a truly unique dining experience.

Ah - it was probably your pics on a previous thread that persuaded us to go and have the terranium... reminded me of China Poblanos terracotta warrior (ie. a challenge!) - pics below for those that are hungry :D;)

Back to RoseRabbitLie... we had booked in to see the show before it got pulled (... but then it got pulled so we couldn't see the show). Glad we still went though. Had food once - very good as you say, but pricy so not eaten there since, though have sat at the bar a good few times since and the house cocktails and entertainment weren't bad at $8 a go (IIRC) - we still have a lovely glass bottle that you were allowed to keep if you ordered a cocktail 'jug'.
